"I’m always as honest and informative as I can when leaving reviews, so here’s a proper rundown. We arrived at the hotel in the afternoon. The sign at the entrance isn’t the easiest to spot as it’s quite old, but once you find it there’s a steep drive down to the car park which has plenty of parking available. Golf carts are used to get around the hotel complex, which is very big and quite steep in most places. We stayed in a Junior Family Room, which has a super king bed and a single bed in a slightly separate room area. When we first entered our room it was one of the rooms that hasn’t been renovated yet, and unfortunately it had quite a musky smell and the bed felt a little damp. Both hairdryers didn’t work and the electricity randomly went off. We asked to change rooms and were moved next door to the same room type. This room was much better — far less smell and everything worked properly. The air conditioning is excellent and gets very cold. The shower is great, with strong pressure and plenty of hot water. The bed is firm but comfortable, although the pillows were a bit too firm for me personally. Overall we had a good night’s sleep. The TV is quite small but that didn’t matter much. On our first evening we went to the upper pool for sunset, which was absolutely stunning. The views are incredible and the pool area was very clean and quiet when we visited. We even saw a family of monkeys passing through which was a nice surprise. The lower pool is larger and sits right on the beach, again with fantastic views and plenty of space. Overall the hotel is good value for money. If you can get one of the renovated rooms it would probably make this the perfect place to stay. Breakfast is also recommended — a good choice of food and the views in the morning are amazing."

"Located on the east side of Koh Chang, this homestay is a truly peaceful option. The whole environment is kept very clean and tidy, making people feel comfortable and relaxed. The owner is a kind ********* grandmother who has been in Thailand for more than 40 years. When we checked in, she also thoughtfully sent us homemade toast and fresh fruits, which made us feel warm. When my family had stomach discomfort, she also personally made porridge for us. Although the transportation here may not be convenient, the tranquility here is rare, which is in sharp contrast to the lively atmosphere on the west coast of Koh Chang. Waking up in the morning, there is no noise interference, only the sound of birdsong and breeze in my ears, which is particularly healing. The homestay faces the sea, and the scenery in the morning is beautiful. The sea surface on the east side is calm and waveless, like a quiet lake, with a unique style. There is also a smart and lively dog named Tin Tin here, and I especially like to play with him! This treasure homestay can really get away from the hustle and bustle and bring peace of mind. It is very suitable for self-driving travel or family travel. I will definitely come again!"

"I don't understand why this hotel has so many good reviews, but I want to write honestly, as someone who has worked in tourism for 20 years and seen a lot. The hotel definitely doesn't live up to its category. The biggest downsides are: there's no sea, the tide is very low every day, so you definitely can't swim here, and the knee-deep water that comes in in the afternoon smells like fish, and even while you're sitting at breakfast, there's a very unpleasant fish smell. But if you want, there's a shuttle that takes you to a good beach several times a day. The pool is dirty with green water; I was snorkeling, and there were tons of hair and sand at the bottom. The water doesn't circulate. In the morning, they pour two buckets of chlorine to disinfect the pool, and then it turns blue for a short while. The hotel rooms are large and comfortable, but tired. The tiles and plumbing need replacing. There were a lot of ants and cockroaches in the room. When we reported them, a worker came to exterminate them and treat them with ant repellent. On the plus side, the room has a large TV with YouTube access, a refrigerator, a tea station, a comfortable bed, and daily cleaning and towel changes. Peacocks roam the grounds (but that's not the main reason to come here). Breakfast is modest; there's a coffee machine with real coffee, pancakes, omelets like everywhere else, sausages and ham, and fruit. There were no yogurts or cheeses, and the juices were watered down. A lot of the equipment in the gym is broken. It depends on your preference, but for me, the sea and pool are key features in a place like this, so I wouldn't go back. There are plenty of cheaper and better options on the coast."

"Traveled Thailand for over 30 years and unfortunately without doubt, Mac Resort has the most miserable, inhospitable staff I've encountered. One of the receptionists, shouldn't be the face of the hotel. She's the first thing you meet and boy, knows nothing about customer service. The breakfast? All items cold, even the things that should be hot. There are no heaters under the chaffing dishes. So rice cold. Curry cold. Fried Eggs cold. Sausages cold. The rooms are big, clean and bed comfortable. Good location too."
