Seoul Diaries 19–26 October 2026 19 October – Off to Seoul Our trip to Seoul was planned around Senthil attending the World Stroke Conference, and we decided to make it a family holiday. Unfortunately, Sami couldn’t join us because of university commitments, so it was just Senthil, Aarya and me. We left home early for Heathrow and boarded our fourteen-and-a-half-hour flight. Thankfully, it was smooth, and we arrived at Incheon Airport around 1.30 pm local time. An hour’s taxi ride took us to our Airbnb near Gangnam. The apartment was comfortable, well equipped and a good base for our stay. 20 October – COEX Mall and Starfield Library After freshening up, we took the metro to COEX Mall to visit the famous Starfield Library. The enormous bookshelves, reaching 13 metres high beneath a glass roof, were quite a sight. I was struck by having such an impressive library right in the middle of a busy shopping centre, with people reading, taking photographs and enjoying the space.★
