"The castle is very atmospheric, but the internal facilities are old and the decoration style is old-fashioned. Self-driving parking is more convenient, the staff service attitude is acceptable, and the response is normal. The overall short board is in breakfast, with few categories, average taste, average price/performance ratio, only suitable for one night check-in."

"If you dont speak Italian , if you dont drive. Stay away. The location is in no where. There is nothing to get, no food within 2km, no bus, need to call taxi everywhere you go. Minimum charge is €20. So this is not a hotel, it is plain B&b with restaurant.The restaurant is not opened except Thursday to Sunday. Which I have no faith to try. When I called them trying to know how to get there, the answer was I dont understand, this is not my problem. May be this is language issue, but communication was really bad. When we arrive he keep saying that I should have called him , but there was no such a rule when I booked.. May be another communication issue. The so call breakfast was nothing like what we had in Milan. A coffee,the one served on the second day was cold, some juice which I never drink, although there are choices but we were never asked what we want, e.g. There should be muesli, but we were not asked , we were Given yoghurt. A piece of cake. I asked any croissant? No! First day , no fruits, second day some cut fruit, third day. No fruit. Oh, some biscuit. Until we ask for bread then we got a few pcs of toast. We totally given up and never bother to speak a word. We end up took taxi to cremona town and had our second breakfast before our activity. The room is decent, everything working. But the location is really a killer. So if you are not driving, not speaking Italian, stay away."

"Hotel Gambara is an excellent place to stay. The landlady was a wonderful host and the staff was very helpful. The breakfast was a proper Italian breakfast and very enjoyable. Will go back again when we are in the area."
