FFernando Bohorquez Jarquin 2025.08.23
Es un lugar económico por lo que las instalaciones no esta del todo comodas, pero esta justo frente al mar eso le da muy buena opción. Debido a que esta frente a una calle muy frecuentada es un poco ruidoso.

Very good location, beautiful view and large gardens that are worth exploring, in my opinion the only thing I would add is a gym. From there everything was excellent, we loved it and of course we would stay there again.

We loved the experience, clean, beautiful, romantic cabins.. Quality of the bed and sofas, very good. The attention of girls makes you feel at home, super attentive and gave us recommendations to visit beautiful beaches nearby. I was concerned because I thought they were very retired, but nothing to see, it's very easy to get. We will certainly come back. Thank you for your attention.

Let’s start with the lows. The hostel itself is aggressively barebones. The dorm rooms are tiny, airless, and deeply uncomfortable—less “budget accommodation” and more “temporary storage for humans.” Sleeping in them felt claustrophobic at best and suffocating at worst. The fans also squeaked aggressively all night. I wouldn’t willingly put myself through that again. The bathrooms, while decently laid out, suffered from poor upkeep. The garbage bins were emptied so infrequently that overflowing trash became the norm, which is not the ambiance one hopes for when brushing their teeth. Now, where credit is due: the bathrooms do have hooks and shelves for toiletries—a small detail many hostels somehow still fail to grasp, and it genuinely makes a difference. The rooftop is another bright spot: spacious, relaxed, and a genuinely enjoyable place to spend time. The staff also deserve praise. They put real effort into creating a social atmosphere, organizing events and excursions that were well-attended and made meeting people effortless. Ultimately, this is a full-throttle party hostel. If you value sleep, personal space, or silence, look elsewhere. I won’t be returning, the dorm rooms alone were enough to rule out a return visit. Ginger Banana hostel, which is a short walk from here, looks & feels legitimately luxurious and yet it's cheaper.

On the whole it was a good experience. However I have been to this hotel several times but this time the food and restaurant service really disappointed me. The beach restaurant was not coping and in two separate occasions I had to wait over 1 hour to get served. They delivered the food as it came out of the kitchen and everyone had their meals at different times. On the second occasion, I waited for an hour and a half to get served very expensive lettuce with some fish. Even though the restaurant was almost empty. The staff should be honest and tell people they cannot cope for whatever reason and let customers go somewhere else. The staff just shrugged their shoulders when I raised my request of food. Perhaps this is the time to look for other hotels in the area.

2 minutes walk from the 2 market in the city center. It is in a very convenient location, 5 minutes walk to Zocalo. Taxis come and go frequently on the road in front of the hotel, so it is convenient to go to the airport. It is a little far from the famous restaurants and sights in the city, but the location is very good within 15 minutes walk. There are few rooms with air conditioning. Wi-Fi is very fast. The hotel staff is basically helpful.

GGuest UserEverything was okay except that I booked and paid a room with a large bed and they gave me first a room with two double beds, so I, of course, complained and told me the rooms were sold over, so they gave me one with 2 beds double without extra cost, I told you it was very uncomfortable because we were only my husband and I and we wouldn't sleep in a girl bed because I reserved a big bed for our dedication, total that relocated me to another room standing with only a normal bed that was for nothing big as I reserved, the truth felt me tricked, it was not what I paid and it was not my fault that they sold over the rooms, in addition to I arrived 2 minutes before 3 p.m., the time when check-in started and they told me they were all busy, which I didn't think, in addition, the hotel was half empty

GGeriShaikhHotel wasn't too bad for our first night. They give one small bottle of water and expect clients to get more water from their ”filtered” water dispenser, which was completely empty and didn't get refilled until the following evening when we no longer needed it. The location is not walkable to any stores, cafes, restaurants, pharmacies, etc. You need to get a taxi to go anywhere. Staff were very friendly and helpful and that was a plus. The size of the room was all right. The beds were very comfortable. Good lighting in the room. Good size bathroom. Nice view of city below during night hours. The biggest negative was the AC on our second and last night was leaking onto the bed. Had to keep it off all night and bear the discomfort af a warmer temp as windows don't open. Water pressure was really good; unfortunately, the hot water isn't consistent and would keep fluctuating between hot and cold. I do not think the value was good considering all the negatives. I wouldn't return to this hotel.

GGuest UserWe visited Oaxaca City in September, 2025, and stayed for a week at La Catrina de Alcalá. We had a King room towards the back of the building. The room was large with plenty of room to store all of our items (clothes, toiletries, backpacks, umbrellas, etc.) and was very quiet. The bedding was comfortable and the room was very clean. The staff were all very helpful and kind. The included breakfast was continental, so we ordered off the menu a couple of times. All the food was delicious and fresh. I especially enjoyed the Chicken Mole Tamale. Finally, the location was perfect! The hotel is located on a pedestrian only street in the heart of the city. We were able to walk everywhere! We would definitely recommend this hotel and will return on our next trip to Oaxaca City.

Great
GGuest UserThe overall vibe could be described as monastic luxury. The location and room quality was amazing. But you want to think hard about how important a view/windows are before you book. If you are OK with out them then it's all good. Many rooms look into interior courtyards/corridors and windows are all frosted. Like many places in Mexico, the whole check in and so on is run digitally via WhatsApp, so if you dont get your codes in advance then you could be in trouble. Other than the sparsely (but very high quality) appointed room there are no amenities that i could identify. But they share a list of things to do and do respond to WhatsApp if you have questions.
