La Réserve Eden au Lac Zurich

Seefeld Zurich|0.8km from Le Corbusier House
Stayed here for 2 nights and, overall, the hotel was very good. Has a boutique feeling to it on checking in. Reception staff all helpful and charming but not a ”grand hotel” which was not a problem. Car valet and parking service and location is right alongside the lake and a 5 minute walk from the old town. Modern decor and amenities but lacked a library or reading area (at least we could not find it). There is the ground floor Eden Bar which was fine although quite stark. DJ on Saturday nights and Sunday early afternoon. The only disappointment to us was the room. We went for a Deluxe City and ended up on the 4th floor in room 47. In terms of amenities the room was absolutely fine - King size bed with quality linen, decent shower and branded shower gel etc. The problem was there was no sofa or arm chairs so we were confined to reading on our beds and the bathroom / corridor, had one sink so only one of us could access the sink at any one time. There was a small outside deck with chairs and a table which would have been good in the summer but it was -4 when we stayed. The website advertises these rooms as ”1 Queen- or King-size bed, 269 to 355 sq ft 25 to 33 m2 and couch - in almost all rooms”. Probably the luck of the draw - great to have the King size bed but unlucky to have no sofa or double sink bathroom. On Sunday night we ate at La Muna on the top floor and would definitely recommend that. Charming staff and very good food in a good atmosphere, we really enjoyed that. Took a look at the gym which was clean and modern although not particularly large so not all CV equipment might be available early in the morning. I would definitely return although would want to de-risk the room issue with going for a higher category. The room size was a downside for us on this trip but everything else was very good.

Park Hyatt Zurich

It seems clear to me that the quality of customer service in travel has greatly deteriorated in the last three years. I understand that service providers have trouble finding and retaining people and the ones they have often don’t seem to take pride in their work. Sadly, I’ve come to accept this as the “new normal.” Which is why our recent three-night stay at the Park Hyatt in Zurich was such a welcome surprise. Not only was our room clean and comfortable but the service we received, from start to finish, was efficient and personal. Just a few examples: We had a flight delay and airport transfer difficulty arriving to Zurich and did not get to the hotel until after 1:00. The gentleman working the front desk who checked us in, got us waters, helped with our bags and personally escorted us to our rooms. He was also working the next night when we returned to the hotel after dinner. He spotted us coming through the lobby and literally ran over from the front desk, greeted us by name and asked if our room was acceptable and if there was anything he could do for us. The housekeeping staff are a bunch of ninjas. You never saw their carts in the hall but we’d leave in the morning and when we returned in the afternoon the room was made up. Perfectly. We’d leave for dinner and when we returned the room was turned down. Perfectly. We had drinks the first night at the Onyx Bar. When we returned the next night, the bartender remembered both our names and our drinks. We interacted on several occasions with the daytime concierge. I wish I remembered his name. It wasn’t just that he was knowledgeable about Zurich and responded immediately to our requests. He acted like speaking to us was the absolute highlight of his day. I know these are all little things but they added up to a wonderful stay. Plus, the hotel couldn’t be more conveniently located. Staying at the Park was a luxury item for us but, let’s face it, traveling anywhere in Switzerland is a luxury item. I would return to the Park for their level of personal service in a minute.

Sorell Hotel Seefeld

Sorell Hotel Seefeld

Zurich|0.62km from Le Corbusier House
We ended up staying here unexpectedly a few weeks ago after an unfortunate circumstance at a different Zurich Sorrell. Happily, we were in good hands and the room was extremely large and included a balcony. Seefeld is not in the center - and yet it is blocks away. Trams 2 and 4 or a five minute walk bring you to Stadelhofen. The staff was lovely and let us leave our luggage anticipating we could probably check in a tad early as they cleaned the room. Coffee is in the room and the breakfast provided had many offerings. The waitstaff were sweet and happy. We had room 507 which I recommend for being on the top floor. It has air conditioning which is nice in Zurich when it’s hot. The bed was comfortable and the pillows are fabulous. I would have liked hair conditioner. It’s a good value and a great location. If you read my other Sorrell hotel review you will see how I ended up in Seefeld. Disregard the reply from the manager. It’s in bad faith and he did not find us a room. We had the first night booked weeks before. What happened is we made a second booking (all through a travel agent) and it was a mix up on room size). Interesting the response blames the guest (again!) but happily this Sorrell does not seem to be connected except in name so perhaps it’s a franchise. In fact, the manager we encountered at Sorrell St Peter counseled us not to stay in seefeld at the Sorrell. We were glad we paid no attention.

Ameron Zurich Bellerive au Lac

Seefeld Zurich|0.72km from Le Corbusier House
We had a terrible experience on the second night of the stay: We went out for city tour in the morning and when we come back to the room in the afternoon, our room is like being robbed, 3 out of 4 suitcases are missing, the bathroom is only half way clean, balcony door left open, most clothes hanging in the wardrobe are missing. I called front office immediately and i have been told that housekeeping had found the door of wardrobe is broken and has a risk of falling, so for safety reason, therefore, they have transferred our suitcases to the new room. so here are the question: 1. Why there are only half of my belongings are being transferred to the new room? You either transferred all my belongings to the new room, but not just half of it, it is so scary when you back to your room which it is like a crime scene! 2. Is it normal for a luxury hotel to touch guest's personal belonging without permission of the guest? 3. If the hotel find it a safety issue inside the room, why do they still let the guest go into the room? That kind of put the guest in a dangerous environment that may get injured! 4. Have the hotel ever tried to contact the guest, by phone/email of such incident had happened in the room? or worst case, to stop me to get in to the room, when i passed by front desk before get back to the room? none of it had been done In short, this is not acceptable for any hotel, not talking about Ameron is a luxury brand, the hotel has poor risk management, this is my first time using this brand and I don't think there will be a second chance, terrible experience and even on the checked out date, no one care to ask how was my stay.

Boutique Hotel Helmhaus Zurich
4.4/559 Reviews
The hotel is located in the old city of Zurich, in a good location, right next to the Grissmunster cathedral, across the street from the Limmat river, and convenient to every location in the old city. It is a 15-minute walk from the central railway station, and can also take 2 light rail stations. Close to Bahnhofstrasse, the service staff is very welcoming, in a hotel like Switzerland it is considered to be large, the room is still floor and very warm. Staying in the hotel has a touch of history.

Small Luxury Hotel Ambassador Zurich

The Ambassador is a newly renovated hotel just off the lake in Zurich. Old town and shopping just minutes away. Train station and tour busses a 30-minute walk Staff was very friendly and the room was very comfortable and clean. WiFi didn't work but got a passcode for the business WiFi instead. Television also had some issues (kept rebooting). But, we chalk that up to a new place. Everything else was great!

Hotel Hottingen

Zürichberg
Conveniently located, the number 3 tram stop is right next to the hotel. The two-star hotel, breakfast buffet is relatively simple, but also basically has the category. Fruit, hot milk, coffee, cold milk and cereals, juice, a variety of bread, meat, cheese, and an egg cooker can cook eggs yourself. There are four beds in the quadruple room. The hand washing, the toilet and the shower room are separate and convenient. Health is very good. No disposable toothbrushes are provided. There is no air conditioner but there is a fan to catch up with the heat wave in Europe. It is very comfortable to open the window and sleep at night. Overall it is a small and exquisite small hotel, recommended.
