I discovered this hotel while looking for accommodation on my way down from the Manchester area, intending to visit the Cotswolds. Trip.com offered the best price. At around £50 (approximately 100,000 KRW considering the exchange rate), it featured a spacious bathroom with a tub on the terrace, and the radiator worked perfectly. It was a perfect place to unwind before heading back to Korea.
I saw many overwhelmingly positive reviews from fellow Koreans for this hotel, so I booked it, and it turned out to be an absolutely fantastic stay!
My schedule meant I skipped the Cotswolds and visited Bicester Village instead, but honestly, it's no longer worth the trip. I'd recommend looking for a different outlet. I personally found the Mac Designer Outlet chain to feel more authentic and offer a much better experience.
Hairs were found on the bed, indicating the room wasn't cleaned properly. The staff were very cold and unhelpful. There was no drinking water in the room, and when I went to buy some at the front desk, they refused cash, charging an exorbitant £2.50 per bottle. The bathroom layout was awkward, easy to bump into things, and the toilet flushing was poor. Soundproofing was terrible. It's also not that close to Bicester Village, requiring a walk of over 20 minutes. Walking back at night after shopping, a section of the road had no streetlights, which was quite frightening.
Wonderful hotel, cannot fault anything, reception staff were amazing and very helpful, beds were extremely comfy, food was great. I would highly recommend using this hotel, and I will book a stay there again.
Booked for two nights while visiting Oxford, Woodstock and Blenheim Palace.
The accommodation and location fitted the bill perfectly. Although out of Oxford we had good good routes to all our destinations and the Park and Rides were beneficial.
Accommodation as expected - good standard. Dined there one evening - food good and well presented.
All staff we encountered were: pleasant, friendly and helpful.
Recommended - would book again.
I particularly liked the dormer window in the room. Although the room was small, it was clean and tidy. The elderly gentleman at the front desk was very professional and punctual. Luggage can be stored after check-out, but must be retrieved within a specified time. It's a bit of a distance from Oxford University, so it might be a good option for those who enjoy walking. Public transport is also very convenient.
This is a hotel converted from an old castle prison. It is very innovative. There are two types of rooms. One is a room converted from two cells, and the other is a normal room. The window of the room converted from the cell is a small upper window like in the prison. The normal room I booked has a balcony. It depends on everyone's preference. The room has a coffee machine and a towel heating rod. The shower room is small and the button area is large, but it takes some skills to press it. The first time I pressed it for a long time, it didn't trigger. The air conditioning in my room was slightly insufficient, but the hotel service staff actively solved the problem. The overall service was very warm and thoughtful, sharing town maps and so on, so despite the slight inconvenience, I still like the style and service of this hotel. The breakfast is also good, and the black pudding is awesome. In addition, some rooms have stairs in addition to the elevator. If you have large luggage, you can try to contact the hotel to use the small elevator, as shown in the last picture
Overall, it's pretty good for a service area hotel. They have a breakfast buffet, and there are other restaurants to choose from as well. It's a two-story building with fire doors everywhere, which tend to be noisy when opened and closed.
Comfortable stay.
I had a really good stay at Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford. The room was clean and the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable — definitely one of the best parts of the stay.
There was also a Nespresso coffee machine provided with a good selection of coffee pods, which was a nice touch.
Staff were friendly and helpful overall, although I did have one slightly less welcoming interaction, but it didn’t affect the stay too much.
Only small downside was that there were no robes provided in the room. Other than that, everything was great and I’d happily stay again.
Traveling with a child limited our hotel options in Oxford, so we booked this hotel located 6 km from the city center. You can walk about 6-7 minutes to the 300 bus stop to catch a bus to Oxford University. The hotel's location is a bit remote, so it's best to avoid going out at night. The lobby on the ground floor is a nice place to sit, have a drink, and enjoy some dessert in the evening.
The Indian gentleman and lady at the front desk were not very friendly or honest.
Nestled in the suburbs, the hotel offers a wonderfully peaceful atmosphere, truly feeling like a tranquil escape. We really appreciated having a Chinese-speaking staff member at the front desk, which made us feel incredibly welcome. The bed in our room felt like two twin beds joined together, and it was certainly spacious enough. The sofa in the room can be converted into a sofa bed (just a heads-up: not all rooms have these, so be sure to confirm upon check-in).

Very Good
Just a one night stop over, ready for a University Open Day, with my daughter. Lovely welcome at Reception. The twin room was very comfortable, clean, fresh and airy (we like to open windows, which we could easily). Lovely en-suite with very large walk-in shower. Great over the sink mirror. 2 very wide single beds with extremely comfortable, lightweight duvets. Fridge in room. Accessible sockets for charging up phones etc. Free wifi. Large Tesco next door open until midnight. We didn’t have breakfast at hotel as wanted to eat our own thing in room and get off early so off to Tesco to pick up supplies and keep in fridge. Only disappointment, like many hotels currently, unable to mirror from our iPhones to TV (Samsung here) to watch what we choose (Netflix etc). Wasted a lot of time trying to sort that (much Googling) but unable. Would have given it 5 for amenities if we had been able to do that.
Great location, easy access to major attractions in Oxford. Love the literary theme of its interior and rooms. Service and concierge staff were very helpful, accommodating and friendly. Our graduate twin room was surprisingly spacious and very pretty. Breakfast selections were plentiful and of good standard. Highly recommended if ever in Oxford.
Having stayed at the Holiday Inn Oxford on three separate occasions now, I can wholeheartedly say it is a truly outstanding hotel and has become my firm favourite whenever I visit the area. Each stay has been consistently excellent, exceeding my expectations every time. From the moment you walk in, the check-in process is always smooth, efficient, and handled by genuinely friendly and welcoming staff. They make you feel valued right from the start. The rooms are consistently spotless, comfortable, and well-appointed. The beds are incredibly comfortable, guaranteeing a great night's sleep after a busy day exploring Oxford or working. The bathrooms are modern and clean, and the overall room maintenance is clearly a high priority. I've always found the rooms to be quiet, providing a peaceful environment. What truly sets this Holiday Inn apart, in my experience, is the exceptional level of service across the board. Every staff member I've encountered, from the front desk to housekeeping to the restaurant team, has been professional, attentive, and always willing to help with a smile. They consistently go the extra mile to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. The hotel's facilities are great, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of tasty options to start the day right. The location is also very convenient, offering easy access without the stress of navigating the very centre of Oxford, especially if you are driving. Based on my repeated positive experiences, I cannot recommend the Holiday Inn Oxford highly enough. It offers reliable comfort, fantastic service, and great value. It's clear they take pride in their hotel and their guests' satisfaction. I wouldn't consider staying anywhere else on my future trips to Oxford!
The Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford is a stylish hotel located on the outskirts of Oxford, offering a blend of comfort and convenience. Lucky to have some light decorations to the rooms due to availability. The room is spacious which come equipped with comfortable bed, air conditioning, tea and coffee facilities. Slight pointer is that there is no heat warmer or heater in the room. The hotel features an on-site restaurant and bar, where visitors can enjoy a variety of meals, including a well-regarded breakfast. For relaxation, the property offers excellent leisure facilities, such as an indoor swimming pool, fitness center, sauna, and steam room but you need to make prior appointment before usage. These amenities are especially appreciated by those looking to unwind after exploring the historic city of Oxford. Situated near major road networks, the hotel is ideal for travelers arriving by car, with on-site parking available. However, some guests note that parking might come with an additional charge but come at fixed $6 per day. Should you require breakfast is best to purchase it on the day you checked it as it will cost $15 instead of $18. Overall, the Leonardo Royal Hotel Oxford is a dependable and comfortable choice, offering a modern retreat just a short distance from the vibrant cultural and academic attractions of Oxford.
BBecezsiLovely hotel in a beautiful location! The riverside setting makes for a lovely view! We stayed in a spacious suite and were accommodated with an extra bed with no problem at all. Decor is a little dated and the accommodation could have been a little cleaner however, the staff were wonderful and the breakfast was great!
We would stay here again, thank you for a lovely stay!
Would highly recommend, very friendly and helpful staff. We had the room with castle view, which was lovely. Nespresso machine and extra options for hot drinks was great. Breakfast was excellent, lots of choice and delicious. We will stay here again for sure.
GGuest UserWe have visited Sunbury Hotel a few times now , this time we were disturbed by person or persons at 02.47am and also experienced a lot of noise transmitted from above, both of which were a first for us and certainly surprised us. The cleaning service over the three nights amounted to pulling up the bed covers which is a definite lowering of previous standards. The complimentary bottles of water and snack biscuits were not refreshed at all, and the room itself now has two large areas of damp showing in the corners which should have been attended to and at least kept clean.
The hotel was busy during the weekend but the Tuesday am breakfast was attended service rather than the buffet which was great as the food was freshly prepared and served to us. A warning if you have a pet it's £20 per night now and segregation in the bar area for breakfast which is fine except for the walk through with your serving from the restaurant area before it gets cold.
The grounds are superb and the outside patio are excellent, plenty of car parking. It would be interesting to see if management comment.
The Ramada by Wyndham Oxford is a 20-30 min bus ride away from Oxford central station. It’s a good choice for solo travellers as it’s very good value for money. The room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was new and very clean. The room was very quiet in a quiet part of the hotel. There were plenty of places to eat nearby as it’s just off the M40 junction to Wheatley. There were shops and places to eat to suite every budget and taste. There was a Pizza express restaurant and a large Starbucks. There is a bus stop in 5 min walk where you can get a range of buses to Oxford and Aylesbury. The 400 and x400 take you directly to the Oxford central train station, it’s such a direct route why take a car and pay huge parking fees! Oxford is great for culture and museums so I would recoomebt staying at Ramada. Will stay here again next time I visit its great value. I visited a few exhibitions while in Oxford, the Ramada is also great for pets. Hope you find my post helpful
We went for a family trip and the foods at the restaurant is absolutely worth paying. We had dinner for 5 including 3 kids. Kids meal is great and kids love it. For the stay, we booked a family room and it’s fabulous to make this decision.
