"If you are looking for a quaint village, you can't do better than Elsah, Illinois which sits between huge bluffs on the Mississippi river. If you want to stay in the area, the Green Tree Inn is the place to stay. The hosts Meagan and Caleb were outstanding! (You have to ask them to share how they came to be innkeepers!) The rooms are immaculate and modern. The double bedded room was large with plenty of room for our stuff. The furnishings are in theme, but practical. The beds, pillows and linens are nearly perfect. Our breakfast was outstanding. I look forward to returning."
