Great stay. Very friendly and accommodating hosts.

A hidden gem. I don't even want to share this review to make this hotel too popular! As a person who doesn't speak very good Chinese, the staff at this hotel were very accommodating despite the language barrier. When you first arrive at the hotel, you are greeted by a creative garden complete with outdoor dining areas, swings, a fish tank, and more. On check in, the receptionist was very attentive to all of my questions and directed me to the places I asked about through wechat. It was very easy to follow the directions. I was also offered a spread of fresh fruit to enjoy before settling in my room. The room was spacious and clean and had the most advanced toilet that I have ever used! There was a wide open window for a beautiful view of the dialou across the pond. The suite of amenities was also much appreciated, including snacks, toiletries, and slippers. A highlight of this hotel is the breakfast. They not only provide the standard Chinese breakfast fare such as porridge and pastries, but also served local kaiping specialties. They also have food you can order off of a menu but I didn't have anything during my stay. Upon checkout I was also given a goodie bag filled with local specialties and treats which was much appreciated!

Fantastic hotel, huge room really well equipped (king bed, seating area, heated toilet seat. Location on West edge of Kaiping is convenient for visiting the diaolou villages. Good value for money. The only disappointment as a European foreigner was the breakfast - the limited Western options, and those were American budget hotel style (fatty bacon, sweet sausage, dense sweet bread for toasting).

The room was spacious and clean, plenty of room for 2 people with extra amenities such as kitchen available. The breakfast is in a separate hotel next door, it’s quite basic and Chinese food only, but generally alright. The staff at the reception was friendly and would go out of their way to help with any questions. As for the location, it’s quite central with lots of food places around. Overall, a solid spot.

Best value and satisfaction even including the 4 and 5 star hotels of our trip. The room was modest size and basic but all details for comfy stay are extremely well provided for, eg., Shower, bedside light controls and charging ports, and the high tech heated automatic toilet seat has not been matched on our trip.

Booked a room with 3 single beds for 3 adults.  Was given a family suite with 2 rooms.  One room had two beds with full washroom facilities and the other room had a king size bed with table and chairs plus washroom less shower.  Plenty of room for three.  Oddly, cups used for tea was left uncleaned or changed while teas bags were refilled. Carpet has some old stains.  Outlets compatible with international plugs to charge up devices.  Two layers of blinds operated electronically.  Air conditioning works great.  All toiletries provided.  Location is close to morning street market for shopping and breakfast and close to river for evening walks.  Most importantly, no cigarette smoke smell.  

Room is very spacious, facilities are all great including swimming pool, gym, snooker, massage place etc.

My wife and I stayed at this hotel for about a week after she had fallen Ill. Thanks to the incredible and kind staff, my wife and I pulled through this tough time as foreigners in China. They helped us with our visits to the hospital, helped my wife get everything she needed to get better and were always available, even late at night. The Kaiping Tagin Hotel is also great if you're not sick at all. The hotel is very clean and safe with spacious and modern rooms. It is in a beautiful location with great views and many things to do nearby like walking paths, watchtowers, coffee shops and many historical sights only a bike ride away. Breakfast and dinner food are varied and delicious. I only wish I could give a higher rating!
