"I had an amazing stay at the Tides Inn for three nights in early spring. The hotel was at full occupancy, and I booked through a credit card service that provided a multi-category upgrade to a water-view suite. The room was impeccably clean—so much so that I felt like I might be its first guest. The service was also exceptional. Although I arrived late at night, the doorman brought my bags to the room without prompting while I grabbed dinner at the hotel bar before it closed. When I found a tick on my body, a member of the front desk promptly removed it for me. The bartender team at Salt & Meadow helped me choose exceptional bourbons to elevate my cocktails and became like friends over the course of my stay. I have zero complaints and felt the service went above and beyond in the small ways that make you feel like a truly valued guest. I can’t wait to come back."

"This was our second stay here at this wonderful place and it won't be our last. I wish I could live here! I can't say enough about Tom and Lexi who are both great hosts. The home is gorgeous, rooms are clean and comfy (wanted to take the bed home!), and delicious breakfasts every morning in the dining room. It is also walking distance to historic spots in Yorktown as well as restaurants which is very convenient. Can't wait to return!"

Whispering Pines by Hotel O Whitestone VA

"We booked a 2 night stay here, but at the last minute our plans changed. I tried to cancel and Travelocity told me to call the property. I called for hours and hours, but the line was continually busy. We arrived in town and went to the hotel several hours before checkin and informed the desk clerk that we needed to cancel. She told me that their phones had been down which was why i couldn't call them. Then, she looked me straight in the eye and said that their policy required we cancel the day before and that she would be registering us as a "NO SHOW" to Travelocity and billing our credit card. Wow, what greed!! During this time, my wife used the lobby restroom and found it disgusting with no towels, no soap and empty beer cans in the trash can. For the next 3 days, i called the hotel and the line was continually busy. I now think that the whole cancellation policy and phone line being dead is part of their scam to rip off people who need to cancel their reservations. Wow!!!"
