"Beautiful view in beach front (semi detached) cabins. We included breakfast during our stay which was fine (but take care some food had bugs). The rooms were fairly basic, not the most comfortable of beds and did not get cleaned during our 3 night stay. Water was provided and towels replaced once, left outside for us to collect. The restaurant was fairly reasonable, music at night. Unfortunately the rooms were very noisy, you could hear the neighbours during the night and lizards on the roof. The location is a lovely beach, not too far to walk on the beaches to tubtim, but a bit too far to walk to the main town."

"Leviman Hotel is almost the best hotel on Koh Samet. It is owned by the same group as the Rupu Hotel next door. You can drive here and park your car directly in the parking lot inside the pier. It has its own pier. The room I stayed in included a round-trip speedboat ticket for two people and two buffet breakfasts. The breakfast products were also quite good. The hotel service was very good. The hillside cottage where I stayed was a little noisy at night because there were many bullfrogs calling nearby at night. The hotel was pristine and had a beautiful environment. The hotel had its own private beach and you could snorkel for free (you need to bring your own snorkeling supplies or rent them). It is recommended to wear snorkeling shoes for snorkeling because the rocks are sharp. A hotel worth recommending."

"Beautiful view, peaceful location, good service staff, polite and friendly. The swimming pool is secretly too salty. Beyond the general salt water pool I went down to play for just a moment and my skin hurt a lot. Breakfast options are a little less."

"Lovely location with beach access. We stayed in a Cottage room, which had a large king-size bed and a single bed. The mattress was firm. Although the room was more than adequate for our stay, it is not luxurious. No room service is provided, but rooms are cleaned daily. Breakfast was included and offered thai food and western based breakfast items ( although it was luke warm at best) The dinner menu was very thai, fish based, but they did have pizzas or burger and bbq items. I ate mainly thai. Staff are very friendly and welcoming, although a couple of times we ordered food or drink for it to never appear. Beach .. sea was lovely and clear , and sand was soft and clean. You can walk over to the neighbouring bay for more restaurant options. The usual downer is the people that insist on reserving sunbeds and barely using them... frustrating when they are unused for 4 or more hours."

Accommodation & Ambience While the resort building itself shows its age, the refurbished rooms create a lovely ambience with beautiful lighting that transforms the older structure into something quite charming. We stayed on the third floor, which offered peaceful mountain views overlooking the national park forest rather than beach views. The setting is genuinely calm and quiet – exactly what we wanted for a family retreat. Important consideration: There's no elevator, so reaching upper floors requires quite a climb. As we joked, shuttling between the room and outside areas four times daily provides a workout in itself! This makes the resort unsuitable for elderly guests or anyone with mobility issues. Dining Experience The breakfast experience is delightful, served in a beachside restaurant where you can enjoy your meal with sand between your toes. The selection impresses with a good range of both Western and Thai options, including fresh fruits. The resort's beach restaurant serves quality food with excellent value for money – we tried multiple dishes and enjoyed them all. However, there's no room service, and the restaurant closes early (around 9:30-10 PM). When late-night cravings struck, we found the nearby 7-Eleven (just 5-6 minutes' walk) convenient for snacks. Room Amenities & Issues Room amenities are adequate though not luxurious. The shower area is well-designed with a spacious dressing area. However, we encountered an unpleasant odor from the bathroom drainage system that required some management during our stay. Activities & Surroundings For water activities like parasailing, snorkeling, and jet skiing, you'll need to walk to Sai Kaew Beach to find service providers – fortunately, we found excellent options there. Final Verdict Avatara Resort succeeds as a family-friendly destination that balances beachfront access, peaceful ambience, and reasonable pricing. While it has some limitations (no elevator, early restaurant closure, minor maintenance issues), the overall experience was enjoyable and memorable. Recommended for: Families seeking a calm beach getaway who don't mind some stairs and prefer a quieter resort atmosphere. Consider alternatives if: You need elevator access, late-night dining options, or luxury amenities."

"The hotel has a unique location with access to both sides of the island. You can enjoy the sunset and sunrise everyday. The beach is clean and the sea water is crystal clear. The staff service is outstanding, they took care of all details to make our stay unforgettable. We visited so many resorts in Thailand and I can say this is the best of the country. This resort is known as the sixth heaven I can confirm it is."

"What a great hotel. The location is idylic. The room was clean. The private beach was lovely and they had a fire show every night. The restaurant on site was the best on the island. The pool was nice. There is a motorbike rental shop conveniently right next door. The tour services offered are reasonably priced and not marked up just because they are offered by the hotel. My only complaint is that there are lots of dogs barking all night."

"The Ao Prao hotel is a gem.  The tomyum soup is the best in the world. The property is immaculate and the massage was fantastic. Our room was 101 and the best location on the property. The staff is exceptional and will bend over backwards for you. Zann and Ti are so helpful. The problem is the pollution and trash in the ocean. The hotel is excellent but the water is less than desirable for a holiday."
