"We stopped here on our travels between Memphis and New Orleans, The hotel was easy accessible with friendly welcoming staff. The rooms were clean with comfy beds and we had lovely views of the Mississippi. The breakfast staff were lovely, some people visiting may think the breakfast is basic but for the price; there was choices and we found it a lovely way to start our day. The hotel is a short drive from downtown Natchez which is a sleepy retirement town and places do close early"

"I want to give an honest opinion. I read several reviews regarding the cleanliness of the hotel and the rooms before I arrived. I expected what the pictures showed, however, I think I have a more positive review. I checked the bedsheets and bedspread, both are clean. I checked the countertops, and all had been wiped down. The only problems we ran into was 2 lightbulbs being out, one in the bathroom and one as soon as you walk in the room. The microwave is older but it seemed fine. The bathroom was wiped, HOWEVER, the toilet seat was not. The shower is just older with some hard water stains on the faucet. The floor of the shower is peeling, like pieces of a shower mat. That was my only genuine concern, but otherwise it seemed clean. I can’t say it’s the best, and maybe it is just the room I got, but it is not as dreadful as the previous reviews make it seem. The young lady at the front was kind. It’s not “bad” but is in desperate need of some serious TLC."

"Marybeth welcomed us to her home and described its long history in the family. There are lots of lovely antiques and interesting things to see in the home. Everything was sparkling clean. We felt so comfortable and at home there, using her fridge for a few things and making ourselves tea. Having asked us to choose any time we liked in the morning, she made a delicious breakfast. Would definitely return if we are in the area again."

"This past week I had a wonderful stay in the cottage at The Stone House in Natchez, MS. The cottage is very comfortable and cozy, yet spacious with two comfortably furnished bedrooms each with seating and a television, and they share a large bathroom. There are two separate furnished porches, one covered and one uncovered. Parking is handy and has easy access. It's within easy walking distance to all downtown attractions and restaurants and one day I even walked to the Under The Hill district. The host, Joe Stone, is a handsome and charming gentleman who could not have been nicer. I will be back!"

It is historically preserved and has the most wonderful hostess who is full of history and knowledge of Natchez. Worth the stay."
