Hot Springs Hotels in Oita Prefecture, Japan

The hotel's location is fantastic, making it very convenient for both transportation and shopping. The express bus terminal is also nearby. To reach the front desk, simply exit Oita ZR Station North Exit, turn right, go through a small door, and take the elevator up to the 8th floor. Check-in is available from 2 PM. Our room was quite spacious, located at the end of the hallway and featuring large windows on two walls. Unfortunately, they were sealed shut, preventing ventilation, but the air conditioning worked perfectly. The entire hotel was very clean. Despite our three-day stay, the staff promptly replaced our yukata and towels, provided bottled water, and offered warm, attentive service throughout. Breakfast was both plentiful and exquisitely presented, featuring beautiful seasonal Japanese bento boxes. Vending machines and ice makers are conveniently located on floors such as 11 and 14. Across from the front desk, complimentary toiletries and skincare products are available for guests to take as needed. The onsen was spotless and well-maintained, with excellent service. We absolutely loved the convenience of being able to dine directly after our bath. Soaking in the top-floor bath while enjoying the panoramic city views was incredibly relaxing.

I've stayed here before, and this time I brought a friend and booked a larger room. It's a historic inn, but the building and decor don't feel old at all. The Japanese-style room has a really nice vibe, and the smell of the tatami mats is so soothing. The room itself is incredibly spacious; I honestly think three or four people could comfortably stay in that one large tatami room. On the top floor, there's a hot spring with one indoor bath, a small outdoor bath, and a small sauna, all using natural hot spring water. The breakfast selection isn't huge, but all the dishes are local specialties or popular items from Oita Prefecture, so you'll definitely eat well and feel full. The downstairs parking used to be free, but now it costs 700 yen per night.

Very comfortable hotel. They have provide welcome drink for all hotel guests at certain time. I just don’t understand why the receptionist refuse to provide me water bottle after check out, although I have early check out, is that means if I request before check out then proceed check out? Breakfast selection is many but same menu every day.

This was the first time my friends and I visited Beppu, and out of all the places I've stayed in Japan, this accommodation was by far the best for our group of four. It features an open-air onsen on the rooftop and a comfortable lounge on the first floor. Right in front of the hotel, there's a beach perfect for morning strolls. What truly surprised me was finding a Don Quijote Beppu store right next door! Its proximity to the bus terminal (a 10-minute walk) made it incredibly convenient for a day trip to Yufuin. There's a Seven-Eleven nearby, a Lawson near the terminal, and even a local supermarket on the basement floor of the Lawson building, making it easy to grab bento boxes. Plus, there are plenty of restaurants in the vicinity, making it a very accessible location. Having staff who could speak Korean was especially helpful for getting information. But what we were most grateful for was an incident with the onsen. We were about to use it, but someone had tampered with the temperature settings after a staff member had set it, making the water incredibly hot and almost unusable. Late at night, a Korean-speaking staff member and the manager endured the scorching water to fix the issue for us, allowing us to fully relax and enjoy our last night. I had a great time at Kannawaen with my family recently! We booked 2 rooms at Superior Japanese Western Room With Open Air Bath, with breakfast option. Parking was easy and spacious, everyone at the hotel was very kind and professional, room was very nice, clean, warm with nice views. I don't have much complaints except for check-out was done through a machinery method and the hotel only had one machine at the check-out area. FYI they also had employees who could speak English, which was great for forigners!

Sekiya Resort is a masterclass in details. A gem for any archirecture enthusiasts- brutalist architecture is softened by thoughtful artistic touches, like the sculptures found at every lift landing. Upon arrival, the reception greets you with soaring glass walls that frame the entirety of Beppu below. My stay was made even more special by a high-floor corner room—the sea and city views were simply magnificent. There is nothing quite like the luxury of a private in-room onsen where you can soak and take in the sprawling city vistas in total serenity. Shuttle bus service is avaliable with advance reservation. The dinner and breakfast were an absolute delight. Good quality, well thought out menu deserves a special mention here. Highly recommended.

The Japanese-style tatami room was very comfortable. Having dinner included was convenient, and the food was decent. Breakfast was standard. The outdoor hot spring had a nice view, and you could watch the sunrise in the morning.

## Environment: The location is very convenient, just a few minutes' walk from Beppu Station. There's a Lawson nearby and plenty of restaurants. You can walk to the beach in about 10 minutes. On the 3rd floor, there's a free hot spring. If you want to use it, you can pick up a yukata and belt from the toiletries area on the first floor. It's on a lower level, and I didn't see it at first, so I had to come back down to get it. There's a good selection of toiletries, including disposable makeup remover and facial cleanser. ## Cleanliness: The room's cleanliness was decent. The facilities were a bit old but still clean. The hot spring only had two hot pools, one cold pool, and a sauna. There was also an outdoor pool just big enough for one person. You just take off your clothes, rinse off, and then soak. However, when I was soaking, I noticed a lot of what looked like exfoliated dirt floating in the pool. The water circulation didn't seem to be very timely, so I only soaked for a short while and then left. ## Facilities: There's a washing machine and dryer, which I think cost 300 yen per use. The room has a refrigerator, but it doesn't seem to have a microwave; that's probably in a common area. It's quite quiet. ## Service: The service was very friendly. Opposite the restroom on the first floor, there's a self-service luggage storage area where you can set your own password and retrieve your belongings, which is very convenient.

The service was incredibly attentive. Since it's in a new building, the facilities are also brand new. The view is unbeatable, and I'll definitely stay here again. Just a heads-up: after September 1, 2025, any additional towels or bottled water beyond what's provided in the room will incur an extra charge.

Very good, excellent service, I lost my wallet and they found it for me. The bath was very comfortable, but it was a pity that private baths could not be booked. The public bath was very beautiful and the environment was quite good.
