❤️ The hotel service was excellent. An elderly gentleman even helped wipe down our suitcases. The room had the AC turned on in advance, and hot water was prepared and kept warm for us.
❤️ Our names were written on the shoe cabinet beforehand, and also on the board by the entrance.
❤️ There are hot springs on the 2nd and 4th floors. The pools are a bit small, but super clean. The 4th floor has an outdoor one.
❤️ The location is about an 8-10 minute walk from Ito Station.
💙 The hotel itself was a bit cold inside, and the facilities weren't very numerous or comprehensive; it's more of an older-style onsen hotel.
🧡 The room had a toilet, which was mini but clean.
🧡 There were plenty of power outlets in the room.
Hotel location is excellent, it’s located on top of Gotemba premium outlet (very close to the hillside section)
The room is clean and spacious, hotel guest can enjoy “木の花の湯” hot spring for free.(And this hot spring is accepted people with tattoos to enter👍🏻)
The breakfast is great too, and I strongly recommended to add breakfast with your booking as there will be no convenience store nearby.
Sadly I cannot be able to see the mountain Fuji during my stay because the weather isn’t good…
I will be back and definitely to stay at least 2 night, hope I will be able to see the mountain Fuji during my next visit🙏🏻
This hotel offers incredible value for money, and I'll definitely choose to stay here again next time I visit Shimoda! The room was clean and tidy, with unbeatable sea views, and the size is quite spacious for Japan. The bathroom was also relatively large and bright. Breakfast was also great value, with a decent variety and local specialties. The hot springs have both indoor and outdoor pools; for a non-specialized onsen hotel, the environment was fantastic. I imagine the outdoor onsen offers sea views during the day.
But the most remarkable aspect was the hotel's service. They were patient and meticulous throughout. I had requested a high floor and not a corner room in advance, and the hotel accommodated both requests, leading to a room with an excellent view. One evening, I spontaneously decided to go out for dinner, only to find the nearest restaurant was a 1km walk uphill. The front desk helped me call a taxi and even reserved a table. The young man with glasses at the front desk patiently assisted with all the arrangements, for which I'm very grateful! Overall, the experience was fantastic, offering exceptional value, and I will certainly be back!
The hotel facilities are quite good; although it's an older hotel, it's clearly been recently renovated. The service was excellent. When we arrived at Izu-Atagawa Station, we hadn't arranged a pick-up with the hotel beforehand, but after a quick call, the front desk immediately sent a driver to get us. He arrived in about ten minutes, which was fantastic! I used the hotel's 11th-floor indoor hot spring and had it practically to myself every time; there was hardly anyone else there. The rooftop hot spring was noticeably more crowded, so I preferred the indoor one. We stayed in the annex, and as previous reviews mentioned, there are a few steps between the two buildings. This was a bit inconvenient for check-in and check-out when carrying luggage, but otherwise, it was fine. There's only one restaurant outside the hotel, but you can also order meals within the hotel, which is quite convenient. The scenery outside the hotel is also very beautiful. Overall, we were satisfied with our stay.
The sea view is unbeatable, and it's a 5-6 minute walk from the station. They offer a shuttle service to the station upon checkout, by appointment. A centipede ran into my room... but they changed my room when I requested it, which was fine. I stayed for three days, and the breakfast was decent. The service was typical Japanese, meaning you couldn't really find any fault with it. The biggest surprise was on the day of checkout: there was a huge typhoon in Izu, all trains were stopped. While we were feeling helpless at the station, a hotel front desk staff member arrived! They told us that because we had previously booked a shuttle, they were taking us to the larger Izu-Kogen station! I was so touched! That's truly Japanese service, solving an urgent problem! Overall, it was really good!
The room is large, with a separate wet and dry toilet and bathroom. The hot spring bath is open-air, and mosquito coils are thoughtfully provided. You can also lie on a lounge chair next to it and watch the stars and listen to the sound of the waves. The hotel's breakfast is delicious and highly recommended. The hotel is very close to the beach, only a three-minute walk away. I recommend taking a walk after a hearty breakfast.
The room was okay, and the ocean view was amazing to look at all day. Atami is a great place to explore at a leisurely pace, and I'm sure staying at this hotel would be even better during the fireworks festival. However, it's a bit of a bummer that the ¥2,000 refund for not having the room cleaned can only be used at the hotel shop. And after I used it up, they asked me to pay the hot spring tax in cash without clearly telling me if that ¥2,000 could have been used to cover it. 🙄
Staff were all friendly and hardworking, very sincere in making the stay comfortable for all guest.
Check-in and out was super easy.
Very thoughtful and generous in room arrangements.
A great view of mt fuji, right from the front doors of the hotel.
The hotel is promoting environmental friendly measures and the water they use are all ionised, which is a plus point.
This is a very comfortable resort and spa hotel. It has a huge footprint and a typical American hotel style. The rooms are comfortable, and the balconies come with private hot spring baths that are kept at a constant temperature 24/7 with flowing hot water. It's a wonderful blend of Japanese onsen culture – meticulous yet incredibly relaxing – allowing you to enjoy a hot spring experience without even leaving your room. The breakfast is just standard for a five-star hotel, nothing as impressive as what you'd find at a Japanese hotel. The hotel is quite far from Shuzenji Station, but thankfully there's a shuttle bus available at platform 8 of the bus terminal.
This hotel is perfectly located right by the sea, offering a fantastic environment. Transportation is also quite convenient, with a shuttle bus running between the hotel and Kawazu Station. The breakfast was just okay. If you plan to have dinner, it's definitely best to book in advance. We didn't make a reservation this time and ended up being turned away by both restaurants because they were full. There was nowhere else to eat nearby, so we had to resort to instant noodles.
