Granada Day of the Cross 2026 | Granada

Celebration

During this joyous day, it is common to see women and children in typical Andalusian costumes in the streets of Granada. In addition, beautiful Andalusian horses may be paraded through the streets. Every year, the City Council organizes a competition to promote this tradition, which includes four categories: courtyards, streets and squares, shop windows, and schools. Thousands of carnations will decorate the dozens of crosses that participate in the competition every year, competing for prizes. The fragrance of so many flowers fills Granada, inviting people to enjoy this special day. The atmosphere is incomparable. Granadans, adults and children, stroll around the city, visit the various crosses, dance and celebrate this day in Granada.
