Tour guide Zhang Guoxing's explanations are humorous and easy to understand, turning the history of the Forbidden City and Jingshan Park into engaging stories. His relaxed and considerate pace makes it perfect for taking children to listen and immerse themselves in the history of the ancient capital. After the Forbidden City tour, it was just my friend, my two children, and I—a total of four people—to go to Jingshan Park. He was still as dedicated and responsible as ever in his explanations.

We went on a group tour; there were about 20 of us. Because of the rain, there were fewer people, but still a lot. However, we quickly bought tickets, and our first group headed off with a very young guide, Alina. She studied Russian in China and also visited St. Petersburg for six months, and today she gave her first tour! So, I'd really like to commend her, as she has a pretty good Russian accent. Of course, she mixes up our endings, but I'm sure with some practice she'll become more confident in our difficult Russian. We understood everything throughout our short tour. In fact, the tour itself was supposed to be 2 hours long (covering the history of the landmark), but the tour itself and the history were over in about 40 minutes, and then there was free time, as they say. Honestly, the tour was dry, literally: "The emperor lived here, and the empress was here, they ate here, they rested here." Add more interesting historical facts

Great tour of the Forbidden City. The guide planned everything very well, provided clear and informative explanations, and covered all the important areas. The pace was comfortable, with well-timed breaks along the way. Overall, a very enjoyable and well-organised experience. Highly recommended!

If you decide to go without a tour, you should definitely do two things: be prepared for a long line and study information about the place in advance to understand the full scale 🤲 So take a tour to avoid all this 😅 And, of course, visiting Beijing and not visiting the Forbidden City is strange 😑

Melonie was amazing, no complaints at all. Even though the weather was not ideal, she kept her cool, and was very nice to everyone. The meeting point was easy to find, she sent very thoughtful instructions on WhatsApp before our visit. We connected on WeChat so if someone got lost they could call her and if we had any questions she answered patiently. She sends additional info on what to see, where to go, where to eat etc.
