The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. Very nice and modern hotel. We were pleasantly surprised that they had a full breakfast including cheese omelette, sausage, fluffy biscuits. We haven’t had a real breakfast at a hotel since the pandemic. Normally they give you a muffin and orange juice and say, “have a good day. “ highly recommend.

Let my mother have access to our room info , which is not legal. This caused us serious harm as to what happened that day and after. They had my young son go with them from the hotel without my permission . I made the staff aware of their error so hopefully they understand how serious that is to give out information to other people who may call or show up .

It was late when we rolled in, and we booked ahead via Priceline. I don’t see Howard Johnson’s around anymore, and since it’s owned by Wyndham I thought that it’s been rebranded and would be a good place to stay. What a disappointment! We had a ground floor room where we could park outside our door. Once inside we immediately noticed that the bathroom floor wasn’t as clean as expected, but we found cockroaches around the desk and coffee maker. It was too late to search out different accommodations so we took our luggage back out to the car, kept only what we needed for the night and made sure it was sealed up. I checked for bed bugs and didn’t find any so we slept (not soundly), got up early, showered, shook our clothes and got out of there. We did report this to the front desk, and told them that we left several cockroaches that we killed on a piece of paper on the desk in the room. They were apologetic but we didn’t stick around to haggle about it, we just left. With that experience, I would never stay at a Howard Johnson’s again.

We were staying at this hotel as a part of a dance weekend at the Cole Center. When we arrived, we were dismayed to see that half of the exterior of the building was under construction, with scaffolding and plastic sheeting everywhere. This was never mentioned on their website and never mentioned when I talked to their front desk staff earlier in the same week as our stay. The lobby had a small sign stating “pardon our dust during the construction.” This was more than just “dust,” half of exterior of building was being reconstructed which including windows being taken out. When we arrived at our room, we realized that our room was one of rooms with exterior views being blocked by a scaffold and plastic sheeting, again this was never stated by the front desk when we checked in. Another oddity, I was charged for the entire hotel room on my credit card about a week and a half before our stay. When I called to inquire about why I was charged the entire amount 11 days before our stay, I was told “it’s because this upcoming week is a high volume weekend with the dance competition and we wanted to ensure your room was reserved.” In other words, they wanted to make sure I wasn’t going to back out once I find out more details about their hotel - shady! The inside of the hotel is nice and tidy and the bathroom of the room had nice complimentary bath products, but that’s about the extent of what I can say that was good. After we returned to the hotel for turning in around 9 pm, we very quickly learned that the road noise around this hotel is absolutely awful because it is at the intersection of Highway 74 and Highway 220 (73). Coupled with this, the bed was one of the most uncomfortable bed I’ve ever slept on at a hotel. Due to these factors, we decided to move our next dance weekend reservations to a better hotel in a less noisy area that is not undergoing construction.

First let’s start with the positives: the room was spotless and very well lit. The fixtures in the bathroom were not coming out of the wall. The heating/AC worked well. Lots of towels. Lots of plugs. Now let’s get to the other stuff. If Hilton were given a contract to build an Army barracks, this would be about what they would come up with. The room was exceedingly small. When I called prior to making a reservation, I was told that the rooms had both fridges and microwaves. They were 50% correct. There was a mini (with emphasis on the “mini”) fridge but no microwave. For that you had to go down to the lobby. Doable but not very convenient. The front desk was very helpful at checkin which was important since, when I received my digital key, the app did not specify which room. In sum, I think the room was quite overpriced for what you received.
