The price was affordable, and it was convenient. We stayed here as a stopover for Disneyland. It took less than an hour to get to Yokohama Station from Disneyland by bus. Then, I got a bit lost at Yokohama Station and ended up taking a taxi here. The room was quite spacious, and the view from the window was lovely. There's an ice machine on the 9th-floor lobby, and a convenience store downstairs, which was really handy. Just a heads-up, check-out is at 10 AM! We actually dawdled until 10:30 and only left after getting a call reminding us to check out. Grateful they didn't charge an late fee đŸ„č

This hotel is a typical Japanese hotel, with relatively small rooms where it's hard to fully open your suitcase, and a miniature bathroom. However, the front desk service is very warm and welcoming, and the facilities are generally comprehensive. It's a good budget hotel in Japan. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from Shin-Yokohama Station, and there are plenty of dining options nearby, including fast food, various grilled skewers, and seafood. Overall, it's very convenient.

It was a decent place to stay after my flight. The only drawback was that public transportation wasn't very convenient. Although it looked close to the airport, it actually took about half an hour to get there using public transport. The room and amenities were perfectly fine, though. Overall, it was a good choice.

The hotel's location is super convenient; there's a direct walkway from Minatomirai Station right to the lobby, and it's only two stops to Yokohama Station. Plus, there are tons of shopping malls nearby, making it perfect for shopping. The room was spacious with a beautiful bay view, and it was quiet and comfortable. Excellent value for money!

Hakone Hotel Kowakien, a natural onsen hotel offering dinner and breakfast that I'd rate 90 out of 100. It's not easy to impress me in Hakone, the famed hot spring town in Kanagawa Prefecture, but this hotel truly excelled across all criteria, showing a consistently high standard. Both the front desk and restaurant staff were attractive, with fluent English and standard accents; notably, they didn't employ any Southeast Asian staff. The hotel facilities are relatively new and well-designed, and the cleanliness is exceptional. The public areas offer plenty of sofa seating, and the temperature control is precise, allowing guests to comfortably wander around in traditional yukata without feeling cold. The air is fresh with no strong artificial scents, embodying a 'Natural and Pure' concept. The restaurant, named Fontainebleau, lives up to its name with authentic French pastries. The 'all-you-can-eat' style still maintains high-quality ingredients, and there's an unlimited supply of Sapporo Asahi draft beer and Gekkeikan sake. What's more, the self-service alcohol bar is also open during breakfast, which seems quite common for Japanese guests – their physical resilience certainly differs from ours! Observing Japanese dining concepts, you'll notice several characteristics: a wide variety of dishes, comprehensive nutrition, low-temperature preservation, minimal oil and seasoning, and avoiding high-temperature cooking to prevent nutrient loss. The sauna is also quite professional, featuring a 12-minute sand timer, anti-scald mats, humidity and temperature displays, and powerful heating elements that ensure you won't waste any time. Whether you prefer mountain views, garden vistas, or indoor hot springs, there's an option for everyone. For those interested, the address is: 1297 Ninotaira, Hakone-machi, Kanagawa Prefecture 250-0407

This hotel boasts a prime location, just over 100 meters from Motomachi-Chukagai Station (Minatomirai Line). Yamashita Park is conveniently situated right downstairs, offering lovely views of Yokohama Port. While the immediate surroundings are a bit light on dining options, as I didn't venture into Chinatown, you'll find mostly Western eateries (like McDonald's) nearby. The area itself is wonderfully quiet. The front desk is located on the 12th floor. As for the service, you'll have to form your own opinion. If you don't speak Japanese, don't expect particularly deep interactions; communication felt somewhat superficial, and there wasn't much genuine connection. On the positive side, the room was excellent – spacious and featuring a very comfortable bed. Hotel staff were generally polite and offered greetings, which is typical good practice in Japan. It's truly quiet, making it ideal for a relaxing shower and a peaceful night's sleep. Shopping in Yokohama is also easily accessible from here. Both the 12th floor and the rooftop offer drinking options. These could be pleasant spots to chat with a few friends, but be aware that the prices are quite steep.

Shin-Yokohama is quite a distance from central Yokohama. If you're looking to explore areas like Minato Mirai, you'll definitely need to factor in some travel time and transfers. The hotel's location is decent, situated above the 10th floor of a shopping mall connected to the station. The ambiance is acceptable, but service was average, and the front desk staff's English proficiency was limited. The rooms are standard. Overall, it's more suitable for business travelers and not really ideal for a leisure trip.

The room was a bit small, but there was still enough space for two large 26-inch suitcases to be fully open. The bathroom was compact but had everything you needed, and the water temperature was great for a relaxing bath after a long day. The breakfast buffet was simple, but the food was quite good. I even tried the local specialty, whitebait rice, for the first time for breakfast and managed to finish a whole bowl. The only downsides were that there was no bottled water provided in the room, and the front desk didn't offer hot water.

I loved this hotel! It is very far from most tourist attractions, but it is very close to the metro. The reception staff are very kind and professional, and they speak excellent English. My favourite part of my stay was the delicious breakfast, which wasn’t included in my reservation but I could pay the fee at the restaurant no problem. I would definitely stay here again! rt

The hotel is quite large with an old-fashioned yet somewhat luxurious decor. It's a bit far from the subway station, about a 15-minute walk. However, regarding hygiene, on the first night, I found what looked like a bloodstain on the duvet. I was too late and too tired to do anything about it then, so I just went to sleep. But this flaw really didn't align with my impression of Japanese hotels or Hilton. The next day, I left early and didn't have time to mention it to the hotel. When I returned, though, the bloodstain was gone, which suggests they changed the duvet? Is that something to be happy about? Furthermore, this was the only hotel in Japan that charged me a deposit. I checked out very early, and there was no one at the front desk. Luckily, a cleaning lady helped me call a receptionist who came from the lounge to assist me, and she had to go back and forth again to get my deposit for me. I felt bad disturbing the front desk so early. Many hotels now have self-checkout machines, so I'm not sure why this one not only doesn't have one but also charges a deposit, adding an extra step to the process.

GGuest UserI spent a wonderful night here during New Year's Eve. The waiter barely understands people and foreign languages, but he is friendly and good at communication. I booked a public bathroom first, but then I changed it to a private bath when there was room. My satisfaction improved a lot! The hotel is very close to Hakoyƍ-Yumoto Station, and the taxi cost was less than 1,000 yen. Later, we couldn't get a taxi and it was very comfortable for us to walk to the station for 15 minutes with our childrenđŸłïžđŸŒˆ

AAnonymous UserThe hotel has a lovely little garden that's beautiful both day and night. The dinner buffet was excellent, with a wide variety of dishes, including seafood, crawfish, and king crab – much better than breakfast. On the first floor, there's free ice cream; just ask the front desk for tokens. There's a good selection, and it's delicious. The chocolate cones were especially crispy.

AAnonymous UserWe booked a hot spring hotel on short notice and were very satisfied with it. We arrived early and could not check in until after 3:30 pm, but fortunately we could leave our luggage at the hotel. The staff helped us make the bed when we were having dinner in the evening. There was a rich variety of dinner, but we didn’t really like the side dishes. It would have been better if the side dishes were replaced with sashimi. We even had a surprise dessert after the meal, which made us very happy. The breakfast the next day was also very filling and delicious. The experience is very good and recommended for staying.

JJiatengSince it was my first time making a reservation, I had some trouble getting into the room, but they responded quickly so there was no problem. The accommodation fee was cheap, so I was able to spend more money on sightseeing. There were convenience stores, restaurants, and parking lots nearby, so it was comfortable.

MM28594****Whenever I visit Yokohama, I always stay here. The rooms are clean and tidy, and I'm very satisfied with their size and layout. When I have a lot of luggage, the staff even help me carry it to my room. Transportation is super convenient from here, and there's also a parking lot downstairs. As long as they keep up this standard, I'll continue choosing this hotel.

GGuest UserOverall an ok stay. A bit hard to find, very limited English spoken by the staff which led to some confusion (even for the representatives who were assigned to us by English speakers). Felt quite formal and not that warm Room was more or less as expected, and the dinner and breakfast meals were quite elaborate. Felt that breakfast was actually the stronger meal of the two, so wasn’t necessarily worth it to pay extra for dinner. I’d likely skip doing dinner in the future. The room attendant who helped us was very kind and attentive, although we had a bit of language barrier given we don’t speak Japanese. The big disappointment was even though the ryokan is advertised as allowing guests to book one of the larger hot springs on the property for private use for 45 minutes, we weren’t able to do this. We arrived within the designated check in time and were told that it was all booked up for the day. There was no way to book in advance and we were only staying for one night, and they didn’t try to accommodate allowing us to book at all for the next day before checkout. This really hampered the experience overall - we weren’t that interested in using the gender segregated facility (was traveling with my partner who is the opposite gender) as we wouldn’t be able to spend time together, and the tub in our room was quite small. They should amend this policy to allow all guests to book a private hot spring time or not advertise it as part of the room! Feels like we got cheated out of the service and we weren’t offered anything else as an alternative. I would have booked another ryokan had I known this were the case - there are many others in Hakone which are much better value and have nicer / newer private facilities for around the same price. I wouldn’t recommend Yama no Chaya given this was a big part of what we thought would make it a good experience

Keiseki meals (dinner and breakfast) are served in the room. Food is delicious! And love the private outdoor onsen!! U get to book for 30 minutes per day for the stay. Well worth the price.

JJinRongThe hotel's location is excellent!👍 Coming from Tokyo, we took the Odakyu Line OH01 (starting station) from Shinjuku West Exit to Odawara Station OH47. From there, we just walked across the platform to transfer to the Hakone Tozan Railway to Hakone-Yumoto Station OH51. After exiting the station, we crossed the pedestrian bridge, took the elevator down to the river, and walked across the red bridge, and there was the hotel. The path is very flat, perfect for those traveling with luggage. Since we only booked our Hakone stay two days in advance, there were no connecting rooms available. We stayed in a standard room the first night and then moved to a Japanese-style room the second day, which had a great view. The hotel breakfast included natto, and the rest was pretty standard. If you go early, it's less crowded, but after 8 AM, you'll likely have to queue for a table. You can also take a public bus from the hotel to Togendai or Gotemba, but buses are less frequent after 9:30 AM, so it's advisable to leave early. All in all, while the hotel was a bit pricey, its convenient location and multiple transportation options made it worthwhile.
