Oakwood Studios Singapore

Orchard Road Singapore|2.87km from Mun Hean Building
This review is long over due. My extended family and I stayed at Oakwood Studios Singapore through most of December 2022 and onto the first week of January 2023. The circumstances around our stay was very difficult but the management and staff at the Oakwood Studios made our stay most comfortable and we can’t thank them enough. This is not your typical service apartment but one with a special touch. And it seems to be popular with expats on short assignments to Singapore and families who have patients being treated at MT E Orchard or many of the other medical facilities across Singapore. Nestled across from York hotel and one building next to Quincy this is a most unique property. I have stayed at both the others in the past but I prefer Oakwood by far with its balcony in every room and clean and modern style with kitchenette. But it’s the people that made all the difference. I would like to specially thank Hitesh for going out of his way and even while on holiday to accommodate our ever changing dates and need for rooms. A big thanks to Nass as well for always stepping up and being most accommodating. Thank you Dan, Denise, Kym, Jet and Shobina for all the help at reception, with the brilliant breakfast boxes and recommendations. The residents loved the Thursday night cocktail and snacks which were complimentary and the many hidden outdoor places in the building (including the roof top pool). A must stay in Singapore for those planning to stay for a week or longer. At the time we were there, we heard that the Ascott group had bought Oakwood Studios. As good as the Ascott brand are themselves, I do hope they allow Oakwood Studios to retain its unique style and personality.

Lyf Farrer Park Singapore

Lyf Farrer Park is an amazing property. Bustling with life and very lively. Good for long stay. The ground floor lobby has a gym, laundromat, working bay and a hep coffee and beer joint. Fourth floor is cooking bay and an area to laze around with open gym, garden and play zone for kids. Rooms are smartly done with modern interiors.

This capsule hotel budget-wise is recommendable. The location is great and 5 minutes away from the metro station. I have taken the mixed capsule. I did not expect much because of the price but I stuttered with disappointment when I was there. I availed myself of a stay with free breakfast for 5 days and in these 5 days, never I had tried and seen any food. What I saw are leftovers kept uncleaned. I usually wake up at 5-6 am because I have a conference by 7 am. By that time, no food on the counter. The toilets were furthermore small and crowded. No social distancing or infection control practices. The spaces are cluttered, unkempt, and unmaintained. I have raised the issue to an Agoda representative who told me that I should have the breakfast inclusion. Still, the next day, no breakfast was there. I planned to talk to the reception but most of the time, staff are not present there.

I have been travelling for business extensively for a while. Thus far, Coliwoo Balestier is simply one of the finest in terms of quality in service, quality in meeting customer expectations where one expects the service to be potentially rendered is meted out to the finest, and also Coliwoo's excellent customer service staff I have ever encountered Ms Kelly, this enchanting and serene place guarded sacredly by its guardians such as Ms Kelly whom I cited before, its time the entire hotel industry relook at their customer service rendered and product provided,Coliwoo Balestier is simply the finest and best thus far.

Ya that is true according to my wording if you dont have any other option then you can stay here othere please avoid. i stayed here for 1 night, but almost not comfertable, before i checked in a room when i layed down on my bed, it is keep on moving i asked to change my room and they did it but the room is not same like before but bed still moving some time. the cleanness of also not up to the mark. and they charged for wifi to heard, i was socked and the funny things is that you can use only one device with one password so you you would like to use aother device you have to buy another password. thats all ok but still after paying the wifi is not woking good. staff also lalking bit rude. At last for me sorry to say but not value for money. will never back with this property.

The hotel is very convenient. It is next to the Novena MRT station. The bus outside the door is 10 minutes away from Orchard Road. There is a kitchen in the room. You can use hot milk and boiled eggs in the morning. In addition, the waiters here can speak Chinese. They are really friendly to people who do not speak English.
Value Hotel Nice

Average stay. The room was extremely small despite what was promised, but at least it was clean. One thing to highlight - the front desk tried to scam user - in fact he did. Checked-in late in the evening and the room booked was the slightly larger one with window & ledge-cum-platform (to place belongings) but apparently he pulled a fast one and actually sneakily checked user in to the one with none of the above except a clear window. When user saw and approached front desk immediately, he tried hard again by saying “ya that one got window ah” - though he obviously knew what was being asked. Upon further probing, he finally gave up and said “oh no more of that room (of said layout) already”, even though user obviously paid more for the said room for a reason. Nonchalant attitude by this man kinda ruined the overall experience, although the stay is pretty average. User ended up only staying for less than 3 hours before deciding to check-out in the middle of the night - of course, not without feeling absurd and kinda cheated. He even ridiculed “next time you want to check in then come earlier, don’t come at this time then no room” - lol first of all, if you leave the room type as available for booking, then it better be available and ready from the standard check-in time, and reserved all the way till standard check-out timing as paid for, right... Instead of overbooking or just coming up with some lame excuses then blame the hotel guest when it was obviously the hotel’s fault! Wonder how hotel guests who arrive in the country late in the evening will have to deal with the property if this is really the case - lol, imagine having to wait out in the streets in the middle of the night till the next standard check-in time because the property finds the guest “checking-in too late”... Ridiculous and dishonest service - so that needs to be worked on. Location was good though. Stayed in the other Value Hotel (Balestier) just around the corner just a few weeks prior and the experience was far better, and in fact, no major issues.
