Kunming Xishan District Hotels

Facilities: A bit old, but generally pretty good. The bed is neither too soft nor too hard. The duvet is fine with the AC on, but it can get a bit warm without it, given Kunming's large temperature variations. There's a small garden and an outdoor hot tub, but apparently it's not usable. It's very photogenic though! The living room and bedroom are separate, which is great for families or multiple families staying together as you can chat comfortably. There are also seating areas in the room corridors where you can relax and talk. Being inside the scenic area, the courtyard rooms are quiet. Other room types might be a bit noisier. At midday, it can feel quite bustling outside with traffic and vendors calling out. The courtyard suites, however, are not noisy at all. The location is in the Jinbi area, not far from Nanping Old Street. Just cross a road and walk through Nanping Hui, and you're in a commercial area. For food and drinks, there are snacks right downstairs, though not many main courses. I think the options across the street are better. The hotel breakfast is à la carte and needs to be ordered a day in advance. We tried it one day, but after that, we opted for takeout or ate out. The hotel service is quite good. They have a butler service, and the staff's attitude is very pleasant. When we had a delay, they helped us coordinate a later checkout. For transport, since it's within the scenic area, you'll probably need to walk a bit after getting off the car. However, you can also have your car drive to the parking lot, and there's an elevator near the exit that takes you up.

The surrounding amenities are incredibly complete, offering everything you could want for dining, entertainment, and shopping, making it very convenient for getting around. The room size is just right, with a well-organized layout and new facilities that are easy to use. The bed is neither too soft nor too firm, ensuring a relaxing rest. The cleaning staff does a thorough job, and the service is attentive and thoughtful. Highly recommended!

Having traveled to over 20 countries, this is my first time reviewing an accommodation. When you're on the road, you often miss home. But not here! We booked the Loft, with a living room on the first floor and a bedroom on the second, it felt just like home. We enjoyed tea daily, and the hotel even provided complimentary afternoon tea. The 24-hour butler service was excellent, always available and responsive. They thoughtfully prepared a travel guide for us. The daily breakfast was a delicious mix of Chinese and Western options! We will definitely be back.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The service was exceptional and the staff was very accommodating, helpful and friendly. They went out of their way to help us in many ways. We had a very late flight that evening on a rainy day so they allowed us to extend our stay until 6pm at a very reasonable rate which was much appreciated.They also offered my husband a free breakfast and offered help with getting bikes. The breakfast buffet was tasty and extensive with a good variety. The hotel is modern and new and the room itself was very spacious, had an excellent shower and big tub. The bed was very comfortable and upon arrival there was a fruit plate, tea and 4 water bottles. It is very well located next to a bike path and Dianchi lake. The entrance to the park is just minutes away and we spent several enjoyable hours strolling through the park. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it!

This place is located in a great location. There are malls just opposite which is great if you do not have plans and just want to hang around. Downstairs, there are various local food places which served good food. The hotel itself is located in k9 apartments, right next to Novotel Hotel. The reception messaged us on Trip.com on the day of our arrival to provide us with information on how to reach the hotel & the address to set in our Didi. As this was our last hotel before returning home, I honestly had alot of Taobao kuai di which the receptionist picked up for me patiently throughout all 3 days of our stay. I could not be more grateful esp when 1 of my package was sent to a place about 1.5km away from the hotel. They would wechat us on a daily basis to confirm if we needed housekeeping or if we needed any amenities. Within the room, there was a play room which my kids absolutely loved. They saw it as their private space and played inside on their own when the adults would busy. There was a washer / dryer located within the room which was so helpful. & a working fridge. We were provided with disposable coverings for the toilet bowl & bathtub and also toothbrush (including children’s toothbrush & bedroom slippers). The staircase to the loft was also safe with handrails and big enough steps to not fall / miss a step. Overall, I would definitely choose this place again if I visited Kunmin again.

She arranged a smoke-free, high-floor room overlooking Dianchi Lake for a better view, and her meticulous arrangements truly eased my travel fatigue. Heidi's demeanor was gentle and graceful, and she handled matters with patience and professionalism. Every request was addressed thoroughly; her professionalism and sincerity shone through in every small detail. As a Sofitel in Kunming, the hotel perfectly blends French elegance with local Yunnan charm. The lobby features Yunnan-specific floral art and ethnic soft furnishings, creating a unique romantic and luxurious design. The guest rooms offer a comfortable and relaxing stay, with floor-to-ceiling windows directly facing the lake and mountains of Dianchi. The executive lounge boasts excellent views, and the snacks and drinks are exquisite and high-quality. Breakfast combines French pastries with authentic Yunnan rice noodles and flower cakes, offering a wide variety and delicious flavors. Both the hardware and service are truly worth savoring. Walking around the hotel, one can glimpse the brand's unique French romance everywhere, complemented by the spiritual lake views unique to the 'Spring City.' Both the facilities and services exude style and warmth. Whether gazing at the misty Dianchi Lake from the window or enjoying a drink in the executive lounge, you can feel Sofitel's exclusive aesthetic of sophisticated travel. Heidi's meticulous and thoughtful service perfectly balanced the rush of travel, adding a human touch to a luxurious stay. The entire stay was leisurely and pleasant, precisely because of Heidi's attentive and personalized care, which made this stay full of surprises and warmth. When I return to this area in the future, this hotel will still be my first choice, and I once again express my gratitude to the gentle and dedicated Heidi.

I saw the high ratings for this guesthouse online, so I decided to book it just to see, and as soon as I arrived, I knew I'd made the right choice! 🥰 The room and environment were exactly as pictured online. The owner and their family were all very kind, and the courtyard was beautifully maintained and spotless. Every picture I took turned out lovely. Stepping in, you immediately feel a refreshing vibe. The breakfast was amazing – a great variety, delicious, and even delivered to the room, which was just perfect! The location is also fantastic. There's a small gate next to the guesthouse that leads right to a food street. It's just a two or three-minute walk to Haigeng Dam, so it was lovely to stroll there after dinner 🐶. Excellent! It has everything you need. Downstairs is a food street, which is super convenient and fun. The environment is quiet and the scenery is beautiful, especially the night view. The hygiene is also good; the trash is always tidied up. It's definitely worth it.
