Brilliant stay, room upgraded and breakfast was included which I didn’t realise.  Helpful staff, lovely clean hotel.  Bus stop 5 minutes walk away, buses are regular to the city centre (approx 15 minutes away).

1) I love Old Bank! I stayed there for a week. 2) I loved it so much that I extended my stay at the hotel reception for another day, only to find it was significantly more expensive than the price I booked through Ctrip. It seems Ctrip is still the best choice for booking overseas hotels. 3) I hope Ctrip can improve the interactive review experience for customers. Actually, before I booked this hotel, I saw a comment below from a guest who left their luggage at the hotel, but didn't open it and went straight to the airport to check it in. Upon returning to China, they discovered their valuables were missing from their luggage. They assumed it must have been stolen while they were checking it in at the hotel. I really wanted to reply to that comment, but unfortunately, I can't. It's highly likely that the guest's luggage was stolen at the airport. I don't know if their flight back to China has a connecting flight; if so, the chances are even higher. This is far more likely than the hotel staff opening your checked luggage and taking your belongings. You might have been more effective if you contacted the airline and the airport immediately. I've experienced this myself. Overall, I think the chances of this happening at Old Bank are very low.

Hotel was perfect for easy access to London.  Excellent value, great food - we ate in the hotel’s restaurant for dinner and the next morning the included breakfast was delicious and above everything else the staff and service provided were second to none.  Incredible !!

Plenty of parking available, but if there's a home game for Oxford United in the evening, parking can be a hassle since the stadium is right next door. Breakfast includes homemade waffles and all the usual options, primarily a full English breakfast, and the coffee is excellent. The room feels cramped with a sofa bed. It's about a 15-minute drive to Oxford University or the shopping center, and Bicester Village is around 30 minutes away.

Lovely hotel in Banbury town with lots of original period features, very comfortable and close to many restaurant options. Also a great base to explore the Cotswolds. The entrance to the car park is extremely narrow so be careful when entering and leaving!

AAlison’s Silk Road Travels 2025.12.23
The Ramada by Wyndham Oxford is a 20-30 min bus ride away from Oxford central station. It’s a good choice for solo travellers as it’s very good value for money. The room was very spacious and clean. The bathroom was new and very clean. The room was very quiet in a quiet part of the hotel. There were plenty of places to eat nearby as it’s just off the M40 junction to Wheatley. There were shops and places to eat to suite every budget and taste. There was a Pizza express restaurant and a large Starbucks. There is a bus stop in 5 min walk where you can get a range of buses to Oxford and Aylesbury. The 400 and x400 take you directly to the Oxford central train station, it’s such a direct route why take a car and pay huge parking fees! Oxford is great for culture and museums so I would recoomebt staying at Ramada. Will stay here again next time I visit its great value. I visited a few exhibitions while in Oxford, the Ramada is also great for pets. Hope you find my post helpful

Myself and 2 young children stayed for one night whilst visiting friends nearby. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. Reception team especially kind to my boys, and giving them activity packs was a nice touch. We visited the pool, which was clean. Whilst not big, it was empty so didn’t have to worry about my boys bothering anyone. Clean changing rooms. We ordered dinner up to the room and must say the children’s menu cost was really reasonable for really well portioned food. Rooms were lovely and clean. Great that the chrome cast actually worked in the room unlike some other hotels. Breakfast had a great spread for all tastes. Only downside is having to pay for parking. On the whole, great hotel and staff and would stay again.

What a beautiful hotel. The hotel was full of character which we adored. The rooms were a delight, lovely decor and exceptionally clean. We hadn’t booked for dinner but the manager was very accommodating and got us in the restaurant. The evening meal was delicious and the breakfast included in our stay was also delicious. We would definitely return. A much needed child free night! Thank you

Enjoyable stay at this good hotel, which had a clean room and very friendly staff. Good location away from the rush and noise - about a 20 minute walk from the city centre, or a 5 minute bus ride. Hotel parking for £10/day is good value compared to local car parks and meters.

LLilit AdamianIt is truly a fairy-tale hotel — the rooms feel as if they come straight out of a classic English story. Everything is neat, clean, and thoughtfully designed, making the stay very comfortable. The location is excellent, perfect for exploring Oxford on foot. The lobby area is especially beautiful — elegant, cozy, and welcoming, setting the tone from the moment you arrive. Overall, the experience was extremely pleasant. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking to experience the true charm and atmosphere of Oxford.

GGuest UserThe rooms are spacious, well serviced, clean with great views (depending on where you are located of course) I loved the balcony space ,table and 2 wicker chairs and was overlooking the golf course with midday to evening sunshine - perfect. Breakfast had great choices and was kept continually stocked up. Staff were helpful and efficient. Check in was smooth. The South African Handyman (whose name I didn't get) deserves a special mention for being great at his job and very personable. I had a lava shell massage in the Spa - wonderful - again didn't get the person's name. Maybe name badges or encourage staff to introduce themselves might be a good idea It's a great location. 30 mins walk to town centre - good footpath, easy drive. Definitely recommend. Had a great stay. Was a solo traveller and felt very safe.

BBecezsiLovely hotel in a beautiful location! The riverside setting makes for a lovely view! We stayed in a spacious suite and were accommodated with an extra bed with no problem at all. Decor is a little dated and the accommodation could have been a little cleaner however, the staff were wonderful and the breakfast was great! We would stay here again, thank you for a lovely stay!

GGuest UserWe have visited Sunbury Hotel a few times now , this time we were disturbed by person or persons at 02.47am and also experienced a lot of noise transmitted from above, both of which were a first for us and certainly surprised us. The cleaning service over the three nights amounted to pulling up the bed covers which is a definite lowering of previous standards. The complimentary bottles of water and snack biscuits were not refreshed at all, and the room itself now has two large areas of damp showing in the corners which should have been attended to and at least kept clean. The hotel was busy during the weekend but the Tuesday am breakfast was attended service rather than the buffet which was great as the food was freshly prepared and served to us. A warning if you have a pet it's £20 per night now and segregation in the bar area for breakfast which is fine except for the walk through with your serving from the restaurant area before it gets cold. The grounds are superb and the outside patio are excellent, plenty of car parking. It would be interesting to see if management comment.

BBee SabThe hotel was better than I expected. I booked it 30 min before arriving. I was early but was able to check in earlier than stated. I requested a double room ( solo traveller) and was give a spacious, clean room with plenty of natural light. Although basic and in need of modernisation I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. It was also great value for money. Location was perfect. Just off a busy road so ideal as a mid stop from motorway towards Oxfordshire/Cotswolds etc. I had their set lunch menu which was delicious. It was a beautiful sunny afternoon so ate in their lovely courtyard garden. It was beautiful. I had no objection from staff for eating outside instead of their restaurant. In fact all the staff were pleasant and helpful. I took a walk around the area. It was safe and had wonderful views. Breakfast was great. Cooked full English ,pastries, fruit, juices etc.. Definitely worth staying. It has charm and surrounded by fields and a good countryside vibe.
