This was a very well organised trip! Mr Da Yang our driver took such good care of us. Even though he couldn’t speak English, he communicated with us using the WeChat in app translation feature which was very effective - communication on meet up times and locations were very clear. If you’re looking for a relaxed trip where you don’t feel rushed and don’t feel the need for a heavily guided tour, this will be perfect for you. Lunch was really good too - home style Chinese food, very tasty. Using WeChat is a must of course for a seamless experience with the driver and company. Overall, it was wonderful and unforgettable. Thank you so much!

The driver picked us up at 6:45 AM and gave each of us an oxygen cylinder. We were exhausted after a long day of sightseeing, so we took the highway back. The whole tour was rather rushed, a bit of a whirlwind tour. We didn't go inside the Harmony Pagoda (middle pagoda). It was marked as including the entrance fee, but after asking customer service, they said we might be pressured to buy things inside, so we didn't go in. We only had one hour to visit Tiger Leaping Gorge. Without buying elevator tickets, it felt rushed. I recommend buying separate elevator tickets. One of us qualified for free admission to Tiger Leaping Gorge, and the driver refunded us the 45 yuan entrance fee. We didn't choose horseback riding on the grassland. The driver took us on a drive around the lake, and the scenery was beautiful. We stopped at several viewpoints along the way, but they were all just average and not very interesting. I wouldn't recommend buying anything from the viewpoints. Lunch was terrible, so be prepared. You might want to bring some hot pot base or something. The driver was very nice. 👍

Our family of 4 drove with Mr. Suerbu (苏尔布). Mr. Suerbu was the friendliest, safest, and most helpful driver / tour guide that we have had in China! He arrived early to pick us up, but allowed us to take our time, which was important and relaxing for our large group. On the trip he made masterful use of both his own translation app and our preferred app and AI to help inform and guide us through our travels. He gave us the option of taking the new highway towards Tiger Leaping Gorge, which was an affordable, time saver. We stopped at a variety of beautiful viewpoints, each with toilets and a variety of snack offerings. Once at the Gorge, Mr. Suerbu helpfully procured our tickets while we casually walked to the bus and he gave us helpful information for our trip down the stairs and up the escalators. Afterwards, he helped us find a wonderful restaurant! Mr. Suerbu was so informative and fun to chat with on the rest of the trip to Shangrila. We will definitely seek him out next time.

If you have come to Lijiang, you absolutely must travel to Tiger Leaping Gorge and Shangri-La, right? The grandeur of the snow-capped mountains and the powerful currents of the gorge provide powerful energy to those weary from their daily lives! It is incredibly difficult for foreigners to undertake this journey on their own. Our Yi friend, who served as both guide and driver, busily picked us up from dawn and dropped us off right near our hotel at the very end! He purchased our tickets for us and explained the diverse unique cultures of ethnic minorities well during the trip. The time management for each itinerary was perfect, and he provided plenty of oxygen tanks and water, so we were able to travel comfortably despite the high altitude! The vehicle was very clean, and since it was an 8-seater van, we were able to rest even during the long journey! I want to express my gratitude to our Yi driver! Thanks to your kindness, our trip to Lijiang was incredibly enjoyable!

Very grateful to Mr Wang with license plate number RM2509 for arranging the tour for us. Pickup time at every tour location is very accurate. Mr Wang will give us a pin location so that we can easily navigate our way back to the pick up point because a lot of places in the itinerary aren't very accessible by public car. Also, the places in the itinerary requires A LOT of walking and stairs climbing especially the temple and songzanlin monastery. So, if you planned to climb Jade Dragon Snow Mountain first, give it a couple days of resting before going to Shangri-La because your legs is going to be ON FIRE from all the stairs climbing. Mr Wang provided 1 portable oxygen can for each person, I'd recommend to get 1 or 2 more extra before departure to Shangri-La because the air is thin. Don't even think about speed walking because you're going to ran out of breath after 10 steps. Wear full waterproof clothing or raincoat to TLG because the raging gorge might splash you like i did.
