"A comfortable and quiet hotel. Located in the city center, it's within walking distance of nearby souvenir shops and other attractions. The room was clean, except for the windows, which were noticeably dirty. Of course, that's to be expected, since they're outside. However, as someone who kept peeking out the window, wondering if the aurora was visible, I wish it had been a little cleaner. (Note: The streetlights directly in front of the hotel were too bright, making it difficult to see the aurora from the room.) Other than that, it was a very nice hotel. It was also helpful to have a small space next to the front desk selling bread, instant ramen, and daily necessities. (The nearest supermarket within walking distance was quite far away.)"

"A very, very bad experience, a family stayed in one room. There was no cleaning arrangement for three of the four days. I don't know if it was a family problem. We told the front desk twice but only one day was arranged for cleaning. The hygiene was very bad! The crucial thing was that the toilet was clogged and was not dealt with."

"We loved our stay at Alaska Heritage House, a beautifully decorated vintage 1910s home filled with period details. The location is perfect—close to the visitor center, river, and great dining, very walkable. Our Garden Room was cozy with parking right outside. The highlight was the delicious breakfast shared with other guests while Jill and her husband, the owners, entertained us with fascinating stories about the house and their other place, the Malamute Saloon in Ester. It's always interesting to hear why people moved to Alaska!! My husband and I highly recommend!"
