Hyatt Grand Central New York

Great location. But the service standards absolutely disappointed. In room telephone was not working and despite repeated complaints it was not repaired through my stay of 4 nights. So basically we had to go down all the way to reception every time we wanted something at the room. From toiletries to food to water. Even the front desk as well as the duty manager simply expressed inability to do anything about it Initially even some of the lights in the room were not working. Clearly one of the worst stays of my life at a big brand hotel All in all a big disappointment

Stayed here with a family in October 2022. The room size is generous by Manhattan standards, and we were able to see the Chrysler Building from our window. The room and the hotel in general are clean and well-maintained. The reception staff was friendly and courteous, quickly resolving a few minor issues for us. The breakfast variety is good, although it may be a bit crowded a little later in the morning. The elevators are fast, although sometimes you may have to wait a bit for them to arrive. The location is great for your general NYC tourist destinations. Nothing negative to say about this place, if the price is right, you are not likely to regret your choice.

Overall a good stay in a central Manhatten hotel. My bed was super comfy, All staff were great at their job and really helpful. The carpets in the hallways looked plush. I especially liked the barman who was genuine and friendly. A few things weren't great. The fruit sold in the market was soft and not fresh. Most of all, from my 3rd night it became crystal clear that I had neighbours. Without them being noisy we may as well have had just a curtain separating us. I could hear every word and movement like they were right next to me. This was concerning and off putting especially hearing discriminatory language from them. What should you do in that situation?? In Central Manhatten of course its not going to be quiet but this was difficult as my privacy felt lost. I want to be supportive of the hotel so am keen to highlight the positives too but this 1 issue left a lasting impression on me of my time here.

I cannot recommend this hotel enough. I stayed there back in 2004 and loved it and was so glad that it was still there. Murray Hill is a great neighborhood that is centrally located (a few blocks from Grand Central). It is quieter and more residential than a lot of nearby neighborhoods, with less expensive places to eat, drugstores, grocery store, a post office, a convenience store, a laundromat, coffee shops, etc. I highly recommend Previti's Pizza, House of Lasagna, and Bagel Express. Their food was amazing and the staff at each were lovely. The hotel room was large by New York standards, as was the bathroom. The beds were very comfortable and there was a mini fridge, which was a pleasant surprise. The shower was absolutely wonderful, very large walk-in with excellent water pressure, which is not true of a lot of places in NYC. The weather was impacted by Hurricane Ian, so some nights we were too hot or too cold, because they had to switch back to heat, but that wasn't too bad. The staff here were very gracious and there was a gentleman out front who very kindly helped us with our bags and opened car doors for us, which was a nice treat.

My fiancé and I stayed here for three nights and would definitely come back again. The location is super convenient, being in midtown and only a couple blocks from Grand Central Station, but also feels somehow cozy, being on a slightly less busy street. The front desk staff were super helpful, friendly and professional, when whilst dealing other many other guests. And when we had a request, they resolved it quickly and easily. Checking out was a breeze, too. Our queen room was compact (as expected), and very comfortable. We found it to be tidy, clean and perfect for what we needed. The modern industrial look suited our preferences. And the bed was great, allowing us both to sleep well. Extra aesthetic touches around the hotel lobby/bar, where people are free to hangout/work, and the breathtaking view from the roof just added extra value to our overall experience.

The hotel is located opposite the United Nations, and there is a 24-hour pharmacy next to it. On the first night of our stay, the manager on duty was super nice and gave us two breakfast coupons. Next time we come to New York, we will stay at the Westin
