I chose this hotel in Coimbra for its affordability, cleanliness, and convenient location, and I was very satisfied. It's particularly close to the intercity bus terminal. The building appeared to be an older one that had been renovated. Given the price, I would definitely book this hotel again if I were to return.

Pontos fortes. -local aprazível para descansar e no meio da natureza. -Serviço  irrepreensível, pessoas muito simpáticas. -Pequeno almoço fabuloso. - Boa Relação preço/qualidade no restaurante.

Very nice staff, the reception and bar. Horrible dinner due to lack of quality and bad lax processing . Very good place.

We really liked the hotel, the location and all its amenities. Just a note regarding breakfast, there is no alternative to milk! In other words, for a lactose intolerant person there was no offer. The same applies to a vegetarian person. For a 4 star hotel this is, in our opinion, a serious flaw.

Great place to stay for a couple of days, beach, plenty of Resturants. Casino all steps away from the front door. The hotel was calm, clean with extremely friendly staff. The breakfast had loads of goodies. Would not hesitate to stay again or tell a friend.

The hotel is well-located and has everything you need for a relaxing vacation. Friendly and attentive staff. Breakfast is plentiful. The facilities are in need of some maintenance. I had to point out that the bathroom wasn't in good condition. Otherwise, everything was fine.

A superb historic property under private management and ownership - actually, in the ownership of the same family for over 400 years altho’ now a member of the Small Luxury Hotels marketing system affiliated with Hilton. The property in its adjoining Gardens are a destination in themselves, along with the nearby (400m) Santa Clara monastery. They may be sufficient for some visitors, but it’s about a 15 minute walk to the centre of Coimbra and it’s main historical area. Arthur Wellesley - aka Viscount Wellington - was a visitor during his Iberian campaign, so you’re in good company.  Staff are superb and obviously hand picked by the owner. The receptionist when I arrived (Evening of Sunday 16 February) was simply the best I’ve ever experienced, Singapore, Bangkok and Tokyo included.  Genuinely fascinating to talk to about the history of the building and some of the previous guests (famous but  ‘passed’ celebrities so no confidence is breached).  Best to stay in the rooms in the main building if possible, if tales of the previous occupant intrigue. Although the spa Is impressive – up to best Thai standards - and I guess the adjoining spa rooms may be equally good. Overall, an absolute gem that far exceeded expectations.

Although a lift was defect and the wind blowed in one of the rooms I reserved by the door to the balcony, the comforts were good and I liked the place.

The location would be excellent if it wasn't a Sunday a discoteca on the street until 4 a.m. with high music, a time I could sleep even with tablets..... Tourism fees were charged and they were not received from them. The purchase indicated that all fees were included. They did not provide us the Wifi password even ....The bed was not big and there was no bedroom from above ....Only the edredon, which, with the air conditioning to work, did not save much stay ...Also there was no bottle of water with tea and coffee in the room, or just water and a boiler ....But bad was even the disco ....Not lets sleep there ...

The hotel has a very young style with a musical theme, excellent location to walk to the center. The room was very small, with various objects hanging on the walls that further reduce the space, next to the bed was hanging a sort of wooden guitar. The bathroom is small but functional, the shower towels are the size of face towels and are very thin making it very difficult to dry yourself. Good general cleanliness. The hotel has a paid parking.

AAnonymous UserFacilities: The hotel clearly had its heyday; the facilities are a bit dated but possess a unique charm. From the room's balcony, you can enjoy beautiful views of the bridge and the riverside. Cleanliness: Spotlessly clean. Location: Superb location, right at a bustling intersection in the heart of the old city. Service: We arrived quite early, and the front desk staff kindly stored our luggage. Upon check-out, they proactively offered advice on the best way to reach the high-speed train station. We had an early high-speed train to Lisbon the next morning, and since the hotel's breakfast service started a bit late, we opted for a packed breakfast. It included one sandwich, a carton of soy milk, a carton of juice, and a banana. Compared to similar packed breakfasts we've had at other hotels, this felt quite basic. Had we known the breakfast timing in advance, we definitely wouldn't have chosen to include it with our booking.

GGuest UserWe stayed two nights in apartment 2.2 - one bedroom with a small office room which has a desk and single bed. Location was great, being right off the main pedestrian strip in the old town area, so very atmospheric and convenient for restaurants. Check-in is at Hotel Oslo, about 4min walk away so you will have to walk with your luggage for a few minutes, including up some stairs. The apartment building also does not have a lift, so you will need to be able to carry your luggage up stairs within the building. I don't think you would be able to call an Uber or taxi to the street in front of the building as it is very narrow so bear this in mind. Some other minor points I noticed about the apartment which you may find helpful: - It directly faces another building on a narrow street, so the apartment doesn't really get natural sunlight - There is a washer but no dryer - it took a whole day for our clothes to dry and the rack sat in the living room - The apartment fittings are starting to feel a bit worn down

GGuest UserThe lady...is a Lady and she was kind attentive generous and I felt completely welcomed...it was as if I was staying at a living relative. Although the room was small the bathroom was ample. The room gad a query nook area by one of the two window areas...the view of the water was calming and simple, I could hear the birds in the shady trees outside my tall romantic window setting. The whole place was spotless and fresh smelling ...the bed comfortable. All looked new. It was near to everything. If I have to want anything it is a disposable shower cap. She allowed me to take her tea-Kettle to my room for my convenience which added to my comfort. Although we did not speak the same language we understood each other. I would love to return again soon. Thanks much 😊

MMatías RubioloSolar Antigo is a must-visit in Coimbra for anyone seeking a top-notch experience. We stayed in a room with a jacuzzi and a stunning view of the city, which we thoroughly enjoyed. It was my wife’s birthday, and the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and celebrated. They even included a small cake with a candle for the in-room breakfast—such a thoughtful touch! The welcome sparkling wine and cake were also a delightful surprise. Their exceptional attention to detail and outstanding customer service truly set them apart. Highly recommended for an unforgettable stay!

GGuest UserThe hotel is cozy and familiy's friendly, the reception desk was friendly and welcoming, Fatima at the reception desk was great. The breakfast is intercontinental buffet and had a variety of options besides great taste, Dinner is A LA carte menu and the chef is exceptional. We didn't use the outdoor pool since it's so cold but the Spa and the indoor pool was pretty nice، the Jacuzzi was out of order. Overall the location and services was pretty much great definitely deserves another visit.
