The Castle Green Hotel in Kendal, BW Premier Collection is an ideal spot for travelers wanting to discover the city. The Castle Green Hotel in Kendal, BW Premier Collection is an ideal choice for travelers who want to take in the sights and sounds of Kendal. With Kendal just 2km away and Leeds Bradford Airport only 86km away, transportation is very convenient. Keeping busy is easy, with Holy Trinity & St George, Gooseholme Park and Kendal all nearby. In their spare time, guests can explore the hotel's surroundings. This Kendal hotel features parking on site. This hotel is a popular accommodation for guests traveling with families.

"I'm originally from Kendal, but now live overseas. I stayed here to visit family locally and thought I'd treat myself to a nice hotel after not being back for several years. This place was NOT a treat. On checking in, the reception staff member asked me to pay for my stay (obviously I'd already prepaid on trip.com). When I pointed this out, she became quite rude. We were put in the room right next to the office, and we could hear the staff chatting at all hours. The noise in the corridor from other guests woke us up several times during the night (despite the ”Quiet” signage). There was a fire alarm at 6am the next morning. Everyone had to evacuate for a good 45 mins in the rain while we waited for the fire brigade...not even an offer of a free breakfast or coffee or anything afterwards. There's no air con in the rooms, they're really small, the bathroom is tiny and there's not a lot of room to put your stuff. The à la carte restaurant is overpriced and the food was under/overcooked (how can you not know how to cook a potato?). Personally I'd not recommend this hotel when there's a Premier Inn in town..."

MMartin Lee UnitedGot an upgrade to a bigger room, which was very spacious with a TV area. Room was very clean and the service at the hotel was exceptional. Mark was very helpful. The tourist area is just a short walk away. You won't regret staying here.

GGuest UserThe room was very nice, with swan bath towels. The environment was nice, between two towns, with the bus station just outside. The shop was run by a couple, the breakfast was delicious and the quantity was large, so make reservations in advance. A good stay experience.

GGuest UserOverall, the hotel’s cleanliness was excellent; however, the service was disappointing—starting at the reception, where staff made promises they failed to keep and evaded their responsibilities. I had handed over clothes for dry cleaning, but they were returned having undergone standard washing instead. Furthermore, the clothes were not clean, and an expensive shirt was ruined. The staff refused to take responsibility, claiming I had not specified dry cleaning—which was untrue—though I was eventually paid £100 in compensation. That was my experience during my stay.

GGuest UserUpon arrival there was nobody at the front desk so I waited. The woman I was somewhat greated by was far from pleasant and didn’t seem like she wanted to be there at all. Nothing was explained and no information leaflet for me to read through in my own time. When given my room key I started walking through the lobby but couldn’t see any signs for my room number. Went back to the desk to ask where to go for my room and was told ‘just follow it round’. Very unhelpful and unwelcoming, not sure this lady should be at the face of the hotel. Plus side, room was beautiful and well kept/clean. I was also lake side so got to watch the sunrise with my morning cuppa. Very refreshing views.

GGuest UserHotel was clean, plenty of parking, good breakfast No information in rooms, was advised that they didn’t like clutter, so any questions we had we had to go to reception to ask. No wifi, channels on tv not tuned in, had to pay to use the spa facilities.

MManchesterBeeLet’s start with the absolute best part of the stay: stepping out of the back of the hotel. The mature gardens stretch right down to the water’s edge, complete with the hotel's own private jetty. Sitting out on the terrace with a coffee in the morning, watching the mist rise off Windermere and the boats drift past, is worth a massive chunk of the room rate alone. Because it’s located right in the heart of Bowness-on-Windermere, the convenience is unbeatable. You can park up (fair warning: parking is a hefty £25 per day) and completely forget about your car. The Bowness boat piers are a two-minute stroll away, and you are surrounded by local pubs and restaurants.

QQiqiIt happened to be a wedding when I went there. The lobby was full of enthusiastic and cheerful foreigners. There was a dog on duty at the front desk, and it was very well behaved. If you bring children, you need to pay an additional 30 yuan per dog. This, uh... it would be good without this fee. The free buffet breakfast on the second day was good. After ordering coffee, the waiter brought it. There was self-service milk and drinking water in the corridor. Parking is free, and the parking lot is quite large. Basically, you don’t have to worry about having no place, because even if the wedding was full of people the day before, there are still a few parking spaces. Although it is gloomy, rainy, windy and snowy every day in the UK, we saw the long-lost starry sky here.

GGuest UserThe hotel experience was quite poor. We checked in at around 4 o'clock that day. Even the front desk receptionist couldn't find the room we were given. After checking in, we found that the two double beds we booked were actually one double bed and two simple single beds. We went to the front desk to negotiate and were told that the rooms were full and there was a solution at the second level. At 10 o'clock in the evening, when we were ready to go to bed, we found that one of the simple beds had collapsed. When we turned over the sheets, we found that three wooden bars were missing. We went to the front desk to negotiate again. The night manager said that he was only the restaurant manager and could only add a mattress first and solve it the next day. As a result, the simple bed was only replaced with a wire bed the next day, which was not as good as the mattress the night before. The next night, we went to the bar on the first floor to consume with the 5-pound voucher for not cleaning the room. After ordering, we found that the bill price was different from the price we had just arrived. After checking, it was indeed a problem with the bar's price system, but when the bartender came back with the menu, he threw the menu next to us, and his expression when delivering the meal was also quite unhappy. Hypocritical British apology. This hotel is not worth the price at all.
