We are a family of 5 adults visiting Melaka for my mom's 96th birthday celebration with her family and friends living n Melaka. We had the family suite - 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. *Reception lobby has an overwhelming smell that is disgusting. *Bathrooms: the tiles in the bathroom are moldy and falling apart with makeshift patchu. Bath towels had a funny smell and had seen better days. We had no choice but to replace the while towels with the blue-striped pool towels. * Kitchen - a skeleton setup with sink, microwave, fridge, kettle and coffee maker. Basic amenities like one would expect in a kitchen such as stovetop, dish washing liquid, kitchen hand towels, crockery and utensils are missing. The microwave is filthy. We have to use the white hand towels that guests would normally use in the bathroom to dry our hands in the kitchen. We had to request room service to clean the filthy microwave, provide plates and utensils for us to eat out take-out food, along with dish washing liquid to wash our dirty dishes. Pictures speak a thousand words. Hotel is connected to a Mall - Shore that is deserted. Foot traffic is at its all time low. Mall is dimly lit ... a HUGE contrast to AEON. I would not recommend this hotel. Sorry.

A Sanctuary for the Creative Traveler. Nestled within the Citywalk, right next to The Shore Hotel and Residence, I stumbled upon this hidden gem – a secret pathway tucked away amidst the concrete jungle. It was not just a feast for the eyes but a wellspring of inspiration, captivating me and sparking creativity. Stepping onto this path felt like instantly entering a vibrant landscape painting. Lush greenery lined both sides, with towering trees forming a natural canopy that gently filtered the intense sunlight, leaving dappled light dancing on the red path below. The air was fresh and the temperature pleasant; even on a scorching summer day, a refreshing coolness permeated the area, uplifting the spirit. The winding red path harmonized beautifully, sketching a poetic route. As I walked along, a clear stream gurgled softly beside me, its gentle flow soothing to the ear. Occasionally, a few fallen leaves drifted with the current, adding to the serene and elegant atmosphere. **Vintage Streetlights Illuminate the Way Back** Along the path, vintage-style streetlights stood quietly. They weren't just guides at night but unique features during the day. Their design exuded a nostalgic charm, imbuing the entire path with a sense of 'warmth' and romance. Imagine when dusk falls and these lights are illuminated, casting a soft glow on the path, interweaving with the dancing shadows of the trees – what a dreamlike spectacle that would be! Though my busy work schedule prevented me from experiencing the night scenery, the daytime ambiance alone was enough to convey its unique allure. Strolling along, with the gentle sound of water and birdsong in my ears and the ever-changing greenery and light before my eyes, my mind and body completely relaxed, and my thoughts broadened. Whether I was brainstorming new stories or seeking creative breakthroughs, this path provided an excellent space for contemplation. It allowed me to momentarily forget the city's hustle and bustle, return to inner peace, and better capture those fleeting sparks of inspiration. **An Urban Gem Not to Be Missed** Recommendation Index: ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ **Recommended for:** City dwellers seeking tranquility, creative travelers, photography enthusiasts, families with children, and couples on a date. **Best Time to Visit:** Early morning or late evening, when the light is soft, and there are fewer people, allowing for a more profound experience of its serene beauty. On the morning of March 4th, after a rain shower, the air was even fresher, and the greenery more vibrant. **Helpful Tips:** * The path is flat, suitable for walking and jogging. * Wear comfortable shoes. * Bring a camera to capture the beautiful scenery. * Keep the environment clean and protect nature. Though I missed the dazzling night view, this daytime path, with its unique tranquility, warmth, and natural beauty, has become an irreplaceable source of inspiration for me. If you, too, long for a haven in the city where your soul can rest and your thoughts can soar, then come and take a stroll here; I believe you'll fall in love with it too. ****** **The Shore Hotel and Residence's breakfast is highly recommended; you can enjoy it until noon.** One of the major highlights of choosing this hotel is its sumptuous breakfast. The restaurant offers a wide array of authentic Malaysian local delicacies, such as Nasi Lemak, various curries, fried noodles, and fried rice, allowing international guests to experience local flavors in one go, and satisfying local diners as well. What's particularly commendable is that breakfast is served until almost noon, giving guests ample time to enjoy a leisurely and fulfilling brunch without rushing. Furthermore, the diverse selection of dishes ensures that even after three consecutive days, your plate can always feature new combinations, preventing any sense of monotony.

This is a guesthouse-style hotel with spacious rooms. Since it's relatively new, everything feels very fresh. There's a gym and swimming pool located in Building 7B. I didn't book breakfast at the hotel, as there are plenty of shops downstairs offering local delicacies. It's also very convenient to get to the beach, and from the higher floors, you can catch a glimpse of the golden ocean. Getting around with Grab is easy, and most attractions are just a 10-20 minute ride away. A 100 MYR deposit is required upon check-in, which can be paid in cash or by credit card. The only downsides are that the hot water for showering runs out quickly after 10 PM, and the sink is a bit small.

Overall, my stay was quite disappointing due to multiple issues with the facilities and management, although there are a few positive aspects worth mentioning. 1. The toilet flushing system is very weak and unable to properly flush waste. There is also no exhaust fan, causing unpleasant odors to linger after use. 2. The shower area lacks proper shelving for toiletries, which is inconvenient, especially for female guests. Although the space is not small, the towel rack is installed above the toilet, which is both unhygienic and impractical. 3. The unit is advertised as a two-bedroom space that can accommodate up to five people, which reasonably creates the expectation of having two bathrooms. However, the upstairs bathroom is locked and used as a storage room. This becomes highly inconvenient, as guests have to wait excessively long to use a single bathroom. 4. The doorbell issue that was reported earlier was never resolved. 5. The air conditioner remote control was initially not working, but a replacement was only provided later at night. 6. Only two out of four elevators were functioning. During checkout time, it became extremely difficult to get an elevator. Once inside, it stopped at almost every floor due to high demand. It took my family and me nearly an hour just to get from the 22nd floor to the car park. There was also no proper ventilation or air conditioning inside the elevator, which made the situation very uncomfortable and almost suffocating. 7. There is only a mirror in the bathroom, which makes it very inconvenient for guests (especially women) to get ready or do makeup. On a positive note, the overall room cleanliness was acceptable, although the towels could be improved. The interior design is visually appealing at first glance. However, the layout is not practical. Watching TV from the sofa is uncomfortable as it is positioned at an awkward angle. To face the TV directly, everyone has to sit in a row on the stairs, which is quite inconvenient. Overall, while the design may initially attract guests, the functionality and basic comfort fall short of expectations.

It’s a spontaneous trip that we booked the room before we check google reviews. Yet we are aware of the different way of check in. Apparently it’s under awanjiwa management of the *air-bnb* style of room which is the same hotel as The pines. First, If there is choice i may direct book frm the pines , we tried once under the shore & the swiss garden same thing yet also unforgettable trip 😅 I would say hotel charge the prices will assure give the best services maybe . We consider lucky that awanjiwa person in charge is nice and responsible. We got some hicups on the check in and got settle to change another room as u can see frm photos the disaster of the first room we got i told the PIC only the bed and the sink is clean others is all dusty 😵💫 We got changed to another better condition rooms also with some stain on the table n cupboard so i had to clean myself before place anything in. Its not that bad tho, but i would say im not an airbnb guest . 😅 and its feel really weird when u stay in hotel but its like so weird u cant park in the same unit and u just dont feel u are away for a trip as the place u check in like ur neighbor home kind of feel .

Booked a room with 2 king beds for a 2 night stay w my family. Pros : 1. Spacious room size 2. Comfy beds 3. Beautiful view (we could see the entire city and our window was facing towards sea) 4. Free Parking 5. 10-15 mins walking distance to the River Cruise 6. No problems with lifts. Just some additional notes for travellers : (If) you don’t want room service to clean your rooms bc you don’t mind reusing your towels, you will not be able to receive the complimentary water bottles. For families with cars, (if) you need to travel back and forth between the hotel and outside, you will always need to stop by the lobby counter to validate your carpark ticket in order to get free parking and it’s only valid for 15 minutes (more than enough time).

This hotel is great, just a bit hard to find. The online name is different from the actual hotel name, that's the only issue. Everything else is excellent! The room is spacious, and there's a swimming pool downstairs with a kids' water play area, which is fantastic!

YYangyangdecaodiThe lobby is impressive, and the breakfast offers a wide variety of choices. The hotel's location is excellent. From the hotel, you can cross the road to Heroes Square (outdoor), walk diagonally across the square, and on your right, you'll see the Sultan's Palace. Slightly to the left is the Santiago Ancient City Gate. After passing through the gate, you can climb the stairs to the St. Paul's Church ruins and enjoy a panoramic view of the city. Then, take the ramp down, passing the Cheng Ho Cultural Museum, to reach the Dutch Square (Red Square), Victoria Fountain, and Christ Church. Dutch Square is situated by the Malacca River, and crossing the busiest bridge leads you to Jonker Street. It's safe to say the hotel is the newest building closest to the old town. However, the service seems to be lacking. The front desk staff are not very efficient; you often see long lines of customers, and when asked for information about the hotel, they only provide one-word answers, appearing unprofessional. There's only one trash can in the guest room, so you have to move it between the room and the bathroom. The bed also slants forward, and when I complained to housekeeping, nothing was done – they completely ignored it, so I had to improvise. Honestly, considering the hotel's facilities and location, the five-star price isn't bad, but factoring in the service, the value for money is just average.

FFaizzul ImanI stayed at PARKROYAL A’Famosa Melaka, Room 0059, from 8/2/2026 to 9/2/2026. The room itself was good, clean, and well equipped with everything we needed. The swimming pool is huge and very family-friendly. The food selection was generally good with a decent variety. However, the major letdown was the electricity issue, which seriously affected our stay. Our room and block experienced a blackout for a few minutes at night. Worse, while we were sleeping, the electricity kept tripping 3–4 times. Each time this happened, the air-conditioning turned off. My children were sleeping and woke up sweating due to the heat. This was very uncomfortable and unacceptable for a hotel of this standard. Other issues: • The prayer mat provided in the room had a bad smell and clearly needed to be washed or replaced. • During breakfast, the putu mayam was served with grated coconut that had turned sour. • During checkout, the lobby was extremely crowded with a large group of people standing around. It felt very congested and uncomfortable, especially with families and children trying to move around. Overall, the hotel has good facilities and strong potential, but the repeated electricity disruptions and poor crowd management during checkout need urgent improvement to ensure guest comfort.

UUmmi TravellerMITC Hotel Melaka offers a comfortable and pleasant stay. The room was clean and well-maintained, although slightly small. It is suitable for solo travellers or short stays. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the location is convenient, especially for those attending events at MITC. Overall, it’s a decent choice for business trips or solo travel in Melaka.

GGuest UserThe hotel overall is great, me and my family had good experience there. The rooms are spacious and nice; however, I do expect a larger space for family suite, but the balcony is large. Complementary parking was given, the car park was a bit doggie to be frank. One of the greatest highlights for us is the kids playground and kids club. It was huge and nice, my kid has awesome time there. Swimming pool is rather small for the size of the hotel though. As for the hotel breakfast buffet, well, it was not to our preference. Too much of western, and the taste was far from delicious. Would suggest to add a bit more local delights eg Malay kuih. Overall a good experience.

GGuest UserView from the 25th floor is beautiful. Be prepared to wait at least 20 minutes for the lifts though. This block seems to serve mainly visitors, and we waited more than 30 minutes for a lift to bring us down as its fully packed during check out time between 11am to 12pm. Ended up walking down the stairs from 25th floor, and we were faster than the lift while lugging along 2 luggages.

AAnonymous UserHotels under big brands generally offer reliable quality, and this one is no exception – the front desk, rooms, and breakfast are all top-notch. It's rare to find a twin room in Malacca with single beds wider than 1.2m, which is incredibly important when traveling with children. The hotel is about a 10-15 minute walk to the Red Square and Jonker Street. While it's a bit of a distance from the main attractions, it's actually nice because you get a glimpse of local life instead of being constantly surrounded by tourist shops. It's very quiet at night, and there's a 7-Eleven just a two or three-minute walk away.
