"Just the journey to Tortuguero is exciting, you either need to fly in on a small plane or arrive by boat. We felt very well looked after at every point of our stay, the staff were lovely. Lots of trip options, all worth going on. It rained quite a lot and we were out of turtle season but the wildlife did not disappoint. What a privilege to see it all. The food was excellent and the rooms lovely with a view over the water and in our case, a toucan perched directly outside."

"The rooms were very simple but ok. It was just sleeping ...but very uncomfortable kiss. At breakfast I had expected more. The food in the restaurant was a little overpriced. For a small leaves salad about 9Euro. The plant was beautiful ...has charm."

"Tortuguero is all about the wildlife tours and this is one of the best places to stay, as their guides are fantastic. We did three trips with Jiro who was incredibly knowledgeable and entertaining as a guide. He's also the guide on the celebrity Race Across the World! The riverboat ride, night walk and Tortuguero hill were all full of animals and beautiful views. We also did the canoe trip with Antonio, who was even more experienced and knew all about the birds and plants. This was a great experience, as you could go into the smaller waterways, which was incredible. The lodge itself is lovely. Great gardens with toucans and hummingbirds. The food is really good and the staff are all very helpful and welcoming. The rooms are clean and comfortable, if a little rustic but it fits the area and all accommodation is similar in nature. I would stay again."

"Amazing place, a full immersion in green, far and away, to be reached by boat. The perfect spot to have a tour by boat on the wonderful canals and see animals. Swimming pool to relax, good restaurant, small shop and very useful large umbrellas all over. Hairdryer on request while the safe box is in the room. Simple but well set rooms, respectful of the area around, good WiFi. Unforgettable"

"Serendipity was a great choice for our group! The booking process was quite easy. Direct communication through WhatsApp from booking process to throughout our stay was very quick. The staff was excellent! They were very friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The meals were very good with many options. They go out of their way to accommodate your schedule and meals are served whenever you want. The location is perfect for tours, walking in the park and strolling the town. The rooms are spacious with an air conditioner that cools the entire room and a high speed ceiling fan! The bed was very comfortable and we had plenty of hot water. We would definitely stay here again."

"Very clean, workers hosing down pathways throughout the day. No windows just screens, no air con or heat. Well maintained, lots of wildlife. Village is on opposite side of river so you take a boat across. Food and bar service is good. You get woken up by howler monkeys and the thunderstorms shake your room which are all separate cabins."

Fantastic experience. Did tour of National park also with Julio, saw bats, iguana, Caiman, various lizards & multiple birds. Julio was a very informative & knowledgable guide."
