It is recommended to take the bus two stops from the train station. The bus stop is opposite and the bus to Akiyoshidai is also nearby. This price is very cost-effective to experience one night and two meals.
I visited Shin-Yamaguchi after a few days in Fukuoka. The weather was still cold, and it rained a little. From the station, just cross the street, and you’ll arrive at the hotel. It’s about a three-minute walk if you have luggage. Next to the hotel, there’s a 7-Eleven and many izakayas.
The manager greeted me warmly, and the staff were extremely friendly. They would greet guests as they walked in, making me feel very welcome. Welcome drinks and coffee are available until midnight—I loved their lemon water! You can also use the library/cafeteria for work or reading, which is quite convenient.
Amenities are placed on the first floor next to the elevator. Breakfast tickets are available, with multiple time slots to choose from. The room size is big for the price. The bathroom is compact, but I had no issues enjoying a bath. The only inconvenience was the lack of a remote control to adjust the air-conditioner’s wind direction.
There are two washing machines and two dryers on the fourth floor, both of which can be connected via an app. If you don’t have coins, you can pay through the app with a credit card, and it will show a timer for when your laundry is done. The washing machine is easy to use, but the dryer took a bit long. Ice is also available on this floor.
There are no complimentary bottled waters in the room, so I often went down to the first floor for lemon water and coffee.
Breakfast was more abundant than I expected. Since this is a chain hotel, I didn’t expect much, but I was pleasantly surprised by the selection. The menu seemed to change daily, and I really enjoyed having breakfast here. Definitely worth the price. If I visit Yamaguchi again, I would definitely book this hotel!
The location, adjacent to Shimonoseki Station, was excellent! There was also an affiliated parking lot, where we parked for 600 yen per night.
The amenities were excellent, and the shampoo, body soap, lotion, and other amenities provided were all of high quality. My husband said that even the razors were of the same quality as those sold commercially. Breakfast wasn't a buffet, but a set meal like the one pictured. I was also happy to have a large public bath. And, in addition to the laundry, I was very grateful that there was an ice maker, especially during this summer season. I was also surprised that you could check the occupancy of the public bath and laundry on the in-room TV! For this quality, a two-day, one-night stay for two people with breakfast cost less than 100,000 yen, even with the trip.com status discount, it was excellent value for money and we were extremely satisfied!
Smile Hotel Shimonoseki is right next to the JR station. Walk to the right and follow the station for two minutes. The JR station building is also the Daimaru Shopping Center. From the basement to the fourth floor are shops, restaurants and supermarkets. The bus station is right in front of the hotel. Buses 1 to 4 go to Karato Market. The seafood restaurants in Karato Market sell cheap salmon sashimi. Shimonoseki is a historic place and worth a visit.
This hotel has a great location. From the rooms, lobby, and restaurant, you can see the ocean, Tsunoshima Island, and Tsunoshima Bridge, and the views are amazing. We were also able to take a walk on the beach right in front of the hotel. We were very satisfied with the delicious buffet, which had a wide variety of options for both dinner and breakfast.
The large public bath was amazing, with an open-air bath where you could watch the sunset.
In the evening, we were taken on a night tour of Tsunoshima Island in a minibus. (Free of charge)
Next time, we would like to go swimming in the sea in the summer.
The air conditioning in the room smelled terrible...it took a while for the smell to dissipate. The breakfast and the location were very good. Parking was limited. There were special packages available nearby for 1300 yen per night. The Shimonoseki Dream Tower is nearby, offering sunset and night views.
4/20-22 Two-day hot spring hotel ~ Shankou County, Shankou County, Shankou City, Xiaoyan Xijingju, each room has an invincible sea view, there are also many rest areas in the public area where you can sit in a daze and drink coffee and tea, there are also massage chairs, smoking rooms, watching movies, playing switch, billiards. There are two spa pools, one open-air one rocky.
Dinner is not bad, that is, the room does not have a bathroom, but there is a toilet! But if you dare not go to the big bath, you can pay to go to the private bath to take a bath.
The sunset is beautiful!
Although the hotel is in a remote location, it seems that all the rooms are facing the seaside. In addition, the rooms have large glass windows, so you can easily see the sea view. The hotel staff are friendly and provide free ramen in the evening, which tastes pretty good. There are also hot spring facilities. Recommended to go.
This is not the Hotel in the photo added. The hotel is a reasonable Japanese style business hotel. The staff were very kind and friendly and tried to help us with the booking problem cause by Trip.com. The booking agency (Trip.com) had booked us as 6 guests and charged us accordingly. We were 4 adults and one child and were overcharged by Trip.com by 1/3 of the price (about 10,000 yen). The hotel staff were helpful but they couldn't do anything as this was a mistake by the agents not the hotel. I will be contacting Trip.com to ask for a refund of the amount they charged us in error.

GGuest UserThis place was clean and neat and the meals were delicious. The staff was very kind and attentive. The bathroom was nice, the lobby was nice. The bed was a little stiff for American tastes but more comfortable than most here in Japan. This place had its own chic style that I appreciated. They went out of their way to accommodate my dietary needs.

GGuest UserService was really first rate. Despite our not speaking Japanese, the staff were always patient and helpful. They guided us in adapting to the Ryokan customs and provided very personalized service without being intrusive. The gardens and facilities are well maintained and create a serene experience.
GGuest UserThe hotel is clean and tidy, there is a hot spring next door, and there are discounts for the guest hot springs. I am very satisfied. I especially want to thank the hotel. I booked the wrong date and couldn't stay. The hotel fully cooperates with Ctrip to help me with the refund and change it to the order of the day. It is very user-friendly. Thank you. Have the opportunity to live again next time. The foot soup at the nearby JR station 🚉 is very awkward. I am very satisfied with the foot while watching the train!
