"Room was spacious, clean and well-furnished with an enormous, comfortable bed. Cooking facilities covered everything you needed. (It would be worth highlighting this on the website as we took cutlery and crockery with us first time we stayed.) Lighting - underestimated in many hotels - was bright and varied. Leisure facilities brilliant - the pool is a good size and sauna,  hot tub and gym facilities are fantastic. Great location - peaceful and very attractive but near enough to Lancaster, Morecambe and other places to visit if required. The bar and lounge are terrific, with a very good selection of meals and, on the nights we were there, a fabulous pianist who took requests from all ages. Lovely, helpful, friendly staff. An excellent experience across all categories!"

"We stayed one night ten days apart in the newly refurbished rooms in the courtyard. The bed was huge and lovely and comfy. The evening meal and breakfast the next day were delicious and generous portions. They cater for gluten free, vegetarian and vegan. The bar looked well stocked with an array of wines and spirits. All the staff we met were friendly and chatty and made us welcome. Ideal place to stop on our drive to Scotland and back again. We had to pay for overnight parking very nearby but plenty of spaces and not unreasonable."

Due to the poor sound insulation, we could clearly hear the sounds when the housekeeper cleaned other rooms or other guests sat outside our room. Not suitable for people who have light sleep"
