The Semana Grande is a nine-day Basque festival held annually in Bilbao in August. It's not a traditional festival, but a grand celebration that immerses the entire city in joy: street parties, themed parades, free concerts, and one of Europe's largest fireworks displays. The 2026 Semana Grande runs from Saturday, August 22nd to Sunday, August 30th. The festival always begins on the Saturday following August 15th (the Feast of the Assumption of Mary). The opening ceremony is celebrated on Saturday noon with fireworks launched from the balcony of the Ariaga Theatre. The closing ceremony is on Sunday evening, accompanied by a final fireworks display and the burning of the statue "Maria," a symbol of the festival.

The Festad Vermael Festival is the grape harvest festival of Binni Salem and one of the most famous festivals in the heart of the island. Since 1965, this small town in the wine region, located along the Ma-13 highway between Palma and Inca, has celebrated the end of the grape harvest. The original harvest thanksgiving has evolved into a three-week event, usually held in September. In 2026, a large concert will kick off the festival season on September 5th, while traditionally, the last Sunday of September is the climax of the festival. A magnificent parade, elections for the Vermael and Vermael people, concerts, and wine tastings and expos hosted by local wineries bring the event to a close. For wine lovers, this festival is the only opportunity of the year to taste the region's wines in one place.

The Saint Florence Festival is considered León's most traditional festival, embodying the city's roots and culture. Originating in the Middle Ages, it's a vivid re-enactment of its history. It's a fantastic time to relive the "Roadside Procession," admire the beauty of the "Float Decorations," marvel at the largest flag display in the province, and participate again in the debate on the "Sacrifice of a Hundred Maidens," as well as the unforgettable "Foro u Oferta de Las Cantaderas"—unique symbols carrying a rich history and extraordinary character. From October 5th to 9th, the city is immersed in an ancient and medieval atmosphere, featuring a replica of an old-world market where visitors can enjoy falconry shows, traditional craft workshops, hundreds of fascinating stalls, and various theatrical performances. There are also markets specializing in flowers, pottery, and ceramics. The streets are adorned with medieval flags and banners, filled with stalls offering local specialties, street musicians playing music, beautifully decorated carts, and regional sporting events.
