All of the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly during my stay which added to the experience. The hotel is truly lovely and the setting is beautiful. The rooms are well appointed and the views from the rooms and bar were amazing but it’s the high level of customer service that makes me want to return and recommend this hotel as a place to stay in Wakefield.

Location is fantastic and staff were so accommodating. Rooms were clean, but TV channels very limited due to signal issue and maintenance issues with toilet not flushing properly and sink not drinking properly. Also mold on tiles. With that and bottled water not being provided as i had a standard room. Issues are a bit surprising given its rated 4 star hotel. But thats policy issues not service provision from staff and cleaners.

Fabulous location so close to the train station and lots of shops, great coffee shops, places to eat and drink. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly and food and rinks in hotel reasonably priced and tasted lovely.

Have stayed several times when visiting family. Was disappointed this time not to have a fridge I had assumed all rooms had them and due to me booking later than normal I'd paid a higher rate than usual but got a shabbier room.I think they had changed the room I had booked as I'd booked a standard double but opened door up to a small room with a double and single bed set up. I didnt want my towels changing or room servicing but i witnessed reception staff constantly telling people they couldn't have there rooms serviced as they hadn't asked the day before and if you dont ask they dont go in to even change cups or empty bins. It hasn't put me off staying again.

Great location,very quiet peaceful area beautiful room and very clean I lived it . But my stay would have been better if everything had gone smoothly I Just had a problem with the hotel asking for a deposit and not accepting cash for it , I do understand policies are different but after a 12hour flight plus 3 hour train ride all I needed was to get my room and rest but I had to sit for over 20 plus minutes trying to figure out what to do with my situation.I suggest they should be more accommodating and attentive to different situations and customers circumstances rather than just saying we don’t accept this and not willing to find a solution to help. Later on after about 30 minutes or so a very nice friendly manager came to my rescue and found a solution .which could have been done in the first place than having a customer wait for long because someone else is not willing to budge and understand a situation and find a solution.

The room is a normal-sized one, equipped with 2 British twin bed (Width: 130~140cm), and it was prepared in an acceptable condition. Air-conditioner is available, but you may find that it need to be turned on for 2~3 times a day, as the system had been set in an economic mode by the hotel. The breakfast is a typically British one, whilst baked mushroom is not provided. Nevertheless, the breakfast tastes good, and you could serve yourself with chocolate croissants, cheese, hot tomato mush, vegetarian-friendly sausages, honey, tinned peaches and coconut yoghurt. Toothpastes and toothbrushes could be ordered with a fee (￡2), thereby you'd better rake your own's. The location is reasonable, since the hotel adjoins the John Lewis shopping mall, and there's only 10-min walk way between the hotel and Leeds coach station. Meanwhile, you may walk to the Victoria and Trinity shopping centres in 15~20 minutes from the hotel, though it might be a bit inconvenient to travel to the nearby downtown by bus, given the lack of bus stops next to the gate of this hotel. Overall, it's a foolproof option for someone who anticipate a lodging experience surpassing the average level there.

I made the reservation at 12-07 arriving at about 3-15 - 3-30 and had requested an extra blanket but was told this was not possible because I had made the booking late and reception did not have any!! These are woodland cabins and I should have thought this would have been a common request and extra blankets readily available. The cabin was heated by a movable electric heater that took hours to warm the cabin. The doors closed with difficulty possibly because of repeated painting and there was paint over the metal handles. The outer door did not close from teh inside. There was no where to sit in the cabin and no free surface to set things as the only suitable surface, a desk, had a free standing TV on it. There was a wardrobe but it smelt fusty. The food was good but the service was slow because the restaurant seemed understaffed with teh barman helping as a waiter. The setting is beautiful and the staff are very pleasant. There is ample tea and coffee in teh room and a kettle.

I was very pleasantly surprised by both the condition and the facilities at the hotel. Being in a service area, I expected a much poorer place, but it was top notch. The WiFi was fast, both for downloads and uploads (the latter being important for my work). Everywhere was spotless, and the air con worked perfectly (great in the very hot weather). The think that probably impressed me just was the fact that parking was free. That’s pretty rare in a service area these days. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the room was comfortable, and everything worked well. I couldn’t have asked for better and, if I’m in the area again working, it will be top of my list for a place to lay my head.

It was a great place to visit, I enjoyed it so much. As the name was shown on the Television when u get in. Awesomeeeeeeee.. I would luv to go there again it was truly an amazing experience.

This was the best value-for-money hotel during my trip to the UK. The room was quite spacious for British standards, clean and tidy, and serviced daily. The facilities were excellent, and it's very close to the train station, just a 5-minute walk. If you're planning to visit the towns around Yorkshire, I highly recommend staying here; it's much cheaper than touristy cities like York, and taking the train is super convenient. There's a shopping mall right opposite the hotel, and all the attractions are within walking distance.
