The room was clean and cosy and front-desk was friendly and responsive. We booked mainly to check out the pool, spa and gym as advertised by the hotel. So it was really disappointing when we found out that these facilities were closed on Xmas day and on other days operated at limited hours when we were there. The pool, sauna, steam room and gym are operated by a separate company from the hotel. That meant operating hours of those facilities are not catered for hotel guests at all. And it also meant sharing the facilities with members of the gym. So if you’re thinking of staying here and using the gym or pool, just bear those things in mind. Breakfast selection was quite limited. Very bare selection of any salads or greens. Quite embarrassing as well to see that clean plates were not available several times when there were less than 20 covers at breakfast. I understand it was the holiday season and the hotel is understaffed. But I’m sure this is not the first Christmas or NYE the hotel has encountered.

We stayed at the midland for a weekend get away. We arrived late are we were still met with nothing but smiles from the staff. The bar has a great selection, additionally giving a great opportunity for a spa day! We were even given complimentary late check out 😁

Overall enjoyed my stay. I initially had a room (705) located at the end next to the staff room but changed to another room because of the constant slamming of the doors and loud staff conversations that I could hear from my room. My room change was dealt with smoothly and I preferred it to the one before. The gym was great to use, though the room is small and many of the cardio machines were squeezed in. The main issue I had was with the inconsistent standards of cleanliness with housekeeping of my rooms; when I checked into the first room, there were toe nail clippers left on the floor that was visibly seen. When my room was cleaned the next day, the floor was half cleaned, bins were emptied and drinks replenished but the toilet was not cleaned. Table and desk area were not cleaned also. Housekeeping in the second room was better; they did everything but just didn’t clean the floor which was annoying. The rooms are well designed with lovely city view. Location is okay - it’s about 20-25min walk from Manchester Piccadilly which I did with my suitcase and was fine. Sainsbury’s literally around the corner and loads of restaurants nearby. I would stay again however it’s ridiculous in my opinion to complain about housekeeping standards as a guest when staff should just know how to properly clean a room.

I really had a quality days and nights in hotel Mercure. The hotel rooms are very clean and comfortable. The staffs were very helpful and breakfast was good. The swimming pool was very useful and clean. I will definitely go again and also recommend.

It was a lovely stay. We booked this hotel specifically for the spa, and loved the big pool, jacuzzi and sauna. Only thing was we didn’t realised you had to book early to get a slot to go to the spa, and it can get crowded in the evening. If you’re as keen as my friend, you could go at 7am and have the place all to yourself. Although we didn’t use it, we walked past the gym right next to the spa and it looked well equipped, smelled really nice and clean too! We ate to our heart’s content at the buffet breakfast. They have the crispiest hashbrowns!

This hotel is located right inside Manchester Airport, about a 10-minute walk to Terminal 2. It's quite a large hotel and always has a lot of guests. The service was so-so, but the cleanliness was acceptable. The room size was quite generous, which is rare in space-constrained England. From the room, you can see the airplane runway and the parking lot. At 10 PM, the sun was still out, and the airport was bustling with activity – it was quite interesting to watch.

My husband and I booked this hotel to stay on the celebration of our daughter’s wedding and we were very impressed with all aspects of it the location was beautiful and all public areas were stunningly dressed to celebrate the festive period food and service in bars and breakfasts a very high standard the room we had was also very nice the only small thing that let it down was cobwebs and the amount of dust in corners and behind the tv apart from that a very pleasant experience Mrs D Langley

room was clean beds and ere comfy, the staff weren’t that cheery. The gym and pool facilities which are included and really good. Would stay again.

The room was spacious, and they had the sofa bed ready as requested, which made our family of three very comfortable. Excellent value for money! It was clean, hygienic, and odorless – really good. The hotel is right next to the train station, just a 3-minute walk? Very convenient for getting anywhere. Breakfast was standard, and the bearded gentleman who seated us was very enthusiastic. I wish I'd caught his name tag, but big thumbs up to him! Luggage storage was also convenient. Oh, and our room was on a higher floor with a great, expansive view!

We had a truly wonderful Christmas Eve stay at The Lowry Hotel. From the moment we arrived, everything felt special. Our room was absolutely beautiful — spacious, stylish, and perfectly prepared for a festive getaway. Breakfast the next morning was delicious, with plenty of choice and great quality throughout. It was the perfect way to start Christmas Day. We genuinely enjoyed every moment of our stay. Thank you to the team at The Lowry for making our Christmas Eve memorable. We can’t wait to return.
