Things to do in Seoul

Seoul, the capital of South Korea, pulses with energy—day and night. Nestled along the Han River and surrounded by mountains, Seoul has served as the cultural and political heart of Korea for over 600 years. Today, its skyline is dotted with gleaming skyscrapers, royal palaces, and hillside temples—all coexisting in a uniquely Korean rhythm. From the royal grandeur of Gyeongbokgung to the trendsetting streets of Hongdae, Seoul attractions continue to draw global attention and reward visitors with fresh discoveries each season. Winters can be icy, while cherry blossoms and crisp air make spring and autumn perfect for exploring—Seoul weather plays a big part in setting the scene.

Everything was great! We really enjoyed our trip to the Garden of Morning Calm and Nami Island. We had plenty of time to explore these attractions. Everything was very well organized. Thank you to our guide, Dominic.

Our tour guide was Yoon from Seoul City Tour and she was very funny. It's very apparent that she's a veteran as a tour guide, with great story telling skills. The information she gave was very interesting and told in an amusing manner. The tour itself was mostly interesting, especially the first part, Imjingak, 3rd Tunnel, and Dora Observatory. However, our last stop was the Reunification Village which was more of a short (sanitary) pitstop before heading back to Seoul, where they try to sell as much merch as they can to us tourists. We were lucky with the weather that we could still see a bit of North Korea at the observatory but it's a pity that the JSA tours are suspended indefinitely. I would have liked to visit the blue building from the south side this time. We had enough time at all the stops and I didn't feel rushed (which I read about with other tours). The one thing I didn't like was that our tour guide had to beg for good reviews.

We had a great time on our DMZ tour thanks to Emily! She was passionate, friendly, and always willing to answer our questions about North Korea. She made the experience both fun and informative. Highly recommend!
Reviews: DMZ Tour with Optional Gondola and Suspension Bridge

We received a WhatsApp message a day before the trip. We first waited in Myeongdong, then were transported to City Hall to board the coach with other participants. There we met our tour guide, Jacky – the storyteller. He speaks perfect English and clearly enjoys his job, sharing the history of North and South Korea. He also gave very clear instructions about ID checks and the places where photography is not allowed. We selected the experience that included a talk with a former North Korean defector, the Third Tunnel (where at the end you are about 170m away from North Korea), the DMZ, the Bridge of Freedom, and Dora Observatory, where you can view North Korea through telescopes. You can also purchase additional attractions, such as the suspension bridge. The tour started at 7:10am and finished at 3:10pm. It was very informative, and Jacky is an excellent tour guide. Definitely recommend!

I booked a large tour (for a reason), but ended up joining a small group; thankfully, our guide, Ms. Jin, was kind, spoke fluent Chinese, was funny, and provided excellent service. At the end of the tour, she specially escorted me to the hotel entrance and also took the other guests to their desired destinations. Thumbs up!
