① The service was excellent! On our first day, we lost our Suica card and couldn't retrieve our luggage from the JR station locker. We asked the front desk staff for help, and they made three calls, but couldn't get through. It was after 5 PM on a Sunday, so we thought the locker staff might be off duty or gone for the day. We were resigned to dealing with it the next morning, but shortly after we got to our room, the front desk called back – they had reached the staff and we could pick up our luggage that same day! We were incredibly surprised and grateful! ② Breakfast is on the ninth floor with a great view. The variety isn't huge, but it's delicious. We ate there for five days, and they changed up the dishes slightly each day. Eating at the hotel is convenient and the food is good, though for night owls, it means you can't sleep in; you have to get up by 9-ish for breakfast. ③ The room environment was clean and tidy, not too big and not too small. Pajamas were provided on the bed, and the air purifier worked well. The TV had a platform for watching Chinese TV shows. The only minor drawbacks were that the space between the TV and the bed was a bit narrow, and the curtains weren't very blackout, so we sometimes woke up at 8 or 9 AM. For environmental reasons, there's no bottled water in the room, but there are cups you can use to get water from the dispenser by the elevator. I didn't use it, as it seemed a bit inconvenient; buying a large bottle of water at the 7-Eleven downstairs wasn't expensive anyway. The toothpaste comes in small single-use tabs, good for one or two applications. If the room isn't serviced, and no one replaces them, you need to pick up more from a small drawer opposite the front desk. This area also had Yokohama maps available. The air conditioning only provided cool air. The days I was there, temperatures were in the teens (Celsius), and one day it was only 8 degrees, but the room felt fine. I'm not sure if it would be cold in winter. ④ It's about a 15-minute walk to Yokohama Station. By the third or fourth day, we were pretty familiar with the route, and you can take shortcuts just like in domestic subway stations. From the hotel, walk straight ahead to the overpass, take the escalator down from Sogo, and you'll reach Yokohama Station. However, for your first time, I'd recommend following walking directions on the surface streets (I did this when checking in from Yokohama Station, using Google Maps) to avoid getting lost. The hotel is also a short walk to the seaside and the Red Brick Warehouse. Getting around feels quite convenient. Overall, I booked this hotel for about 700 JPY per night (including breakfast), and personally, I think it offers good value for money and is a worthwhile choice.

Overall, this is a pretty clean hotel. The room was spacious and quite new, perfectly adequate for two people, and the bed was also a good size. However, its location is a bit far from Yokohama Station. You'll need to walk 5 to 10 minutes to Shin-Yokohama Station first, then transfer trains to Yokohama Station. The price was very affordable; at just 208 for one night, it offered excellent value for money. Plus, the Ramen Museum is conveniently located right next door, where you can enjoy making your own ramen and explore the exhibits.

My flight from KL landed earlier by 20 minutes. Once I got my luggage, I took an airport taxi to the hotel. It took just 10 minutes to get from Haneda T3, there was no traffic. Arrived at the hotel at about 10:40pm. Upon arrival, the night duty attendant checked me in. It was a very quick process, showed me my room, gave me wifi password, etc and that was it. Although the Hotel is only a 21-room hotel, where room size ranges between 158 sq ft to 355 sq ft, it is very well compensated by the hotel and hotel room’s cleanliness, attentive service and polite and proactive staff. Scherry, the Duty Manager, is a gem and is very knowledgeable of the area. She has given me tips on how to go around the neighbourhood, where to get food, and how to get to the Tokyo International Cruise Terminal, efficiently and cheaply. Thank you Scherry for your professionalism and service. So of you are planning to visit Tokyo and needed a hotel to stay close to Haneda airport (without breaking your bank balance) and before moving on to your next destination, like a cruise or further afield, I highly recommend that you try and stay at Hotel Imalle and look for Scherry. I am pretty sure she will look after you.

View: The room offers a fantastic view, the lake-view room on the 19th floor provides a spacious and comfortable panorama. Parking: Free! Just navigate to the hotel and drive into the large parking lot you'll see (we circled three times, but the signs are actually very clear). After getting your parking ticket, check in and register it at the front desk. You can then enter and exit as many times as you like, free of charge, which is very convenient. Completely free. Facilities: Surprisingly dated. Booking this for over 2000 yen during New Year's, it felt like a Japanese budget hotel. Seriously needs an upgrade; it might deter families. Choosing a Japanese-style room would be much better. Food: Breakfast was great. For other meals, we had to make reservations due to New Year's, so we ended up eating instant noodles (there are many convenience stores nearby). Activities: During New Year's, there were traditional cultural activities in the lobby, which was a nice experience.

Hakone Hotel Kowakien, a natural onsen hotel offering dinner and breakfast that I'd rate 90 out of 100. It's not easy to impress me in Hakone, the famed hot spring town in Kanagawa Prefecture, but this hotel truly excelled across all criteria, showing a consistently high standard. Both the front desk and restaurant staff were attractive, with fluent English and standard accents; notably, they didn't employ any Southeast Asian staff. The hotel facilities are relatively new and well-designed, and the cleanliness is exceptional. The public areas offer plenty of sofa seating, and the temperature control is precise, allowing guests to comfortably wander around in traditional yukata without feeling cold. The air is fresh with no strong artificial scents, embodying a 'Natural and Pure' concept. The restaurant, named Fontainebleau, lives up to its name with authentic French pastries. The 'all-you-can-eat' style still maintains high-quality ingredients, and there's an unlimited supply of Sapporo Asahi draft beer and Gekkeikan sake. What's more, the self-service alcohol bar is also open during breakfast, which seems quite common for Japanese guests – their physical resilience certainly differs from ours! Observing Japanese dining concepts, you'll notice several characteristics: a wide variety of dishes, comprehensive nutrition, low-temperature preservation, minimal oil and seasoning, and avoiding high-temperature cooking to prevent nutrient loss. The sauna is also quite professional, featuring a 12-minute sand timer, anti-scald mats, humidity and temperature displays, and powerful heating elements that ensure you won't waste any time. Whether you prefer mountain views, garden vistas, or indoor hot springs, there's an option for everyone. For those interested, the address is: 1297 Ninotaira, Hakone-machi, Kanagawa Prefecture 250-0407

Opened just a year ago after a complete renovation, this is a very modern hotel. Since all the ground-floor, ocean-facing spaces are restaurants, the hotel lobby is uniquely located on the 12th floor. This scenic lobby also doubles as a café, where guests can sit on the outdoor balcony overlooking the view. There's a designated smoking area by the side entrance of the lobby. The facilities are brand new, and the layout is clean, spacious, and stylish. We stayed in a triple room, and even with suitcases open, there was still plenty of space – perfectly suited to Chinese guests' preferences. The bedding is high quality and available for purchase. Let's talk about breakfast. Upon check-in, guests are informed of two options: Japanese breakfast, served at the 12th-floor café, and Western breakfast, served at the 1st-floor Western restaurant. The Japanese option offers three set menus, while the Western option features four main sets. After ordering, you can help yourself to the buffet bar for salads, drinks, bread, and more. The Western breakfast was so delicious that we didn't get a chance to try the Japanese one. Regarding the hotel's location, opinions may vary. Most people might choose to stay in Sakuragicho or Minato Mirai, as this hotel is a bit off the beaten path, situated near Yamashita Park. The Summer Festival is held here, allowing visitors to truly experience the atmosphere of traditional Japanese festivals. The hotel faces the sea, directly opposite the Hikawa Maru ocean liner. As the only surviving international ocean liner from WWII, it's definitely worth boarding and exploring. It's a 5-minute walk from the hotel to the subway station, providing easy access to all Yokohama stops. Directly across the street is a bus stop with direct service to Haneda Airport, with buses running almost every hour. Within a 5-minute walk, you'll find Takashimaya department store; Chinatown is 10 minutes away, as is a massive Don Quijote store. A lifestyle plaza is a 20-minute walk, and there's also a Montbell outlet store where we spent four hours. This outlet store offers tax-free shopping, but it requires downloading a third-party app and incurs a 3% service fee, which makes the process a bit inconvenient. Yokohama truly lives up to its reputation as an international port city. Around the hotel, you'll find a wide array of Western restaurants, with impeccable ambiance and cuisine, and even handsome waiters. It's a very cosmopolitan city.

The hotel is located right above Shin-Yokohama JR Station, so parking is quite expensive at 2200 yen per night. The upside is that you can take the elevator directly from B2 where you park to the 10th-floor front desk. The front desk staff's attitude was pretty average, and the check-in process was a bit slow. Check-out was fine though, you just drop your key card in a box. The hotel is very quiet and bright. Even though you can see people dining on the 10th floor, the soundproofing is excellent, making it very peaceful. Shopping downstairs is incredibly convenient, with stores like Big Camera, Loft, Uniqlo, GU, a bookstore, gift shops, bento stands, and various pastry stalls. Downstairs, you'll find the JR and Shinkansen entrances, as well as the municipal subway.

The hotel has a wonderful location, very close to the station and surrounded by many nice cafés. It’s also convenient to have a large and clean Don Quijote and a big pharmacy just a couple of minutes away, and there is a konbini right on the ground floor. The room was spacious and clean, and the breakfast was delicious, offering both Japanese and Western options. One downside was that my special request to stay away from the elevator (I clearly mentioned it when booking on Trip.com) didn’t seem to be noticed, as I was given the closest room to it! No other rooms were that close. I was very tired after traveling and didn’t go back to reception to ask for a change, especially since the staff kindly allowed me to check in an hour earlier than the official time. Surprisingly, it was not noisy at all during the night, so it didn’t bother me. Overall, it was a pleasant stay, but I would appreciate more attention to guest requests in the future.

First time in Japan, so I chose this hotel based on location and price, with my desire for higher floor rooms for a view. I stayed near Shinagawa station, and also in Osaka, all with the same budget per night. This hotel was the best of the 3, very nice facilities and amenities (7/11 in the lobby!!), with a spacious room. I'd probably pass on the buffet breakfast next time, but that's just me, there was a wide selection for everyone. I would definitely stay here again if I'm in that area.

The hotel is quite large with an old-fashioned yet somewhat luxurious decor. It's a bit far from the subway station, about a 15-minute walk. However, regarding hygiene, on the first night, I found what looked like a bloodstain on the duvet. I was too late and too tired to do anything about it then, so I just went to sleep. But this flaw really didn't align with my impression of Japanese hotels or Hilton. The next day, I left early and didn't have time to mention it to the hotel. When I returned, though, the bloodstain was gone, which suggests they changed the duvet? Is that something to be happy about? Furthermore, this was the only hotel in Japan that charged me a deposit. I checked out very early, and there was no one at the front desk. Luckily, a cleaning lady helped me call a receptionist who came from the lounge to assist me, and she had to go back and forth again to get my deposit for me. I felt bad disturbing the front desk so early. Many hotels now have self-checkout machines, so I'm not sure why this one not only doesn't have one but also charges a deposit, adding an extra step to the process.

GGuest UserI spent a wonderful night here during New Year's Eve. The waiter barely understands people and foreign languages, but he is friendly and good at communication. I booked a public bathroom first, but then I changed it to a private bath when there was room. My satisfaction improved a lot! The hotel is very close to Hakoyō-Yumoto Station, and the taxi cost was less than 1,000 yen. Later, we couldn't get a taxi and it was very comfortable for us to walk to the station for 15 minutes with our children🏳️🌈

11346676****Hakone Kowakien Ten-yu Hotel was an amazing experience! The hotel boasts multiple natural hot springs with a rich variety of baths and breathtaking scenery; soaking in them left me feeling completely refreshed. The rooms are spacious and elegant, with stylish Japanese decor that ensures privacy. The dinner buffet was exquisite, featuring fresh and delicious ingredients. The staff were warm and attentive, always greeting guests with a smile. Its convenient location also offers easy access to transportation. Both the facilities and service truly reflect the high quality of Japanese onsen hotels. Highly recommended!

11360173****Ryori-yaku (restaurant name), the hot springs in Hakone are unparalleled, but the food here really deserves mention. I've been to Ryori-yaku in Izu before, and compared to that, this one probably suits my taste better. It's not as sweet, so the food is refreshing and not cloying. The only downside is that the rooms are really small—every inch of space is precious!

AAnonymous UserWe booked a hot spring hotel on short notice and were very satisfied with it. We arrived early and could not check in until after 3:30 pm, but fortunately we could leave our luggage at the hotel. The staff helped us make the bed when we were having dinner in the evening. There was a rich variety of dinner, but we didn’t really like the side dishes. It would have been better if the side dishes were replaced with sashimi. We even had a surprise dessert after the meal, which made us very happy. The breakfast the next day was also very filling and delicious. The experience is very good and recommended for staying.

SSijiepannaketelinxiangruThis hotel is an absolute steal for the price! The room is well-equipped, the AC heats and cools quickly, and the hot water supply is stable. The cleanliness is impeccable, with not a speck of dust even in the corners. Despite being in the city center, the room is surprisingly quiet. The breakfast isn't lavish, but it offers a good variety and everything is fresh. The front desk staff is very responsive and quick to address any needs. The value for money far exceeds expectations, highly recommended for budget travelers.

KkewinnThis five-star hotel in Yokohama truly redefines luxury with its impeccable details and sophisticated ambiance. Every moment, from check-in to check-out, was a delightful surprise, making it my top recommendation for anyone visiting Yokohama—a true hidden gem! The hotel's location is absolutely superb, nestled in the charming, exotic Yamashita-cho. It's within walking distance of Yokohama Station and close to popular attractions like Minato Mirai 21 and the Red Brick Warehouse. Getting to Chinatown and Sankeien Garden is also incredibly convenient, making it perfect for both sightseeing and business trips. What truly captivated me was its ”East-meets-West” design philosophy. Inspired by Yokohama's port-opening culture, it beautifully blends traditional Japanese aesthetics with modern Western design. The art installations adorning the lobby and the Samurai-inspired screen headboards in the guest rooms exude a subtle yet refined elegance, allowing you to feel a sense of vintage charm amidst the contemporary surroundings.

GGuest UserOverall an ok stay. A bit hard to find, very limited English spoken by the staff which led to some confusion (even for the representatives who were assigned to us by English speakers). Felt quite formal and not that warm Room was more or less as expected, and the dinner and breakfast meals were quite elaborate. Felt that breakfast was actually the stronger meal of the two, so wasn’t necessarily worth it to pay extra for dinner. I’d likely skip doing dinner in the future. The room attendant who helped us was very kind and attentive, although we had a bit of language barrier given we don’t speak Japanese. The big disappointment was even though the ryokan is advertised as allowing guests to book one of the larger hot springs on the property for private use for 45 minutes, we weren’t able to do this. We arrived within the designated check in time and were told that it was all booked up for the day. There was no way to book in advance and we were only staying for one night, and they didn’t try to accommodate allowing us to book at all for the next day before checkout. This really hampered the experience overall - we weren’t that interested in using the gender segregated facility (was traveling with my partner who is the opposite gender) as we wouldn’t be able to spend time together, and the tub in our room was quite small. They should amend this policy to allow all guests to book a private hot spring time or not advertise it as part of the room! Feels like we got cheated out of the service and we weren’t offered anything else as an alternative. I would have booked another ryokan had I known this were the case - there are many others in Hakone which are much better value and have nicer / newer private facilities for around the same price. I wouldn’t recommend Yama no Chaya given this was a big part of what we thought would make it a good experience
