The hotel's location is excellent, right in front of the Citizen's Plaza tram stop, making it very convenient to get to from Kobe Airport. You can also take the hotel's shuttle bus from downtown Kobe, which runs every 20 minutes and departs from Gate 8 on the first floor of MINT. The room is spacious and even has a small balcony. There are parks, IKEA, and supermarkets nearby, and it's not far from the ocean.

While there's still a gap compared to international five-star hotels in China, and the facilities are indeed showing their age, these are minor drawbacks. The staff are enthusiastic, and the self-check-in, self-service locker for luggage storage, and passcode locks are all very convenient. From 3 PM to 9 PM, simple tea, drinks, and snacks are available for guests in the lobby on the third floor. The view of the harbor is absolutely stunning; the scenery alone warrants five stars! Rooms facing east look directly onto Meriken Park, offering beautiful sea views. It's lovely to sit at the Starbucks downstairs, enjoy the sea breeze, and watch locals walking, exercising, walking their pets, and going on dates – it's incredibly relaxing. The hotel offers a shuttle bus to Sannomiya, which takes about 20 minutes; the timetable is attached below. If you need daily room cleaning, remember to request it at the front desk during check-in or call reception. There's a FamilyMart right at the hotel entrance, which is very convenient.

The rooms are spacious and well-designed. The ocean-view rooms face the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge, offering a stunning view. The Dancong experience was impeccable. However, I must say that the hotel is incredibly far from the subway station, and there's nothing around it. If you're someone with limited physical activity like me, I highly recommend this place. Even a late-night trip to the convenience store feels like a long hike.

Grand Mercure Awaji Island boasts unparalleled sea views of the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge and the Seto Inland Sea. Its excellent location, however, makes it best suited for guests traveling by car. Our sea-view room was spacious and comfortable, with floor-to-ceiling windows that made the morning sea sunrise a daily spectacle. Both breakfast and dinner offered a wide variety of dishes; we especially recommend the Awaji Island milk and local onion specialties. However, dining options nearby are limited, meaning you'll likely rely on the hotel's restaurant for dinner. Without a car, finding other dining spots would require a taxi. The hotel service was attentive, and the front desk staff spoke fluent English, providing helpful guides to local attractions. While the rooftop open-air hot spring bath isn't natural, it was uncrowded, peaceful, and incredibly relaxing with its sea views. On the downside, the facilities are a bit dated, and there's a noticeable lack of family-friendly entertainment options. Overall, this hotel is ideal for guests seeking serene sea views and a relaxed pace, offering particularly excellent value for money during the off-season.

We rented a villa-style house with an open-air bathtub. The room was very spacious and stylishly designed. We had to walk to the hot spring in the main building at night (it was average), but we were given a coupon for the ”Jikkai no Yu” hot spring (in the same resort). This hot spring was very large and beautiful, with complete facilities, and is worth recommending.

An excellent choice for visiting Awaji Island. The rooms are spacious with great views. The hotel's buffet offers a wide selection and is very reasonably priced. What impressed me most was the incredibly friendly and welcoming staff, who were genuinely accommodating and went out of their way to assist. I will definitely stay there again.

Almost a perfect stay. First off, having a 12 PM checkout in Japan is already a huge plus. We arrived around 8 PM the night before, and the front desk staff were still in great spirits. The room was quite spacious for Japanese standards, and the view from the window was absolutely stunning, with the night view being even more captivating than during the day. The only slight downside was the breakfast; for 3800 JPY per person, the selection wasn't very extensive, though the taste was decent enough.

I was very happy with the kind response from the employees. The room is clean and I am satisfied. As for the cooking, I ordered my favorite Shirako on the day and they accommodated me.

Hotel facilities are not very new, but they are all clean and tidy. The dinner was very rich and delicious, with welcome drink and snow bars, very happy! The large bath is small, but overall very satisfied.
