Worst experience ever. When we arrived we could already tell we were in for a treat. There were people standing around outside smoking all over the place. When I went into the lobby to sign in the lobby tv was extremely loud so the desk staff could sit and watch tv. We checked in with no problems. The trash cans all around the place were overflowing with trash and clearly had not been cleaned in many days. We walked into our room and it was not very clean. The floor looked and felt like it had not been mopped in weeks. There was no way we were walking around with shoes on. There was a hole in the wall and the shower area looked like it had not been wiped down in several months. We book a room with two bed but noticed there was only one towel. We went down to the front desk to get enough for the four of us, and were told we don't have any they are on backorder. That is was not her job to do the housekeepings job. We begged and pleaded and got two more towels and a bathmat to use as our fourth towel. Again people just hanging out smoking all over the place. As we were checking out, there was a pile of dog poop in front of the elevator that had clearly been there for awhile. Instead of cleaning it up they put a yellow caution sign over it.The mattresses were about as comfortable as a college dorm mattress. Very cheap. All of the counters had dust or a film on them. Not sure if I was cleaner walking in or leaving the shower. Worst experience ever.

Hilton Garden Inn Gainesville

We stayed here 4 days. This is substandard compared to others in the area. Housecleaning only comes by every FIVE days, so trash piles up if you don’t take it out yourself. Pillows were completely flat, the soap scum in the tub was so thick I could write my name in it, and there was mold in the ceiling in the bathroom. When we checked out we checked under the bed to make sure we hadn’t left anything and found a pair of socks and a solo cup that clearly didn’t belong to us. The fridge was leaky unless it was cranked all the way to freezing max, and finally, found a drop of blood on the boxspring (as part of that checkout look). Blech. All this coupled with no breakfast and honestly not cheap, I will not stay here again. Pros: front desk staff are very nice. There are better options!!!

This is a very clean, safe, and friendly hotel. We were on our way to Florida and needed a place to stay for a night. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful, they took time to help two elderly ladies with the waffle iron and juice machine, not the typical attitude for hotel desk staff, very refreshing. Breakfast buffet was well stocked and clean. There is a Walgreens right next door in case you need anything and only 5 minutes from I-75 north and south bound. We would recommend.

This hotel has two amazing employees, the first is Shirley who is the breakfast attendant and is the warmest caring person you could possibly want in that position and she cooks an awesome breakfast. The other is Manuel at the front desk who is the most genuine employee I have ever met at a Marriott property. It was truly a pleasure dealing with these two amazing people this past weekend.

Nice motel even had an ash tray in my smoking room. NOT A BURN HOLE IN SIGHT! Very big plus in a smoking room.

I wish I had read some of the recent reviews of this hotel before I had checked in. True, this hotel is under construction and I understand that and have no issue with it. It's the way the hotel is presented on both the Marriott and the Trip Advisor website versus the reality of the dank, dark and musty rooms and the poor customer service that's so disappointing. You can fix the rooms with renovation, but you can't fix attitude with one. When getting to the front desk, no greeting, no smile, just ”last name”? Handed me my key and that was that. As a Lifetime Titanium Elite, I would have at least expected how I would like my bonus points to be be used. Not the end of the world. I asked directions to my room and she pointed and said without looking up, ”Down that hall”. Nothing else was offered or said. Again, not the end of the world, but then when you go to your room and it's so terribly dated with an odor, it all adds up. This place has a long.long way to go to measure up to the standard I've become used to in the majority of Marriott properties. And now that I have read the recent reviews of this property, before the GM responds with the sorry for the issues but the renovation will solve the problem, I'm noy buying it.
Red Roof Plus+ Gainesville

Mr. Leon Ford and Paula honestly were amazing. We booked our stay on Expedia and had accidentally put our stay for the wrong date. After staying on the phone with Expedia for over an hour, we had come to the lobby for help. They immediately were on the phone helping us. We were able to get our room for the night. They were so awesome and eager to help. This is by far the best staff I’ve come into with red roof and will be booking again with them as we come to this area every couple of weeks. Our check out experience was lovely and easy. Leon was super helpful and really all around an awesome person. I hope these 2 are recognized for their outstanding jobs and personality’s. Great job as a manager, in my opinion having staff like this makes the experience a great one! THANK YOU!
