I’ve stayed at a few Gate Hotels by Hulic and I really enjoy them. Especially in Kyoto. This one has fewer amenities. I have to say I was disappointed by my particular room which was facing a water storage tank of the adjacent building, room 515. The carpeting had stains and was faded, the bedding, especially pillows and nightwear, reeked. After many reuses, washing will no longer remove the strong odor. I did request a new pillow which they happily provided. Of note, I previously stayed at this hotel and the odor was not this strong The room has great amenities such as a Nespresso machine, fridge, etc. The 13th floor lobby has a good view Only out done by the rooftop deck. There is a restaurant and bar. Location is terrific if you are visiting the famous shrines or shopping area. Super close to the ASAKUSA subway.

The location is very good, very close to Kaminariji Temple, and there are many restaurants nearby. The transportation is convenient, and there are less people at night. Moreover, I personally think the hotel mattresses are more comfortable than those in other hotels! but, If you want to book a large bed, you really need to look carefully. We, two adults, booked a double bed room. We didn't look carefully when booking, thinking it was a room with two mattresses (you can check the pictures on the official website). Two days before my departure to Japan, I took a closer look and found out that the bed in the room was a bunk bed with two floors. There was no mattress on the upper floor, but a wooden board (the concept of letting guests sit on the upper floor?). I tried to contact trip.con customer service, but the result was There was no room available for me to change, so I was asked to contact the Japanese hotel myself. In the end, the Japanese hotel had no way to help me change the room because I checked in automatically. We stayed for 4 nights and never went up there. We could only use it to store some clothes and coats. As for getting out of bed on one side (!), getting in and out of the bed is a bit troublesome. Moreover, because it is a bunk bed, basically half of the scenery outside the window is blocked, which feels a bit wasteful, because the scenery outside the window can see the temple, which is a very good scenery! Summarize, The above mistakes were caused by individuals not paying attention and have nothing to do with the hotel. I write such a long article just to share with other travelers coming to Tokyo that they should pay attention when booking this hotel. Because when traveling to Tokyo, everyone must be tired from shopping/shopping every day and go back to the hotel. If you go back to a comfortable hotel, you will be in a better mood! I stayed in a room with a train simulator, which was happy for rail fans. The ”train simulator real thing” used for the crew training of TOBU railway is installed in the room. It’s a short walk to the center of Asakusa and the temple. There are many great restaurants nearby. The hotel has a shabu shabu restaurant. The ryokan is clean, people at the reception are very helpful. The rooms are clean, spacious by Tokyo standards and the beds quite comfortable. We had a room with a private shower and a separate bath tub outside, very nice to soak in the early morning (when it’s not to hot yet). There was also a balcony with chairs and a table —but temperatures didn’t allow us to use it. The room is wel appointed and has everything you need. It has a clean but traditional Japanese atmosphere. The Japanese breakfast is fantastic and highly recommended, wel worth the money.

I used the room ”Sakura” on the top floor with my friends. There was only one ”Sakura” room on the top floor, so it was very spacious, clean and comfortable. This time I stayed at the Lotte Residences Asakusa in Tokyo. I loved it because of the panda room (hahaha). What shocked me was that when I got up on the first morning, I found that there was a temple in my room (right next to it?) , there are actually (one after another tombstones) inside. Although I said ”I'm not afraid! It's a lie”, it was still a quite interesting experience! Because in Taiwan, there is no such custom of ”getting along day and night” with the tombstones~

Situated at a very convenient location (near Ueno station). Room is also spacious for Japan’s standard and clean. Check in and check out process was very fast as it is conducted via the use of machines. We were very lucky to be able to immediately checked into our room prior to the usual check in time as the room was ready. We were very glad about it! Service was quick as well when we requested for additional pillows. The pillows and bed were very comfortable! Will definitely return!

There is a bakery and a snack shop selling biscuits downstairs. The hotel is behind Sensoji Temple. It is very close to the hotel. It is also not far from the Don Quijote shopping area. The only drawback is that it is close to Asakusa Station on the Tokyo Metro Asakusa Line to Narita Airport. far away! ! Especially if you are pushing luggage, you must take Exit A2b, which is at Komagata Bridge. It takes about 15 minutes to walk to the hotel! Although I checked the map before traveling, I didn’t bother to check where the elevator entrance is... As a result, I have to walk a long way to push my luggage. Fortunately, there is a bus right outside the hotel. You can take the 08 or 64 bus and get off at Tobu Asakusa Station. It will be closer if you push through, or take it directly to Oshiage Station or Nippori Station and take the Narita Line. The closest station to the hotel is Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Line. It takes about 6 or 7 minutes to walk and can go directly to Akihabara. If you want to go to Shinjuku, take the Ginza Line. There is an elevator at Exit B, which is about a ten-minute walk from the hotel. You can also take the bus coming out of the hotel, but the Ginza Line is not connected to the Asakusa Line (to Narita Airport)! In short, Tokyo is too big, and the same station name does not mean that they are in the same place.
