Excellent location, generous service, and authentic charm near Registan.
We stayed at Shahram Plus SH for one night, with a short extension, and had a wonderful experience.
The location is excellent. It is in a quiet local neighborhood, just a short walking distance from Registan Square, the mausoleums, and the nearby bazaar. It feels peaceful and authentic while still being very convenient for sightseeing.
The courtyard is beautiful and traditional, with a charming and authentic design that reflects the local culture. Our room was very large and spacious, easily accommodating three guests. It was beautifully decorated, well heated, and also equipped with air conditioning. There were plenty of outlets for charging devices, which is always appreciated while traveling.
The bathroom was spacious and included a large bathtub and a western-style toilet. Free drinking water is available in the basement kitchen area, though guests need to bring their own bottles or cups.
One thing we especially appreciated was the generosity of the staff. We explained that we had booked a night train departing after midnight and asked if a later check-out would be possible. They kindly offered us a much later check-out so we could relax and freshen up before heading to the station. We truly appreciated this flexibility. The staff were incredibly accommodating and friendly throughout our stay and treated us like part of their family.
Breakfast was also very good. The dishes were local, freshly made, filling, and delicious.
A couple small notes for future guests: the toilet paper may not meet Western European standards, so you may wish to be prepared. Also, the beds are quite firm. If you are a side sleeper, the firmness may take some adjustment.
Aside from these minor points, the rest of our stay was excellent. We highly recommend this hotel for its location, authentic atmosphere, and the incredible service from the entire staff.
This hotel boasts an excellent location right next to a park. You can take a pleasant walk through the park to reach Tamerlane's Mausoleum and Registan Square. The hotel itself is lovely, featuring a gym and a good breakfast; we even got different options on our two mornings. There are several restaurants in the surrounding blocks, and about a kilometer away, you'll find banks for currency exchange, although the rates aren't the best.
Silent and beautiful place to sleep. The rich breakfast buffet offers healthy and delicious food. The family run hotel has been built recently with materials of high quality and taste in design, it was a pleasure to stay there. The staff was helpful and very friendly, i felt treated like a family member.
On my last day of independent travel in Samarkand, I had an 8 AM train, so I wouldn't be able to make breakfast. I informed the front desk in advance to prepare the check-in certificate (the small slip of paper) for me in the morning. This is a Uzbekistan regulation; if you've been traveling here for more than three days, border control might randomly check your accommodation certificates from hotels and guesthouses when you exit the country. They also prepared a packed meal for me. The staff member on duty in the morning quickly sorted everything out. Since this hotel is located on a pedestrian street, arriving and departing by ride-sharing service requires going to a spot not far diagonally across from the hotel, then passing through a small gate to a back street to pinpoint the pick-up/drop-off location. For arrivals, contact the hotel beforehand, and they will email you the details. For departures, some ride-sharing drivers might get confused and have trouble finding the spot. It's usually not a big deal, but when we left in the morning, it happened twice, and we almost had to ask the front desk staff to call a car for us.
The hotel is small and located practically in the center. A taxi ride to Samarkand's main sights (Registan, Siab, Shokhi-Zanda, Gur Emir, Bibi-Khanum) takes about 10 minutes and costs 15,000-25,000 soums, depending on the time of day. Right next door, you can find good samsa (a popular spot, frequented by locals). There are many shops and restaurants within walking distance. Cons: no refrigerator in the room, small shower, and a very basic breakfast. Pros: the staff was always helpful, and the TV, in addition to many Russian channels, also has YouTube (a rare find). They allowed a free late checkout (at 5:00 PM instead of 12:00 PM). Overall, I recommend the hotel; it's excellent value for the money.
The hotel is located in an alley, about a 10-minute walk from Registan Square, which makes it relatively quiet. However, it gets a bit dark on the way back to the hotel after watching the light show at night. The hotel has an elevator, but you still need to walk a half-flight of stairs after exiting it. The room is quite spacious, and the shower is a wet-and-dry separation type. This 'influencer-favorite' hotel is a bit pricey, so it's probably worth experiencing once.
We are so happy and satisfied with this hotel until the day we checked out. We were accused of taking the laundry bag which is worth 300k Uzbek SUM. I went up with 2 staff and it turned out it was in the drawer all the time (the funny thing is I never even touched it.) I don’t blame these 2 staff as I know it is their responsibility to make sure nothing was missing/stolen (though next time it would be appreciated if they can check it more thoroughly.)
What truly pissed me off is the attitude from another female staff at the reception named Zarifa. From the moment we checked out, she just looked grumpy and when my friend said “we never used it”, she reacted with “I am sure you did” in a very rude way! Even later on, it turned out to be in the drawer in the room, she was not even apologetic (the other 2 staff at least said “sorry for the mistake.”
This is one of the 2 five star hotels in Samarkand and I just hope what we paid at this hotel is equivalent to the amount of respect you show to your customers. The hotel really NEEDS to put more training in your staff’s service.
By the way, we had a really nice chat with another staff named “Firdav” at the first floor bar (if I remember his name correctly, he is tall and bit skinny). He had worked in Hilton for 2 years and the professionalism and politeness he demonstrated is just another level. PLEASE LEARN FROM HIM THAT HOW A STAFF AT 5 STAR HOTEL SHOULD BEHAVE AND TREAT THEIR GUESTS!!
I really didn't expect this Hilton Hotel to be so cheap, and it was far beyond my expectations in every aspect.
1. It's not far from the train station. It's about 30,000 to 40,000 yuan by taxi, more than ten kilometers away.
2. There are very beautiful artificial lawns around, and a clear river. There is also a cement road by the river, where you can take a sightseeing bus. A few yuan is enough.
3. There is also a large children's playground nearby, the fee is super cheap, one project is about 5-10 yuan. There are also some street snacks. There are also dances and other shows in the evening.
4. There is also a ”mosque” connected to the playground, where you can shop and stroll, and there are also very good restaurants to eat, mainly local barbecue, sacs and other real things. The outdoor dining room is very beautiful, with a white marble column base and a carefully carved wooden beam directly on it, supporting the entire roof. This pavilion is by the river, and the side is full of flowers and plants. The environment is very beautiful. The most important thing is that there are no mosquitoes!
5. The hotel's buffet breakfast is also very rich and beautiful. Children aged 5 are free, and children aged 11 are half price. Of course, you can also buy your own breakfast.
6. It is not far from the famous attractions, and it is very cheap to take a taxi here.
7. There is also a super large water park next to the hotel, which is open from 10:00 to 20:00.
This hotel is perfect for staying and playing with children.
the front desks were very friendly and helpful. As a female solo traveller I felt very safe and secured throughout my stay. as I arrived before the check in time, I wanted to leave my luggage at the hotel and proceed with sightseeing and was offered if I would like to partake on an 'excursion' to help the students who will be future tourists guides experience and how they may improve. there were no extra costs incurred and we only need to pay for the entrance fee to the tourist attraction. it was a great experience for me as they were all very accommodating and cheerful.
Nice room and varied breakfast buffet. Great Spa area with pool, sauna and hamam. The aircon in our room unfortunately was quite loud, blasting at full force, and it wasn’t possible to adjust it or turn it down. We gave feedback and they said they would send a technician to fix it while we were out, but the issue remained. Overall a pleasant stay.

RRamonLocation: excellent! It is in the same building complex as the Art Gallery Happy Bird, mentioned in Tripadvisor. Registan is about 300 m away, so after dinner I would walk there to see the illumination.
My room had 2 twin beds, was rather small but comfortable. Upon opening the windows, a cool breeze entered the room. Wi-fi was reliable and there was a water boiler for tea.
Breakfast was abundant and good. The cook, Dishoda, would make me an omelette every morning. In the same building there are restaurants and fast food/ice cream joints.
On my last day I took the train to Khiva, which departs at 11:46. The hotel allowed me to stay in the TV room, with wifi access, water and toilet facilities, for 10 hours after check out. I recommend Hotel Dyor.
KKevin1908The place is clean and the location is perfect just not easy to find at first because can’t reach at front by the car so have to carry the bag and search for it by foot.
Family is nice and help you to give all the best solutions for everything they can.
Simple and good breakfast but just repeat everyday same. It will be better if they change it according to the days.
Overall good place to stay

KKevin-SchmidtReally enjoyed my stay here. The location is great, just about a 10-minute walk to Registan, with a few restaurants and stores nearby. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful, even helping us get things delivered that we couldn't find on Yandex. They have cold beer available as well, which is a really great bonus in a place like Uzbekistan. Their sauna and cold pool were lovely and clean and an amazing way to detox the body during the hot summer days. Will definitely return to stay here on my next trip to Samarkand!!
GGuest UserAfter a few rough nights at a Soviet hotel, words can’t describe how happy I was to see this hotel. The male receptionist was very welcoming when I arrived as he let me check in a bit earlier after a train ride. The breakfast fulfilled my needs as they have fresh fruits, vegetables, yoghurt, eggs, coffee… no complaint. The guy working at the breakfast area was also very helpful. After I finished gym, I went up there. He immediately asked me if I needed water. It shows that he’s attentive. I felt happy staying there. The reason I booked it was the gym. As an active person, I need to work out on my travels. The gym is not fully equipped but it provides with the basics such as a treadmill, a bike and weights. Location wise, it’s not in the center of the tourist spot but it’s walking distance. It took me 15 min to get to Registan. Don’t worry though as Samarkand is pedestrian friendly.
ООлеся Ш.The room itself is like in the hotel photo, very spacious, beautiful, high ceilings. The bathroom is clean, small, but quite comfortable. Huge bed 2x2m. There is air conditioning, hair dryer works. Of the minuses - the windows overlook the road, and the roads in Samarkand (maybe specifically in this area) are very, very loud, there is an endless stream of cars that never stop honking. It's okay at night, but in the morning even with the window closed you won't sleep for long - if that's important to anyone. Well, and the entrance to the hotel is through the catering hall, but this is probably not so important. Breakfast is there, in the catering hall - continental.
