The best way to explore Nikko! I use Nikko Pass All area for 4 days, which costs one round trip to Yumoto onsen from the train station. All other trips are a bonus: boat cruise, bus to Hangetsusan, trains to Kinugawa onsen, free day visit to onsen in Kotoku Asteria hotel and even local trains from Asakusa to Tobu Nikko station. Great! Higher recommend.★

This is my first time using the Tokyo wide pass (3 days) as I am more used to using the National JR pass which I will buy for my japan trip. The redemption of the pass as done at Tokyo Station. The ticketing staff was polite and explain to me how to use the pass and the limitation of it. They also help me to book the seat for the shinkansen trip to karuizawa. This time round I use my pass to visit 2 places. Which was karuizawa and Hitachi Seaside park. Hitachi Seaside park was a long time wish to visit as I like to see the flower bed over there and experience the nice scenery which it provided. Karuizawa was fun too but would recommend a stay or 2 over there to fully experience it. Overall the pass is easy to use and I would recommend it if u intend to visit Tokyo or other places which the pass can cover.★

The East Japan 10-Day Pass covers a wide area. From Tokyo to Aomori, the Shinkansen takes three to four hours, a long distance. Then, I traveled through Sendai, Matsushima, Fukushima, Omiya, Karuizawa, and Kawagoe Ichiban-gai. From Tokyo to the airport, it's very cost-effective. The JR buses in Aomori provide good connections between attractions, so I basically didn't need to buy additional bus tickets during my trip. Recommended.
