The hotel is located within walking distance from the station (but NOT with ski equipment) at the Ylläsjärvi side of the resort. I have to say that the reception staff was friendly beyond expectations and the breakfast was also better than average (especially when compared with other Finnish hotels).
I could go again. We had a room with in room stairs to the loft and those were extremely steep and hard to climb for an adult. Anyway, kids were happy to get their own nest from the upper level. As always, Finnish hotels rarely are equipped with decent cooking during the summer months. I have no doubts that during the winter the rooms will be warm but during the hot summer days they could be cooler.
The family room was very nice, but the fifth person was considered an extra bed and slept on a sofa. The hotel ground floor was great for watching the Northern Lights, and we saw them that night. There seemed to be a sauna in the bathroom, but we didn't try it as we didn't know how to use it. The hotel breakfast was an English breakfast, and the hotel entrance offered views of the ski resort.
It was an experience out of the world during our stay here. We arrived early wanting to drop our bags but they allowed us to check in early anyway as our room was ready.
The cabin itself was clean and spacious enough for 2 people. The bathroom floor was heated which was nice. We got to even see the northern lights from our bed even though it only lasted for less than a minute. One thing to note is cabins are located quite near to one another and with the glass panels, you don't get total privacy. Make sure to request for a cabin off the stretch of main road to have more privacy.
We had breakfast and dinner here. Options were quite limited but understandable given the location. All dishes were labelled clearly, and we had no issues as vegetarians. We even saw some neighbourhood squirrels enjoying their breakfast.
The place is very modern and managed commercially as a business, with everything extra requiring extra charges (you may even pay for staff to pick up your bags from your cabin to the main reception, which is a 2-5 min walk affair).
Despite this, we think it's still worth trying out for a night to have something that's different.
Artic Snowhotel is a nice place to stay if you need to take a break from the city. Overall the room was nice, and the view was good.
However, the only thing I felt disappointed is the location is quite far from city and it was very difficult for us to order car/taxi, even when you had already ordered the car, you also need to wait for 25mins for them to come. This is the only headache thing when you stay here but if you think positively, it will be a high chance to see the aurora if during your stay the aurora reaches its strongest intensity as it was far from city.
The service here is quite good, the staff in the recee will give you some useful advice if you ask, room is really awesome, geting a nice view from the balcony. The breakfast is also good.
服务很好,房间有阳台,浴室,桑拿房。风景很好,周边有几个餐厅可以吃饭。早餐也不错
Very good location, very close to Naatamo supermarket, the surrounding environment is very beautiful, the whole is very clean and quiet, Jaana also gave me a very timely help, I stayed here for 8 nights, thank you very much for everything here, I will come back again.
We stayed in an igloo. Although it was cloudy and we couldn't see the aurora, we felt very peaceful and relaxed when we lay in bed and looked up at the sky and the surrounding environment. The receptionist was very friendly and proactive in helping us. When we took photos by the stove, she took the initiative to light the firewood, which added to the atmosphere.

Never expect such a beautiful resort. Away from City but a good location for leisure. Nice breakfast, friendly staffs and a very good service.
I recently had the privilege of staying at Apukka Resort in Rovaniemi, Finland, and it was undoubtedly the highlight of my Scandinavian journey. From the moment I arrived in this snowy wonderland, with daily temperatures around -7°C, to my cozy cabin room, everything about Apukka was simply amazing. Having to see the mesmerizing Northern Lights from my bed was a dream come true. The comfortable bed, warm water, and the delicious food served at the restaurant made each moment special. The view of the frozen lake was nothing short of magical; it felt like stepping into an AI painting turned real. Even in the cold, I had one of the best swing rides of my life with the view of the lake. As someone from warm and sunny Singapore, this escape to the cold was a unique and unforgettable experience. The reception team at Apukka was top-notch, and they even had a room ready for me when I arrived slightly earlier than check-in time, which was a great relief after my long journey from Copenhagen. But it wasn't just the accommodations and the views that made my stay exceptional. I also had the pleasure of experiencing a thrilling husky ride and learning about how these incredible dogs are trained from puppies to their role as working animals. The passion and knowledge of the guides who led this adventure were truly remarkable. The 'Meet the Reindeer' session was a delightful educational experience. I gained a newfound appreciation for these magnificent creatures and learned so much about their role in the local culture and environment. The guides who accompanied us during the husky and reindeer experiences were nothing short of amazing. Their expertise and enthusiasm added a whole new dimension to the trip. Apukka Resort delivered a magical and unforgettable experience. The comfortable bed, the regular appearance of the Northern Lights, the enriching encounters with huskies and reindeer, and the exceptional guides all contributed to making this trip one of the best times of my life. I highly recommend Apukka Resort to anyone seeking a un
Northern Lights Village in Saariselkä is an absolutely beautiful resort with an atmosphere that truly lives up to its name. During our stay, we were lucky enough to see the Northern Lights every day and almost every night, without needing to go outside for aurora hunting at all. Some nights, the aurora was incredibly strong, with vivid green and even red colors clearly visible. Seeing red aurora was especially rare and felt truly magical. One of the most unforgettable experiences was being able to lie comfortably in bed and watch the Northern Lights through the glass roof, right from the room. It was simply breathtaking and deeply impressive. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and always happy to help, with warm smiles that make guests feel well taken care of. The room is comfortable and thoughtfully designed, with heated floors, which is very nice in extreme winter conditions. On the first night, the room felt quite cold due to a power outage, so we had to sleep wearing warm clothes. On the second night, the temperature was much better and comfortable. Considering that the outside temperature dropped to around -40°C, the room may feel slightly cool at times, but overall it was still comfortable enough to sleep well. Bathroom amenities are mostly complete; however, toothbrushes and razors are not provided, which would be a nice improvement for a resort of this level. Other amenities are well prepared. Overall, Northern Lights Village offers an extraordinary and once-in-a-lifetime experience. Being able to see the Northern Lights so clearly and frequently, right from your bed, makes this place truly special. Highly recommended for anyone who dreams of experiencing the Northern Lights in the most comfortable and unforgettable way.
It's a really nice little cabin, a lot of space, and cozy warm space. It looks nicer than the pictures shown on the website. Great location too right at downtown of Saariselka, easy to park.
The airport transfer takes about 10 minutes, and it's a short walk to Santa Claus Village (5-10 minutes). Nearby, there’s the famous Santa’s Salmon Place, also around a 5-minute walk. At night, it can be quite dark, so a taxi is recommended if not driving. Most staff are nice, though there was some confusion regarding a 3-day, 2-night package that included complimentary main courses for both nights. Initially, it was misunderstood that it was only for one night, but after inquiring, one the staff quickly resolved it and made a reservation for us. But one of staff just rejected at the first time and made us confused. Breakfast was diverse and delicious. The rooms are scattered across different areas, and some may be a bit far, requiring a short walk on gravel paths. Staff assistance with luggage during check-in and check-out is commendable. Room cleanliness was slightly lacking, with hair on the bed and some debris on the floor, but it didn't greatly affect the stay. The glass-roofed igloos offer privacy with curtains, though light sleepers should be aware of morning light. Overall, noise insulation was good, and there was sufficient distance between rooms. Overall, quite a special experience

Seaside Glass Villa is a unique and memorable place to stay in Kemi. The hotel is conveniently located not far from the railway station, making it easy to reach, and it sits right next to a beautiful lake, offering a peaceful and scenic atmosphere. One of the highlights of the villa is the glass ceiling. While lying in bed, you can look directly up at the sky, which creates a very special experience. Unfortunately, during our stay we were not lucky enough to see the Northern Lights. The weather was extremely cold, almost -30°C, and even inside the room, the temperature felt quite cool. We had to sleep wearing at least one layer of warm clothing. The overall atmosphere of the resort is calm and pleasant. The view from the bedroom is stunning, with the frozen lake right in front of you and a clear view of the sky, which feels truly impressive and unforgettable, especially in winter. There are restaurants and a supermarket nearby, which is very convenient for guests. Despite the extreme cold, staying at Seaside Glass Villa was a unique experience, especially for those who enjoy nature, winter landscapes, and peaceful surroundings.
I caught the RV train from Helsinki, which was relaxing and a brilliant way to see the countryside. Arriving into Rovaniemi at 21:20, it was a short cab drive to the hotel, and with 24/7 reception checking was a breeze. Twin room 410 was well appointed, clean, and beds were comfortable; the room safe was easy to set and use. I appreciated the door chain for extra security and peaceful night sleep. Santas Hotel central location was excellent ,with the padestrian mall, shops, restaurants, and bars literally around the corner. Taxis could be found out front, and the santa/airport bus was only a short walk up the street. Though do pay attention to santa express pickup and drop-off times as they do not run that regularly. The buffet breakfast had something for everyone to enjoy! Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, and the Christmas decorations throughout the hotel made my inner child smile.😊 There are many attractions, so be sure to give yourself enough time to experience everything. I will definitely choose to stay again next time I travel to Rovaniemi. Sha, Sydney, Australia. 🇦🇺
CChris LumThis was a great location slightly out of the city to catch the Northern Lights without going on a tour (we saw it two nights out of two)! The glass cabins were well kept and clean, we were two adults and two teens and there was enough space for everyone. Note that this resort serves only five cabins and no one else, so the exclusivity is unsurpassed! It is also beside a frozen lake and you can walk to the middle to catch the auroras. A lot of nature activities to occupy the family in the daytime. Some recommendations would be the sauna+frozen lake dip, ice fishing and hiking to the rock church. The founder of the resort, Theo, is ultra friendly and nice and all the staff there (shoutout to Millie and Guillaume!) really go above and beyond to help make our stay there so memorable. All the photos uploaded I took with just my iphone16. All in I was extremely happy we chose this place for the Rovaniemi leg of our trip.
