Grand Mercure Awaji Island boasts unparalleled sea views of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and the Seto Inland Sea. Its excellent location, however, makes it best suited for guests traveling by car. Our sea-view room was spacious and comfortable, with floor-to-ceiling windows that made the morning sea sunrise a daily spectacle. Both breakfast and dinner offered a wide variety of dishes; we especially recommend the Awaji Island milk and local onion specialties. However, dining options nearby are limited, meaning you'll likely rely on the hotel's restaurant for dinner. Without a car, finding other dining spots would require a taxi.
The hotel service was attentive, and the front desk staff spoke fluent English, providing helpful guides to local attractions. While the rooftop open-air hot spring bath isn't natural, it was uncrowded, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing with its sea views. On the downside, the facilities are a bit dated, and there's a noticeable lack of family-friendly entertainment options.
Overall, this hotel is ideal for guests seeking serene sea views and a relaxed pace, offering particularly excellent value for money during the off-season.

The waiter at the door was warm and thoughtful. Since there was no crosswalk at the door, every time a guest entered or exited, he carefully observed the traffic on the road for the guest, and only let the guest pass after ensuring safety. Japanese service is indeed outstanding. The only drawback is that all meals in the hotel must be reserved. Even if you are willing to wait, you can't eat. All the restaurants nearby are like this, which is a bit unaccustomed. I could only get some food at the convenience store that nightđ đ

The hotel is located in a somewhat remote area on a mountain, but they offer a shuttle service. We called the hotel from the visitor center, and a car arrived within minutes. Since we had stayed at another onsen hotel the previous night with luggage storage, we asked the driver if he could take us to collect our luggage before checking into Arima Princess Hotel. He readily agreed. The service was excellent. The hotel has indoor red bath (lighter) and silver bath, but unfortunately, there's no open-air bath. They also took us to the station when we left.
Good price with a nice view. View of the bridge during the day is breathtaking. The new wingâs rooms are a lot nicer. Not much service. No one helps you with luggage when you arrive. And staff donât look too helpful or happy. The hotel is near outlet and easy drive to Kobe city centre. Breakfast is good with a lot of bread variety. You need to bring your room towel to public bath. For this price I wouldnât mind staying there again.
The room was clean overall and service was quite good. But my stay at the hotel ended on a low note. On my check-out day I decided to have breakfast at the hotel restaurant on the 2nd floor. The menu included a âContinental Breakfastâ (at 2000 yen), for which I could choose between toast/croissant/danish, different juices, and coffee or tea. I assumed that the above choices are breakfast items with options, and expected a normal âContinental Breakfastâ which usually includes an egg, bacon/sausage/ham, and some potato fries etc. It turns out that this continental breakfast includes *only* 3 pieces of toasted bread (they later gave me 2 additional pieces because the original 3 were too burned), along with juice and coffee, charging me 2000 yen just for these. I felt this is a rip-off even for a hotel breakfast, and misleading.
The hotel is nestled in Meriken Park, offering truly stunning views; the hotel itself is a scenic spot.
The room size and facilities met expectations. I had researched beforehand and booked an East-facing room. I made a mistake when booking and ended up with a non-refundable special offer room, which was slightly smaller. However, the bed faced the balcony, so if you're an early riser, you can actually catch the sunrise from this room.
The only downside is that the hotel might have been open for a while and hasn't been maintained very well. The cleanliness wasn't ideal, especially for Japan. There was a lot of dust on the ceiling directly above the air conditioning vent, which looked a bit messy. I hope the hotel pays more attention to these details.
I had read in guides that it's best to take the shuttle bus or a taxi to the hotel because it's uphill and inconvenient with luggage. However, there's an escalator to the left of the hotel, which is perfectly fine for carrying suitcases. Just be aware that it stops operating after a certain time at night, so keep that in mind when checking in.
Due to a flight delay, we were supposed to arrive at 4 PM, but it got pushed to the evening. We landed quickly, took the airport bus to Sannomiya, and easily found the hotel shuttle pick-up point. We were lucky to catch the 10:30 PM hotel shuttle.
Upon arrival, we also bought some food and drinks at the convenience store on the first floor of the hotel lobby. This is the only convenience store in the vicinity, and it closes at 11 PM.
Overall, the highlight of this hotel is its scenery. You can take your time to fully appreciate the beauty of Kobe Port â it's an experience worth having. The drawback is that it's a bit far from Sannomiya's shopping centers, which can affect your subsequent plans.

First experience the campervan hotel, which feels very fresh. There is a small platform next to the campervan, facing the sea, which is very healing and soothing for the body and mind. The hotel is newer and has a spacious bath. The staff is very happy to receive and friendly and enthusiastic. The food in the restaurant is delicious. Only there are no washrooms in the camper, which is a bit inconvenient to need to use public health facilities, but the sanitation facilities are very tidy. Also, note that the night camp gate will be locked at 10:00. Overall feeling is good, but if you want to experience camping-form activities, here is not a complete experience.

I was very satisfied. There are many affiliated restaurants within walking distance, so you won't have any trouble finding something to eat. The hotel also has a sauna and pool, so you can enjoy yourself even while you're there. This is the perfect hotel for a holiday.
The service was also excellent, and they even included a welcome drink.

I booked this place at the last minute as we wanted to extend our stay in Arima Onsen by one night and most hotels were fully-booked. I searched on *********** but couldn't find any suitable accomodation so thought to try Trip.com. This hotel came up only on this site and I was delighted to find it. At first I was concerned by the lack of reviews, but all the reviews were good and the room looked ideal for a family of four; 2 western beds and 2 tatami beds, with spacious living area and separate bathroom and toilet. It was really great value for money. The size of the room was very generous, and the facilities were great. We made use of the Onsen baths and the table tennis room during our stay. None of the staff spoke english but this wasn't an issue as they were all adept at using google translate. The location is also fine - it is situated between the town and the ropeway, so it is easy walking distance to each, which was very useful since they dont offer any shuttle service. All in all I would reccomend it for a short stay in Arima onsen as it is really good value for money.

A pleasant breeze blew by the sea, the heat was modest, and it was a wonderful trip! The interior design was very cute, there was a welcome drink, and I was able to listen to the record! The only thing I was worried about was that the insects were stuck to the screen door or floating in the pool. I think the problem of insects is inevitable because it is a summer night, but that was a little disappointing. Other than that, it was really great!

Amazing
Wonderful stay. Ideal and central location in Kinosakionsen. Great and authentic food, wonderful staff, and rooms large enough to accommodate us and our luggage. Highly recommend the Ryokan
A perfect site to eat, drink, play golf and shop in Kobe. Itâs close to everything and the views of the Kobe Port are just magnificent. Most important, the hotel is well managed, the rooms are spacious and the breakfast is so richly prepared that you wouldnât be bored even staying there for one week! Will go back.
This hotel is next to the ropeway to herb garden. There is a supermarket , train station and ÂĽ100 shop within the same building. There is a 7-11 just outside (level 1). Parking is available at 8th floor for hotel guest chargeable at ÂĽ1500 per night. Breakfast is fantastic - their curry , omelette and smoothie are their specialty. Highly recommend to stay at this hotel .
A Beautiful hotel with beautiful sea view. The whole building is such an art piece. The staff is nice and the room is fine. The location is a bit difficult to reach if not driving. But the view and the beautiful design by Andou Tadao is worth to come at least once.
Hands down best stay so far during my 15 days in Japan and the service is really immaculate. I've been to Japan on several solo trips and this is easily one of the most memorable hotels. The staff are really nice and the hotel room view is incredible. The room they upgraded me to speaks for itself, beautiful bathroom and really good amenities. Although the hotel is situated off the mainland, there is a portliner rail service and also a complementary shuttle service to two of the main stations in Kobe city area. Really value for money.
We had a wonderful stay at Kobe Meriken Park Oriental Hotel. The harbor view from our room was beautiful, especially in the morning, and the high-floor arrangement made it even better. The room was clean, comfortable, and well maintained. Staff were professional and attentive, and they kindly prepared baby amenities such as a crib and bathtub, which was greatly appreciated. Breakfast was enjoyable with a good variety and a relaxed atmosphere. The location is excellent for walking around the harbor area and enjoying Kobeâs scenery. Overall, a very pleasant and reliable hotel experience that we would gladly recommend.
The hotel is located in a quiet and safe area. The breakfast selection is good and I liked the good coffee and it was a bonus as they provided paper cup so you can consume your coffee in the comfort of your room. Will recommend friends to stay in this nice and clean hotel.
