The room was fantastic! Our triple room on the 17th floor offered stunning mountain and water views when opening the window, creating a very tranquil setting. The rooftop boasts both open-air and indoor hot springs โจ๏ธ, available for unlimited free use with your room key card. The water temperature was perfect, and soaking in the springs, sipping tea, and watching the sunset was pure bliss! The buffet breakfast was quite generous. The room was notably spacious, especially for Japan. Complimentary amenities such as toothbrushes, combs, and cotton pads are available for pick-up at the front desk. Rooms receive a light daily service (replacing amenities, emptying trash, but not changing linens), with a full cleaning every two days. Complimentary bottled water is provided, and the bathroom includes a bathtub ๐. The front desk staff provided excellent, warm, and attentive service โ Japanese hospitality is truly outstanding ๐.
This is a newly opened hotel with a strong industrial aesthetic. It's super conveniently located near Beppu JR Station, less than a 5-minute walk away. The hot spring is excellent and not crowded, making for a wonderfully relaxing soak. The room itself is exceptionally spacious and offers distant ocean views. All of this comes at a fantastic price. If I visit Beppu again, I'll definitely stay here. As for breakfast, well, personally, I found it just average.
Hello, everyone!
We recently stayed at this hotel, and the experience was mixed โ there are some nice touches, but also noticeable shortcomings.
**Room:**
The room was spacious but clearly outdated; furniture and interior look worn. The ventilation works, yet it still feels quite stuffy inside. It would be great if the hotel improved air-conditioning or installed mosquito screens: the sea view is beautiful, but opening the window isnโt an option because of too many insects.
**Facilities & Service:**
The only real extras are massage service and a shared onsen. Thereโs no gym, pool, or other activities โ the hotel is designed for quiet relaxation. A shuttle service is available, which is convenient, but if you miss it, getting to the hotel on your own can be quite difficult. During this stay the hotel was quite busy, and it often took a long time to catch the elevator to our floor.
**Dining:**
Breakfast and dinner can be pre-booked; the food was tasty and varied. The bar offers a pleasant atmosphere with a decent drink selection, and in the evening the lobby lounge opens with alcoholic drinks and light snacks โ a nice way to unwind after a day of sightseeing.
**Location:**
The property faces Beppu Bay, yet the seaside feeling is limited โ there are few walking areas nearby, and due to insects itโs hard to enjoy the open air.
**Overall:**
A good option for a calm, onsen-style getaway with decent food and polite staff, but when the hotel is crowded, the lack of facilities and outdated rooms become more noticeable. With some modernization and better infrastructure, this could be an excellent resort.
This hostel is in a building where beppu tower is located. It's clean and comfy ๐
The female dorm room is big. Showers and toilets are clean, with free shampoo conditioner and shower gel provided for guests. There is paid washing machine and dryer to use. And on the 5 floor the guests can use sauna for free.
Only negative point is there are cameras in the female dorm room.

This hotel is perfectly located right in the heart of Beppu's Hells, with attractions literally on its doorstep. All five Hells (Jigoku) are within a 3-5 minute walk, which is incredibly convenient!
While the hotel's exterior is unassuming, its interior is a hidden gem. The Japanese garden in the common areas is beautiful. Our room was spacious with a great view, allowing us to see the steam rising from the Hells. Plus, having a private onsen in the room meant we could soak to our heart's content! We even had the large public bath all to ourselves during our visit.
The Teppanyaki set meal we booked was a good experience, though we wished there was a little more meat.
We specifically requested Japanese-style breakfast when booking, but for some reason, we were given Western-style instead. When we inquired, the staff informed us that it couldn't be changed.
On a very positive note, it was our wedding anniversary trip, and the hotel thoughtfully prepared a small gift and took commemorative photos for us โ a very nice touch! Aside from these minor issues, everything else was fantastic.
The only real downside was the hotel's shuttle service to the station. While they offer it, the last departure is strictly before 11 AM. If you miss it, you have to take a taxi. It feels a bit inconvenient to offer a service with such a limited timeframe. For instance, we visited the Hells in the morning and ended up leaving the hotel after 11 AM, so we had to take a taxi to the JR station. An improvement here would be much appreciated!
Overall, my husband, who was visiting Japan for the first time, said it was an excellent Japanese onsen hotel experience. He gives it a big thumbs up!
This is the best value-for-money onsen hotel I've stayed at in Japan so far. The location is excellent, just a two-minute walk from the station. The minibar in the room comes with two white peach jellies, and they offer complimentary noodles in the evening. After a hot spring bath, you can grab ice cream at night and lactic acid drinks in the morning. The value for money here is truly outstanding!
We stayed in a newly renovated room at Tower. Aside from the slightly out-of-the-way location, it was perfect, but the bus stop right outside was very convenient. The hotel is garden-style, with winding paths leading to secluded spots, and the balconies and private hot springs in the rooms offer unobstructed sea views. Breakfast was served at the adjacent Qinghai Hotel, and the variety and quality of the food were excellent. A special thank you to one of the hotel's staff members from Northeast China; she was incredibly kind and helpful. My friend lost her camera on a highway bus, and she immediately contacted the bus company and successfully retrieved it for us โ we were truly touched.
The hotel is conveniently located, about a 10-minute walk from Beppu Station, just down the alley from Takegawara Onsen. It's surrounded by restaurants, convenience stores, and shopping malls, and is close to the beach and Beppu Tower. Takegawara Onsen offers a sand bath, but I didn't try it again because I'd already tried it in Ibusuki. This is a very traditional Japanese-style hotel, with relatively large tatami rooms. The facilities appear dated, but they are very clean. There are no private showers, so you need to use the communal baths (sitz baths and hot springs). The hotel also has private baths available for reservation and a fee. Daily housekeeping is not included, so you need to leave your trash at the door each day, where it will be collected by staff. Towels and bathrobes are provided for the two days before your stay, and you can pick them up at the front desk if you need more. Since there's no room service, the bed isn't made, so you have to make it yourself. I initially thought it would be a little awkward, but it was surprisingly easy to adapt to. There is a laundry room, which costs 300 yen for unlimited use during your stay, but there are only two washers and dryers, and there's a queue during peak hours. The front desk staff was very friendly and helpful, answering all my questions. Breakfast is a set meal, and the restaurant staff are also very friendly. The meals are different every day during the three-day stay, which is a plus! Beppu is really comfortable and relaxing. I hope to have the opportunity to come again in the future~

Second hotel visited.
The facilities are just a neat ryokan hotel that is a bit old.
1 small bath and 1 larger bath in another building (This is a place where not only guests but also outsiders come to take a bath, free for overnight guests)
There is also an open-air bath.
However, breakfast and dinner are buffet style, and there are many kinds of food and the quality is very, very good. So, I went back to the hotel for the buffet.

TThomas.TThe surroundings are stunning, particularly the terraced rice fields. The meals are not only picture-perfect but also incredibly satisfying! The staff were exceptionally attentive and helpful. However, the hotel's facilities are quite limited, there are no shops nearby, and it truly feels off the beaten path. Make sure to stock up on everything you need before you check in!
GGuest UserIt is far from Yufuin Station and you must take a car to get there. The hotel will provide pick-up and you can call them when you arrive at the station. The room is a bit old, but clean, and comes with a private open-air hot spring. The booking type includes the use of the family hot spring, but it's nothing special. Breakfast and dinner are both very rich, and the staff will come to the room to make the bed during dinner.
Finally, the staff was very friendly and the experience was great ๐
GGuest UserIs a good experience, I liked the Japanese style of it, the location is good, away from the Main Street for around 5mins walking distance. There is a local supermarket near by.
staffs canโt speak other languages but Japanese we used Google translate which worked well. I stayed 2 nights, breakfast and dinner were very good too.

GGuest UserThe town was quiet and uncrowded, and very clean. The Kaiseki dinner was absolutely delicious. While the hotel's facilities aren't the newest, they are impeccably clean. The large communal hot spring bath was never crowded, making for a truly comfortable and relaxing soak. It's a beautiful and very peaceful onsen ryokan.
