"I have stayed at Flamingo Villa before (In the Garden Room), but this time I decided to stay in the loft room, which apparently is called the Family Room. Flamingo Villa is somewhat strange, since the âHotelâ is basically three rooms within the Samed Your House hotel. Our neighbors actually knocked on our door to try and check in ~ You need to call the phone number for Flamingo Villa in order to check in, as someone will come out to meet you. So, bottom line up front: Flamingo Villa is awesome, but get ready to kill a lot of mosquitos! The owners do a good job of lighting incense sticks to try and keep the them away, but there are fountains around the area and the mosquitos are no joke. I would say I killed at least 10 in our room, so it is super important to make sure you close the sliding doors behind you every time you go in and out of the room.
The Family Room was awesome. The lower floor is basically a living room with a large day bed and a big TV with great speakers. The toilet room is separate from the shower. The stairs to the loft are pretty steep, but once you get up there it is really nice. There are two queen beds in the loft, and the glass wall and sliding door separate the bedroom from the main room, which is great because the bedroom has its own AC unit, and the glass keeps out the mosquitoes. The beds were comfortable, but be careful because the ceiling is very low above the beds. The view from up in the loft is very peaceful, and the owners obviously spent a lot of time decorating the place (The Christmas tree was still up while we were there).
The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Sai Kaew Beach, and the pier for the ferry is only a 10 minute walk ~ but you can take a mini bus if you would like. The hotel is close to restaurants and stores, and there are two 7-11s close to the beach. We rented a motor bike the last time we were in Koh Samed, but Sai Kaew Beach seems to be the nicest on the island, so we just hung out there.
I love Flamingo Villa, and I am sure I will stay there again in the future."

LLiraWe stayed for 5 days in September. The weather was lovely and sunny, with occasional rain at night. The tides were quite noticeable: low in the morning, high in the evening. The beach itself was partially rocky, but past the pier, it was sandy. We had booked a family room with two beds, so we were very grateful when they upgraded us to two separate, adjoining rooms in one bungalow.
Our room was well-equipped with a new air conditioner, bathrobes, umbrellas, a beach bag, coffee-making facilities, bottled water, and toiletries (even a hair tie!). A hairdryer was also provided, and the bed featured a lovely canopy.
Overall, we had a very pleasant stay and would consider returning. The staff were incredibly friendly and accommodating, always happy to help with anything we needed, such as arranging a tuk-tuk to another hotel for 200 baht. Breakfasts were satisfactory.
However, we were quite disappointed with the dinner at the hotel restaurant. The food quality was poor; dishes were often undercooked or had small portions. The menu photos didn't accurately represent the food, and the dish descriptions were incorrectly translated. Subsequently, we opted to dine at a nearby family-run beach eatery, which served delicious and affordable meals.

GGuest UserThe taxi from the pier cost 250 baht. The beach right in front of the hotel is fantastic, and the male attendant who manages the towels was really good â he's the reason I gave the last 100 baht as a tip. His enthusiasm also led us to book a night squid fishing trip for 9 people.
However, all the staff here seem to have two different attitudes: one for Western guests and another for Chinese guests. While everyone else managed basic politeness, the female server in the restaurant (pictured in photo 2) was incredibly rude to us. This is my fifth time vacationing in Thailand, and I've also traveled to the Philippines, Malaysia, Singapore, Mauritius, the Maldives, and Hamilton Island, but this is honestly the first time I've encountered a staff member so rude. She pointed her finger at me and loudly demanded that I push the water bottle from the middle of the table to against the wall. I was completely stunned.
Upon check-in, they asked for 500 baht per night for an extra bed for our 6-year-old. Since the three of us could comfortably share the king-sized bed, we declined and only paid for the child's breakfast, which was 200 baht per day.
One evening, we also encountered teenagers on the beach who were indiscriminately bullying kids playing there. I never even saw something like this in Australia, yet it happened on Koh Samet. Thankfully, my English speaking skills are decent, and after a big argument, he ended up yelling that he was going to call the police.
Overall, I still wouldn't recommend booking a hotel here. The pricing attracts a certain type of clientele, and since there are many very cheap hotels nearby, the beach attracts all sorts of tourists.

Nnicky_bVery chilled place. Nestled in a cove with lovely white sand beach. Rocky in some areas. A handful of bars. Not too busy. Lots of dogs on the beach. Might be a problem if you have kids that are scared of dogs. Breakfast nice. Hotel staff are very attentive. They arranged for someone to fix the A/C while we were there. Quiet.
Location. Sounds of sea at night, which was very calming. Lovely location. Clean place with comfy beds. Not top end in terms of accommodation options, but certainly very pleasant and good value for money.

CChris ç墨迪Overall the hotel has certainly fallen over the past 3 years and itâs pretty sad to see this happen, if youâre a single traveler or a couple I would recommend but I couldnât recommend the hotel to families in its current state.
Management: Great management they listen to complaints, they are responsible and try to solve all issues. Sadly the management donât have so much to work with these days.
General staff: A large percentage of the staff are Cambodian and living in limbo with the current issues between both countries. With the exception of one or two Cambodian staff most are either depressed and miserable or damn right rude, unhelpful and disrespectful. (The floor manager explained this himself)
Rooms: Nice and simple rooms the do the job but aging fast. The rooms look good but are not high quality materials and it shows the labor and material quality is low and cheap. Showers have virtually no pressure when the hotel is busy and the water wonât reach higher than luke-warm.
Location: I have to say itâs one of the best locations on the island when considering location and facilities and I guess this is their main selling point. They have shops, bars, restaurants, coffee shop and more.
Patrons: Most of the year the majority of visitors are going to be Tha and Asian, they are respectful, they have manners and they will be great to holiday alongside. During Christmas to New Year there were too many rude Europeans especially Swedish tourists, these tourists camped and took over large areas of the bar and restaurants, they moved around furniture, they were rude and disrespectful to other tourists leaving trash noise and mess wherever they visited. (Staff and management ignored)
Note: This used to be a great hotel and I have continuously visited over the past several years. Unfortunately I have begun to see a degradation of the hotel, the attitude towards western tourists (due to poor behavior of westerners) as well as issues related to the diplomatic issues between Cambodia and Thailand. I due hope this improves in the future.
With new staff or new immigration laws as well as new investment into the hotel it could easily thrive once more.

GGuest UserLarissa consisted of Shelley huts in stiltsă the room is clean . The staff is friendly. Itâs very deep in about 15 mins from tge pier and taxi takes you to saew Kew beach hotel , you will have to walk another 5-6 mins on an uneven road . For visitors who cannot walk, the hotel is unsuitable .No breakfast and no cutlery so walk for every meal . Beach is near  .

The accommodation was peaceful, but the air conditioning in the room was very noisy because it's old. Everything else was great, and the service was good too. It's perfect for a family vacation where you truly want to relax. There's not much traffic passing by, so it's incredibly quiet.

GGuest UserThis hotel gave me a very mixed impression. It's located right on the beach, and the only access is from the beach itself. You'll have to carry your luggage across the sand (though the hotel does have porters if you ask at the front desk). We didn't know this when we checked in, as this detail wasn't in the hotel description. We arrived in the evening and had to drag a huge suitcase 15 meters across the sandy beach in sneakers, dodging people dining at tables. Our room was booked for the 1st floor (booking photo attached), but we were assigned a corner room on the 3rd floor. We spent the next three days trying to sort it out with the hotel. They admitted their mistake and promised to move us, but never did, even though 1st-floor rooms were available during our stay. In room 31B, the Wi-Fi signal was completely non-existent. I had to go out onto the balcony every time and stretch my arm with my phone towards the pool. The internet on the beach also worked poorly. The Wi-Fi was only good by the pool. The TV in our room also didn't work.
However, this was probably one of the few rooms in the hotel where you didn't need to draw the curtains, as the balcony view was of a wall (most rooms have glass windows and face each other). The hotel has a restaurant with some tables right on the beach; the menu is quite extensive, and the prices aren't inflated. The beach is nice, and the sea is magnificent. Breakfasts were good, with a wide selection, and the room was cleaned daily, with water provided. There's a pier about 15 meters from the hotel, and you can arrive and depart directly from there (300 baht per person). Near the hotel, there's a small shop, several restaurants along the beach, and bike rentals available. The reception can also call a tuk-tuk for you. On weekends, the reception and restaurant were open until 11 PM, and on weekdays until 9-10 PM.

FFrankaOLThis is my second time at this hotel. Definitely recommend. It's not in the busy hub of the island so not close to the bars and the centre with more shops and atm. You can get there with the island bus or taxi. It does boast easy access to one of the more beautiful beaches. Loads of restaurants around, and some karaoke and live music. The restaurants around there can be very pricey.

GGuest UserThe location is pretty good, just a 5-minute walk to Saikaew Beach. The hotel bar and pool are beautiful. This time, I stayed on the third floor, but there was no elevator, or at least I wasn't aware of one because the staff told me to just take the stairs from this side. If you're traveling with elderly people who have knee problems, climbing the stairs might be difficult. Inside the room, the air conditioning wasn't very cool; it only blew air. The hairdryer was broken, but when I informed the staff, they immediately brought a brand-new one, which I really appreciated! The towels had a slight odor, and the bathroom also had a stale smell. I wish they had some kind of air freshener or essential oil to make the room smell nicer and feel fresher. The bathroom only provides shampoo and shower gel; there's no toothbrush or toothpaste. Perhaps you have to ask the staff for them, but usually, at other hotels I've stayed at, these items are provided without asking. Breakfast is served until 10 AM. Personally, the food wasn't anything to rave about, but the staff were lovely and welcoming.
