"We stayed for four days while visiting family in Newcastle and it was perfect. The location is excellent. It’s easy to reach from the motorway close to the north side of the city with plenty of amenities nearby including a pub, McDonald’s and InstaVolt chargers for my electric car. The staff were friendly and attentive in ensuring our twin room was on the ground floor to suit my mum‘s mobility needs and happily providing extra towels and a hairdryer when asked. As always with Travelodge, the room was clean fresh and comfortable, exactly what we like. We would happily stay again."

However, when got back to our room in the evening, there was a loud disco going on above us, from the brochure of the hotel it was indicated this would end at midnight. We still heard it at 2am . We also tried to order room service and got no answer on phone. Finally, we were woken at 8am Sunday morning by what sounded like cleaners moving all the furniture and scrapping the floor. We mentioned it on checking out, and although the staff apologised, it did not sound very sincere. Would be reluctant to return ."

"Where to start… if you are a masochist then you are in luck! Hard bed. Extortionate parking (20 a day). **** and alcohol fuelled neighbours wandering the streets, screaming and yelling, making sure you never enjoy more than an hours sleep and a bathroom that is so badly designed, you can’t have a bath or a shower! The scrambled eggs at breakfast are a solid, tasteless lump of yellowish matter. A true delight! To get into the car park we had to get the rough sleepers to move so we could drive down the access tunnel, which they were sleeping in. Nice guys and I was very uncomfortable having them pick up their belongings to allow me access. It felt very wrong. When we checked in we were told the car park is privately owned and despite the hotel advertising it at £10 per day, the charge is in fact, £20. Payable immediately. I’d rather that extra went to the guys in the tunnel. It was clear the front desk knew of the issues with false pricing online but don’t care. We went upstairs and found our deluxe room was anything but. The bath was so small, that as a 5 foot tall women, it was still too small for me! This did not prove to be an issue as the plug didn’t work and water just drained straight out. The shower is a fixed head, and was two foot above me. Designed for a man and of little practical use to me. I did ask for the plug to be fixed. It wasn’t! Could not wait to leave! Horrible experience around."

But perhaps because it was a fire station and police station, the yang energy was so strong that I woke up sweating profusely three nights even with the air conditioning off; the local nighttime temperature was close to zero degrees Celsius..."
