"Got booked on a business trip here for one night.There is no juice a reception when you tell the receptionist they tell you to walk to pick and pay at 40 degrees heat. Ok, never mind that, lines to reception weren’t working just to go ask for an iron and ask reception to show me how to operate their air con which doesn’t have a remote. Personnel got sent and never greeted just switched the air con without bothering to demonstrate how it operates.Then got told “when you done with iron leave it outside NOW”!! I honestly can’t wait to checkout first thing in the morning and never look back!!!"

"Rooms (we booked a family room)are small but clean. Hotel portion of the resort is not functional anymore. Asked for two lightbulbs to be replaced, and in the three days we stayed there they could not manage to replace them. They do have bigger (3 bedroom, 3 bathroom) units where we visited friends and are very nice to stay in."

Mercure Nelspruit Hotel

"Reception staff were inattentive and focused solely on answering phones. The rooms were dark, outdated, and in poor condition: a broken bedside lamp, gray bathroom towels, only one bedside table, repulsive carpeting, a malfunctioning lock requiring repair, etc. etc. A terrible stay after 8 days in the bush. Certainly not up to the standard of traditional Mercure hotels!"

Kruger View Chalets

"The standard rooms, chalets and cabins are not worth the money they charge for them. Most are far away from where one's vehicle must park. The perimeter walls to the property look "dodge" and unsafe. We were not prepared to stay in the chalets, rooms or cabins and had to resort to taking one of the bigger river view chalets for our peace of mind and safety, this was at an additional cost of close to R500 for the night. In general, the place is dated and is in serious need of maintenance. IN general, the prices are over the top and are exploiting the traveller by charging a hefty price because it has a view of the Kruger Park. "

Protea Hotel Nelspruit

"Hotel is decent, clean and well located in Mbombela. However staff at reception are useless. We arrived on Saturday 30 September at 17h30 and it took 45 minutes to check in. Our confirmation letter showed that our booking included breakfast whereas the computer reflected room only. The room allocated to us behind reception was next to the parking. Very noisy throughout the evening when guests come in and park. When we arrived for breakfast on Monday morning the restaurant staff told us that breakfast was not included. Again we had to show our confirmation letter to reception before we were allowed to have breakfast.."
