Residence Inn Saddle River

Saddle River|4.99km from IMA
Think twice before staying here! I just experienced the worst, most heartless costumer service at a hotel. We decided to rent a one night stay at the Residence Inn in Saddle River because our kids had a soccer tournament in town and we thought it would be such a nice treat to be able to jump in the pool after such a hard and well earned season. I called a couple hotels in the immediate area and decided to go with this one. Although it was one of the more expensive ones, when I called ahead I was told they had a pool and breakfast- just what we were looking for. Unfortunately the rain put a damper on our beautiful afternoon right before check-in. After check-in we were given wrist bands for the pool, but then got a call immediately afterwards saying they were closing the pool due to the weather. I understood, but asked if I could please be offered a courtesy of a pool pass for tomorrow afternoon since that was the sole reason for wanting to stay at this hotel, and my children were in tears. The front desk said there was nothing they could do. I asked to speak to the manager to see if they can make an exception. The manager Carrie Carpenter called me and was heartless and rude! She said there are rules and we can use the pool between 8-10am ( completely disregarding that I mentioned my kids have a tournament with games between 7 and 11am in the morning). She completely neglected my concerns and after basically begging her to accommodate me her response was, ” Anything else I can help you with?” No Carrie, actually you haven't helped one bit, not at all... ***Update *** I hate to inform that the rooms don't come with sheets and a blanket for your pull out bed, and don't bother asking the front desk because the answer you'll receive will be, ”you can come get them at the front desk”. I guess we will be sleeping without blankets tonight since my children are already fast asleep..... Oh and what a surprise, there is a sign on the fridge that says they arent offering breakfast, (Let me remind you they did say they offered breakfast when I called to reserve) .....so terrible Save yourself the money and stay at the Holiday Inn instead.

Courtyard Montvale
4/568 Reviews
Having worked in the Montvale NJ area for almost 40 years I have stayed at this Courtyard many times. However, this last trip, will probably be my last trip, as they now charge $10 to park. It's not the money, it's the principle. How can the hotel justify charging a customer $10.00 to park when the parking lot is shared with a public restaurant? I am sure that customers going for a bite to eat at the Fire & Oak restaurant next door are not being charged $10.00. I understand that business in the area is not the same as many corporations in the area are still closed or working short staffed as employees work from home. But this just isn't fair especially considering that the Park Ridge Mariott which is about 2 miles away doesn't charge for parking, and honestly is a nicer hotel in my opinion. I believe the Courtyard should spend some money quality controlling their rooms and repair leaks, shower handles that are about to fall and loud vent fan noises that whine all night long. Maybe then the customer base will once again improve (it can't hurt to try).
