Kamenoi Hotel Kusatsu Resort(Old:Kusatsu-Onsen Hotel Resort) ★★★
"The service was very enthusiastic. The flat parking lot was very convenient. Every day there was a shuttle bus to take guests to the hot spring area, pedestrian street attractions. The buffet breakfast and dinner were very rich, with many delicious options. The hot springs were excellent. However, there's a very slippery step when entering the hot spring pool. I personally witnessed people slipping and falling hard there for two consecutive days. This really should be improved, as personal safety measures are very important."
La Vista Kusatsu Hills ★★★★★
"Everything is perfect , Good environment, good atmosphere, good service."
Daitokan ★★★
"This hotel is super close to Yuda, and the area around it is really lively. The hotel itself is a bit older, and the room facilities are just okay. There's a hot spring on the first floor, but they also partner with two other hotels, so you can go soak for free at their newer locations, which is a nice perk."
Kusatsu Onsen-Kanemidori Ryokan ★★★★
"This is my second stay at Kinryo, mainly because I couldn't forget the hotel's hot spring baths. Besides the open-air rotenburo, there are two indoor baths. The hotter one, around 44℃, is my favorite. The water quality is excellent, sourced directly from Yubatake, and leaves my skin feeling incredibly smooth after a soak. A triple dip a day quickly melts away all fatigue. The hotel is conveniently located about a 3-4 minute walk up a slope from the bus station towards Yubatake, in a very secluded spot. While the hotel's entrance is unassuming, the interior facilities are complete and impeccably maintained. Only guests are allowed in, ensuring safety and privacy, and creating a consistent guest profile. The stay includes two meals (dinner and breakfast), both served as kaiseki. Even in the tatami private rooms, you sit on slightly raised seating, which I found much more comfortable. The food is fresh and delicious, and you can truly feel the chef's dedication. For dinner, they offer three flavors of miso, and I particularly loved the chicken miso. You can purchase it at the gift shop next to the lobby. After buying it, the staff told me they'd give it to me upon check-out, ensuring freshness by keeping it refrigerated until then. (Attention to detail is superb!) There's also a restaurant called Aspen just 2-3 minutes' walk from the hotel. Whenever I stay at a hot spring hotel in Kusatsu, I always choose Aspen for lunch. It's incredibly convenient from Kinryo. Their cakes are delicious, and the atmosphere is very pleasant. After dinner, I always enjoy a stroll to Yubatake to aid digestion. Standing by the "waterfall" and letting the warm sulfurous steam wash over me for a while, taking in that unique hot spring scent, is truly relaxing."
B/C HOTEL KUSATSU ★★★★
"very good location and good price for the opening special rate."
Sekizenkan ★★★★
"I came here to explore Spirited Away and it was really amazing. Both the hot springs and Red Bridge are amazing and worth checking in!"
Shima Yamaguchikan ★★★
"The hotel offered us a very nice experienced to stay in the classic yet cozy ambiance. With the staff is very helpful and knowledgeable and patient to answer all my inquiry and misunderstanding. The hotel itself is very interesting for me to explore and the onsen experienced is very nice and marvelous. The river view very scenic and everywhere I captured the photo it always turn out so great."
Kusatsu Onsen Futabaya ★★★
"great location that’s nearby almost all the main spots. however if you arrive late at night and there’s no more space to park your car, you have to drive a little further out and park at a carpark. they will give you a coupon for the carpark. the private onsen was way too hot to use unfortunately. like there’s no way a sane person will be able to use without scaring yourself /:"
Kusatsu Onsen Boun ★★★★
"Just happened to catch some snow! Awesome!"

Kusatsu Onsen Hotel Village
"Location was good, big place with a lot of things.Rooms seems old but very clean and have a balcony with nice view. The free hot spring was quiet ,not much people.I was almost using all the time. Very good experience, definitely recommend."
Hotel Sakurai
"The room is very spacious and very comfortable for a single person. The hotel is divided into three parts. Staying in the middle and upper floors of the Shinkeden, the view is very good. Don't walk from the bus station to the hotel with your luggage, especially when it snows heavily, the road is slanted and slippery, and it is easy to slip. The hotel has a special bus to and from the bus station, Yubatake and the hotel at a fixed time, so it is most convenient to take the hotel transfer. The hotel has performances every night, especially Japanese drumming, and the performers are very hardworking and serious. Although there are not many hot springs to choose from, the area is super large, so it doesn't feel crowded. The overall facilities of Sakurai Hotel are ideal."
Hotel Spax Kusatsu
"After our stay at Nikko, Spax felt underwhelming. Truth be told, it is more due the location of kusatsu which is an onsen town. Spax was more a place to rest for the night and not much can be expected from it. The photos look way better than actual. Could be the hotel is in the process of renovation. Our room just happened to have more tape patching things up. Actually i don't think i have stayed in a hotel with tape holding things together. That said, the staff makes up for the lacking by their gentle manners, serving of tea and coffee at the lobby."
Karuizawakurabu Hotel 1130 Hewitt Resort
"The room was spacious and the facilities were clean and well-equipped, so it was an experience worth more than the price."
Tsumagoi Prince Hotel
"It was clean and comfortable."
Kusatsu Onsen Eidaya
"Those who like private hot springs can choose a stand-alone cabin room, which can accommodate small groups of 10-14 people! The space is large, equipped with a small kitchen and a living room, and the CP value is very high! However, the surrounding environment is slightly away from the city, so it is recommended to prepare dinner and then return to the B&B to enjoy or cook! The owner of the B&B was very considerate and took us there, and also took us to the station when we checked out!"
KANOUYASHIMAONSEN
"Great L-bone Steak Dinner!"
Conifer Iwabitsu
"Very comfy room. Excellent hospitality with friendly stuff eventho their English were not so good. There's a full size indoor basketball court ! Too bad we don't hv time to use it. Need to drive to the hotel. Food excellent japanese food. Love their onsen as well. Both in and outdoor."
Kusatsu Onsen-Kusatsu Hotel 1913
"Had great stay. 👍 Do note that the building has no lift and be cautious to lower your voice due to thin walls. Some room has no shower facilities. Overall good stay."
Manza Kogen Hotel
"A very nice and quiet hotel which suitable for relaxing. Shuttle bus was waiting at the 萬座Bus Terminal at the time of bus arrival."
Kusatsu Onsen Ryokan Yoshinoya
"This was my first time visiting Kusatsu Onsen, and I happened to find and stay at Kanoya. The staff were all very kind and helpful, assisting me courteously with things like sending my luggage and lending me items I needed. The bathhouse isn't large, but it was very clean. The water was hot, but it felt wonderfully therapeutic. The location is excellent, with easy access to various attractions. The complimentary breakfast was also delicious. Thank you very much!"
Matsumuraya Ryokan
"A very clean family-run guesthouse with complete facilities; I had a very comfortable stay. Highly recommended!"
Gensen Ichinoyu
"Fantastic stay with great service! We really enjoyed our night. The only downside was that the room type we booked didn't specify it had no private bathroom, so we had to use the shared facilities. However, the shared area was very clean and nice, we still loved it!"
Kusatsu Onsen Yubatake Sensui
"I was happy that they included a free breakfast. The room was also very Japanese-style and lovely. I would like to stay here again when I visit Kusatsu."
KusatsuOnsen AeruyadoTakamatsu
"The hotel is excellent. The breakfast is delicious, and there are afternoon snacks available. The onsen is clean, and the staff provides great service. It's close to tourist attractions and within walking distance. Highly recommended."
Kusatsu Hotel Bekkan Wata No Yu (Adult Only)
"This hotel is really fantastic! The service was super attentive, the rooms are beautiful and comfortable and the onsens are incredible. I took an early bath in the morning before breakfast and it was so calm, you have two different baths to use. We didn't do dinner, but we had breakfast and it was tasty and abundant. The hotel is perfectly located next to the path that goes to Sainokawara park, but also very close to the center of the village. I truly recommend it"
