An unexpectedly delightful stay! The hotel facilities were incredibly spacious. The room was huge, and our mountain-view room offered views of Mount Fuji. The hotel features a hot spring bath with multiple relaxation areas, offering not only ice water but also fruit vinegar. The lobby floor has a lounge that's open in the afternoon and evening, providing a variety of snacks (dried fruits, cheese, crisps, candies), soft drinks, juices, and various alcoholic beverages. You can stargaze on the rooftop, surrounded by a spectacular 180-degree starry sky. The breakfast area has two sections, offering a wide array of breakfast items and desserts. A thoughtful touch: the front desk even calls your room before breakfast ends to remind you to eat! 👍 Furthermore, the children's play area is excellent, spanning two half-levels with balls, board games, books, a board game section, a small toy truck area, and large climbing play structures. It's truly perfect for families with children. 😍😍 I recommend checking in a bit early. 😊
Highland Resort & Spa Hotel is at excellent location, the express bus station from Tokyo is right by the door step. Although there is a theme park next door it didn’t seem to be open or busy. I booked a room for 3 nights with Mt Fuji view. And I was lucky enough to wake up to view of Mt. Fuji for 2 days. On the day I checked out, there was heavy snow, and I couldn’t see anything out of my window.
Hotel has a very big Onsen connected to the it which is free for hotel guest. Hotel had a few restaurants, the buffet breakfast was very good. The macron club Restaurant serves lovely Italian cuisine and a few Asian dishes. I had a very delicious lunch there.
Highland Hotel is closed to Kawaguchi Lake and Yamanakako lake.
Huge thanks to Toyoko Inn for their meticulous arrangements! The staff were warm and patient, and the shuttle bus was incredibly convenient with frequent services. We also took advantage of the hotel's free direct bus to Mishima, which is great for accessing the Shinkansen to various destinations. Best of all, the hotel arranged a top-floor room with a Mount Fuji view, allowing us to watch the sunrise from our room! The room itself was fantastic and spotlessly clean. All in all, staying at Toyoko Inn in Kawaguchiko was absolutely the right choice!
The location and view are excellent, it was close to Mt. Fuji. With clear and good weather, you are able to see Mt. Fuji with a specular view. The staff provides excellent service to the quests. If I am really critical, it just doesn't have a gym room. Breakfast and dinner are great too, high quality! Highly recommended!
We like the traditional Japanese room experience. The bed is very comfortable.
The indoor onsen is okay. The outdoor onsen condition is not very nice and quite small.
Their restaurant serves breakfast and dinner. We enjoyed the food a lot. Definitely to book a night with set dinner. Very friendly staffs.
The shuttle service ryokan provides after 1430 comes very handy especially with luggages and kids standing in the cold. Saves the hassle of taking the red bus line.
Every room has a view of fuji-san which is just amazing. U can catch the breathtaking sunrise and sunset view right in the room.
Food is perhaps the other major highlight of staying at ryokans, and the food at Fuji Ginkei are mostly hits. The kaiseki dinner is so satisfying even though they are serving in small portions. And they tasted amazing. The ryokan also included small snacks for guests to enjoy in room with sencha.
They even put together a small celebration platter for us! Highly recommended. 🙌🏻
An absolutely wonderful stay! It was the perfect cozy companion for my solo trip to Mount Fuji.
The location is super convenient. I took a bus from Kawaguchiko, and it was just a five-minute walk from the bus stop. Getting to the lake is also just a few minutes on foot.
The service was outstanding! One of the ladies working there was incredibly attentive and caring. She even gave me a small gift and thoughtfully arranged for my e-bike to be charged, which made my 15km bike ride around the lake possible.
The room was very spacious, with a small coffee table perfect for enjoying the mountain view, and another small table for eating snacks and catching up on shows. The two futons were very comfortable and offered plenty of space. The hot spring bath on the first floor was clean and relaxing. The room photos I took truly show how close it is to Mount Fuji.
Breakfast isn't provided, but you can buy food at a convenience store and prepare it yourself in the dining area.
I will definitely come back next time! It's a great value for money choice.
Stayed several times and was very satisfied every time. The kaiseki dinner was delicious, the service was attentive, the staff were polite, and the hot spring bath was also good. This time I also saw the custom of praying for ”Daimonyaki”
I recently stayed at this hotel and had an exceptional experience that I am eager to share!
From the moment I arrived, the service was outstanding. The staff greeted me with warm smiles and went above and beyond to ensure that every aspect of my stay was comfortable. They were attentive, friendly, and always willing to help with any requests.
The meals were truly a highlight of my visit. Each dish was beautifully presented and bursting with flavor. Dining at the hotel was not just a meal; it was a delightful culinary experience that I looked forward to every day.
The (onsen) facilities were equally impressive. The tranquil atmosphere and stunning views enhanced the overall experience, making it the perfect retreat to relax and unwind.
Overall, I highly recommend 富士河口湖温泉鄉.湖南荘Hotel to anyone looking for a luxurious and relaxing getaway. I can’t wait to return!

Very Good
GGuest UserThe hotel rooms are super large, if you park the hotel is providing free parking, there is a large hot spring and amusement ride twister
The room and breakfast place overlooked Mt
MM238400****I booked this room specifically for the Mt. Fuji view. It was much cheaper than other hotels in the area, but really, all you're getting is the view and a place to sleep. I hadn't booked a room with an outdoor hot spring, but there wasn't even a bathtub in the bathroom, nor a large public bath. For this price, I really think there should be a tub. For meals, sukiyaki was the only option, so thankfully I'd bought some ready-to-eat meals at 7-Eleven. The view was good though.

SShanghaiqianqianThis hotel might be the best value for money by the lake. It's directly facing Lake Kawaguchiko, and Mount Fuji is right to the left, so you can enjoy beautiful views without even leaving the hotel. The breakfast buffet is incredibly rich and the hotel service is excellent. Highly recommended!
SStephaniezdpThe room is a Japanese-style tatami, and there's a hot spring right on the first floor, located by Lake Kawaguchiko. Dining at night can be a bit of a hassle; if you don't want to eat at the hotel, you'll need to walk about ten minutes to an izakaya. Be sure to check the bus schedule at the entrance beforehand, otherwise, it's nearly a 20-minute walk to Kawaguchiko Station. There are buses to the outlet mall at 9:10 AM and 10:10 AM, but on popular days, it's advisable to buy tickets in advance as there might not be seats available if you buy on the spot. On-site purchases require a credit card or cash; Alipay and WeChat are not accepted. I imagine Lake Kawaguchiko would be beautiful during cherry blossom season, but in winter, I personally prefer staying at Lake Yamanakako for the beautiful lakeside cycling.
GGuest UserIt is very nice hotel, good facilities, nice view, clean and good mind good service of reservations. They have break time for snack, tea, coffee and good breakfast buffet. There is confortable to walk from bus station around 1 km and near ropeway Kawaguchiko only 10 meters and also near Kawaguchiko Lake. You can have activities with your family such as pedaling duck boat, ride a bicycle.
LLindavidAlthough the room is only 19 square meters, it's a really comfortable榻榻米 hotel. The space is actually quite sufficient and doesn't feel cramped at all. Plus, the accompanying Kaiseki dinner at the hotel was truly excellent – I ate so much I was stuffed! I highly recommend coming back for a second stay; it's a five-star hotel! For travelers living in Australia, the price of this hotel is very reasonable, offering great value for money!
JJiewaishengzhi7This hotel is about a 30-minute walk from Kawaguchiko Station, roughly 2 kilometers. The room offers a direct view of Mount Fuji, which I found quite beautiful. They also provide free access to a hot spring bath, and it wasn't crowded. I'd give it an 8 out of 10.
TThe Lost Forest MumWe truly wished we could have stayed longer.
We initially booked Kawaguchiko Country Cottage Ban because of its convenient location near the Maple Leaves Festival area, but the stay turned out to be far better than we expected, and we truly wished we could have stayed longer. The cottages are peaceful, spacious, and surrounded by fresh air, a perfect retreat after exploring Kawaguchiko.
The house is huge, complete with a small kitchen, washroom and toilet, a cosy tatami room, and a bedroom with four single beds. It felt like a private holiday home with plenty of space for families.
Parking is extremely convenient, you can park your car right at the doorstep. A playground and a paid laundry area are also located just outside, which is very useful for families and longer stays. At the registration building, a vending machine offering hot drinks and cigarettes adds extra convenience, especially early in the morning.
We loved the breakfast delivered right to our doorstep, the freshly made bread was warm and soft, and the hot soup was flavourful. We also bought hot coffee from the vending machine as an extra treat.
The property provides onsen facilities, perfect for relaxing at the end of the day. Our cottage balcony offered an unobstructed sunrise view, and watching the morning light rise over the landscape was one of the most memorable moments of our stay.
A spacious and peaceful cottage stay with doorstep parking, playground, onsen, vending machines, breakfast delivery, and the perfect location for autumn maple events . We truly wished we could stay longer. 🏡🍁🌅🗻✨
VVeRGiThe hotel is easily reachable from the station either by feet or using the shuttle provided. It's a bit far from the lake but if you enjoy walking you want have any issue.
It was nice to sleep in a traditional room which was well equipped and also comfortable.
One thing to take into account: if you book a room with the view of Mount Fuji bear in mind there will be poles blocking the view. Not a big deal but do not expect a clear and unblocked view.
Lastly, at the onsen tattoes are not accepted.
