A gem found by Jimalangs was originally an old house bought by a famous tennis player. The decoration was very elegant, the front desk service was especially good, and the bar brother was also very considerate. The breakfast was great, exquisite, and some were optional. It was not a long row, but I couldn't pick out the delicious one. There are also freshly cut mangoes, which is great.
But the only downside is that there is a bar downstairs, which is very noisy on Saturday night and can only sleep at 3 am.
The hotel is remodeled from an old villa, very beautiful and artistic, with a small garden in front. The hotel is not far from the city center and is within walking distance. The room is small, clean and bright. Free parking.
The most important thing — this is not really spa hotel. There is spa center across the road, but the only one benefit that you have as a guest of the hotel is 10% discount. In total if you want to have a spa, you must pay extra 30 euros per person per day. I think its not so fare for guests. And the second thing is that you have only scrambled eggs and bacon as a hot dish for the breakfast.
In the rest moments — everything is fine, staff is friendly, room was clean (but there is no fridge or mini-bar, that strange).
We came to spend a night in this hotel on Sunday Easter. Very nice and well designed hotel. The first double standard table we stayed was very small. We asked for change to one at the same level but with better view and were very reasonable.
The spa entrances were not controlled, which led to overtime of people at the time. The restaurant area is the same as breakfast area, and the food is median. It is preferable dinner in the city center since we are at 500m. very good breakfast.
Free parking very limited.

When I entered the monastery hotel in the mountains
I remember the stone also.
Portuguese architect De Mora didn't grind them down or return what they looked like six hundred years ago
He let the cracks stay
Let the ruined and daubed roofs licket like scars
Renovation completed in 1997
Now I sleep where the monks once walked.
New cement with old stones, modern glass outside is a 17th century wall.
Some of the restorations are not restorations, but the ruins are kept alive, and I have to say I find it romantic.
Like a human, with all the traces of modification.
Standing silently on the mountain
#BGM should be Li Zongsheng Hill at this moment
Uma quinta muito agradável. Queremos voltar mas da próxima vez no verão para nadar na piscina e tomar pequeno-almoço na esplanada.
A receção fecha 21h, então devem chegar antes.
3 days before the trip I was contacted by the Hotel saying the indoor pool would not be available for use. As I couldn't cancel the reservation I suggested that I could compensate for some of the impossibility of using the indoor pool. The next day they contacted me to say they offered me a welcome drink and traditional sweets, as well as the possibility of late check out.
On the day of the reservation, when I checked in, they told me that the indoor pool was already available for use, as I was not warned that I was not ready to use the pool. In addition, the offers that they had told me would be offered were not at any time realised.
I can only say that in terms of customer management, the service is not of any quality for a 4-star hotel. I have a very negative experience, which has ended up affecting a weekend escape. I do not recommend.

Great
The hotel is in an ancient monastery and it makes all the charm and attraction of the place if you like ”old stones and historical places”. The renovation has kept the original building and improved it to todays comfort. The rooms ( cells) are small but well fitted with a comfortable bed and functional bathroom. You can feel History when you enter the building and anywhere you walk . They have a big outdoor park for pleasant walks . The church adjacent to the Hotel is worth visiting. I was staying on a weekend and I attended the Sunday mass. My only negative note is on the breakfast which is very disappointing in terms of product variety and quality. The set up of the breakfast buffet is very poor and not attractive at all. The breakfast team is not as welcoming and friendly as the front desk or lady at the bar, which is not meeting one's expectations in such a place.
Hotel Rural Maria da Fonte offers a charming stay in an old building full of character, beautifully maintained and consistently clean. While the menu and room service still need attention, the property remains an excellent base for exploring this beautiful region of northern Portugal. In terms of pricing, it feels like affordable luxury for those who spend carefully, making it a balanced choice for thoughtful travellers. We stayed for three nights to celebrate a friend’s significant birthday, and the experience highlighted the hotel’s potential as an event venue. The hall, catering, staff, and the surrounding landscape create a compelling setting for anyone seeking a location for a wedding or a similar celebration. Overall, it’s a place with authenticity, warmth, and strong regional character.
The staff is very nice, polite and always with a smile 😃 😊 very welcoming indeed! The breakfast is delicious and plenty of choice!! Better than some fancy hotels 😋 the place also has a big pool, and farm animals (fish and dogs) that can be visited. Pet friendly 🐕🐕 Ah! They have a Chapel inside the property 🤩
I really liked the location and the new hotel was very clean. The breakfast included is very rich. I received a double bed, they offered four free drinks in the mini bar, check-in was at 1pm but they let us stay until later. I didn't take my pet and later I discovered that they accepted animals because I saw many customers with animals. Very good, I highly recommend it 😉 The spa and gym was included I loved it and would definitely go back. And the city of Braga is gorgeous😍
It is the best-located hotel to access tourist attractions. It is a modern hotel, but it doesn't seem to be a very new building. Parking lots are provided for a fee. It is a hotel that is enough for travelers to stay for a day comfortably.
The service was five star from the initial greeting through to check out. Accommodation was modern with glass doors and quality fittings plus a coffee machine which was a nice touch. Spa was very good although you need a shower cap for the pool and jacuzzi. Breakfast was excellent and they even provided gluten-free pastries which was a lovely touch. Finally, the vineyard and surrounding areas are stunning.
What a beautiful place -- more of a resort than a hotel. Lovely pool area with brilliant blooming plants, and just across the street from the beach. We enjoyed (and over-ate) the breakfast buffet. Our room was comfortable with a spacious bathroom, plenty of closet space, and a private balcony overlooking the pool. We wish our plans allowed a longer stay.
Sensible room sizes. I had the queen suite. Had a bath and separate shower and toilet. Air con in the room and a comfortable (what felt like a) king size bed. I didn’t use much of the facilities apart from the breakfast which was a continental style buffet and a station where they make omelettes of your choosing along with bacon and mini sausages.
