The hotel is conveniently located within walking distance of the JR station, and popular attractions like the Hida Takayama Old Town are just a 10-minute walk away. Coming back to the hotel for a relaxing hot spring bath in the evening was wonderful. The hotel's breakfast was also quite good. Highly recommended!

This hotel was absolutely wonderful! The location is incredibly convenient, just a 3-minute walk from Takayama Station, which has a FamilyMart right next to it for easy shopping. Hida Kokubun-ji Temple is also only a 3-minute walk away, and next to the temple is the famous Maruaki restaurant, known for its Hida beef. The hotel itself is very quiet, and the room was spotlessly clean and surprisingly spacious. There was plenty of room to open our luggage, which is a huge plus in Japan where rooms can often be tiny and make moving around difficult – not a problem here at all! The bathroom also had a separate wet and dry area, and every part of it was clean. Overall, I was extremely satisfied, especially considering the low price and the excellent service from the front desk. I honestly think this was the best hotel of my entire trip to Japan. If I had to pick any downsides, one would be that the hand soap was a bit drying, so ladies might want to bring hand cream. The other is that the pillows were a little firm, but these are minor issues that don't detract from the overall excellent experience. If I ever have the chance to visit Takayama again, I will definitely stay here!

We had a pleasant stay at this hotel. The room was spacious and very clean. It’s nice that hotel guests can enjoy a parking discount. The Onsen fee structure is similar to most hotels in Japan. The private Onsen was quite fully booked during my stay, so I used the public Onsen instead. It was modern and comfortable, though I wasn’t entirely sure if it was a real Onsen or just a regular hot bath. Overall, it was an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

I had a very pleasant stay at fav Hida Takayama! The hotel offers spacious and comfortable rooms, which felt surprisingly large for Japan and made it easy to unpack and relax — especially great for families or groups. Many rooms even come with useful amenities like a kitchenette, washing machine, and separate bath and toilet areas, adding extra convenience for longer stays

This hotel is super convenient, just a three-minute walk from Takayama Station as shown on the map. The room was clean and well-maintained. Taking a dip in the upstairs hot spring bath at night was incredibly relaxing and helped wash away the day's fatigue. While it's a bit of a walk to the morning market and other attractions, the overall experience was good.

The room with onsen is very good. The room size is large and there’re indoor & outdoor onsen in your room. The water is always full in bathtub and quite hot. You can relax all time in your room. The breakfast and dinner are Japanese food. You may book the time of your meal during check in. The last dinner time is 18:30 hrs.

The room does not have private toilets and bathrooms. I hope Ctrip can improve the room description. The hotel is very clean, even the public toilets and bathrooms are very clean. I didn't see other guests using them, so it's quite convenient. The soundproofing is not good, but I don't mind. The front desk service can score 70 points in Japan. Bread and tea were given in the morning, which was not in the agreed no-breakfast setting, so this is a plus. It is very close to the station, a 5-minute walk, very convenient.

CCircledropStayed January 2-3, 2026 First and foremost, the SPA/onsen is really good! Dipping yourself in the bath while the snow hits you during the night feels good as well. Glad I visited since the hotel will undergo a renovation/rebranding this year 2026. ======== Stay information I availed: Standard japanese room (Non-Smoking) 6th-floor, mountain-side, near elevator ======== Reception: 5/5 The hotel staff at the reception is so accommodating, kind, and friendly. They will answer your concerns as well whether in japanese or english. (I do use japanese for ease of conversation but you can converse in english with no problems). Their reception picks up the local call (ext22) fast as well from the room if you have concerns. Room: 4/5 (I swear I can give 5 if only they got outlets for use..) If you got heavy or many baggages, they do offer a cart! This is really good since you can bring your baggages much easier. As for the room, since I availed the japanese room, it comes with the standard genkan, a powder/sink area, a bathroom, and the tatami-floored room. I highly suggest the rooms at the 6th floor since you got direct access to SPA wing / Onsen connection without waiting or using the elevator. The futon is simply very comfy and soft, the pillow got that hardness you may like, no foul or smelly odors as well. But the best part of the room? The view! The room i got has the mountain side, so I got the alps/mountain view. During the night and morning, I was greeted as well with a sunny heavy snow day. It truly became a majestic white world in a single night. As someone with multiple gadgets, i could’ve wished for more outlets (the room only had 2, one is used for the lamp and the other is behind the television). I suggest bringing a space extension cord. Bath/onsen: 5/5 おすすめ! The bath. It’s fantastic. The 7th floor onsen and the 5th floor onsen of the spa wing switches the allowed gender daily, due to this, overnight or 2 days or above occupants may be able to enjoy both! (For Example, on day 1 [7F: ladies, 5F: gents], then on day 2 [7F: gents, 5F: ladies]) The layout is almost the same, but the 7th floor got the better highlight as it is the roof top = higher ceiling, more open air bath. Please do follow the general/common etiquette of bathing at a onsen in japan! Do so and you may elevate your japanese way of bathing experience. - no photography - public bathing, other people may see you naked - strictly no tattoos! Wanna hit the onsen? There are many ways to enjoy it, but the general rule is to never soil dirty the bath, for bathing steps, follow the following pattern: 1. shower/clean yourself 2. Put your squeezed, not-dripping onsen towel at your head without touching the water, dip on the onsen for few minutes until your shoulders (indoor) (Optional) Rinse yourself with mild-colder water in shower 3. Go out to the open-air onsen and try the different type of baths! 4. Stay-safe and enjoy! (Know your limits! Do finish your bathing if you already feel lightheadedness or headache to prevent heat stroke) Access: 5/5 (solo on-foot traveler) They got shuttle bus from Takayama station that comes every hour, it even runs late. Don’t worry. As for the bus schedule, the hotel provides them on their website. However, since this is on outskirt of the city, you don’t have much a stroll option unless you have a car. Other activities: They got Bar and Karaoke rooms as well! Sadly they only got 2 karaoke rooms, wished I could’ve availed them early! 😣 ========= Overall, it’s a great experience! I do recommend them to others who will visit takayama to relax as well. I really wished I could’ve stayed longer!

TTiaodongzhongdexiaoshumiao[”1: The service was really lacking. I had two large suitcases and it was pouring rain, but no one helped me get them into the car. There was no bell boy. The old man at the front desk only helped with my shoes. His English was terrible. When I called the front desk at night, no one could speak English.”,”2: The rooms in the main building are quite spacious and comfortable, but there are no showers in the rooms. You have to go to the large public bath for a shower, and there's only a toilet in the room. If you're traveling with children, definitely don't stay in the main building, unless you're lucky enough to get the room the Emperor stayed in!”,”3: The breakfast was incredibly disappointing. Compared to other onsen hotels, their breakfast was very, very meager.”,”4: The hot spring water is truly excellent; it's wonderful for your skin.”]

GGuest UserThe hotel is settled in the middle of Gero Hot Spring town, short walk from the train station and can also be reached via bus from Kamikochi area. The hotel itself is very clean and well maintained. You can feel the spirit of older times in this hotel with a lot of beautifully selected decoration pieces. The manager showed us around and even offered us a new room since I accidentally booked one without shower (we declined that offer since we only wanted to stay for one night). That’s why we used the Onsen area for showering which is beautiful and includes all amenities. View above Gero and including an outside Onsen area to watch the sunrise. The staff was very friendly, the manager even drove us to the bus station since we forgot our jackets in the bus. The bar is well-equipped and a great place for a drink or two. One of the best parts was the breakfast. Never had such a good Japanese breakfast before- delicious, served in a private room, beautifully arranged. Next time we want to try their dinner :-) We felt like family and I can recommend anyone going to Gero to stay at this great hotel! Thanks again for your hospitality!

FFakaixinThis hotel offers apartment-style rooms, each equipped with an induction cooktop and a microwave. The rooms feature two 1.4-meter double beds and are quite spacious and comfortable. It was a huge relief to move here, especially after staying in such a small hotel the night before. The hotel breakfast is simple, but the coffee is good. There's a FamilyMart convenience store across the street where you can buy delicious black pork buns for 10 RMB each. Be sure to request a high-floor room at the front desk; you can see the snow-capped mountains in the distance! The view is absolutely stunning! Amazing! Ctrip isn't the direct booking agent for this hotel; Agoda is the primary agent. My booking confirmation and room key details were sent to my Agoda email, which I couldn't access. When checking in, remember to take a photo of the screen to save the QR code and the door lock password. The hotel is very close to Takayama Station and even closer to the Nohi Bus Center. If you're planning to go to Shirakawa-go from Takayama, staying at this hotel is incredibly convenient. The main street is directly in front of the hotel, and a one-kilometer walk will take you to the Old Town/Miyagawa Morning Market.
