"As this was my first trip to Amami Oshima, the first thing I did was check the location of the hotel, but I was caught in a heavy rain. Even though I was before check-in, I wanted to take shelter from the rain, so I called out to the lady at the front desk, who was very kind to me and helped me out, and it also made things much easier for me afterwards, so I had a great trip. Thank you, and I would definitely use your services again if I come to Amami. Thank you very much."

"I stayed for 2 nights at Amami Oshima Stay for the first time. First of all, the location is great. The sea seen from the garden is healed, but the family enjoyed a walk to the Ayamu Cape from the early morning. The surroundings are basically natural, so it is very quiet, and on the first day I enjoyed a business trip BBQ on the balcony, and on the second day I cooked myself with the ingredients I brought in. There were basic things such as tableware and cooking utensils, and there was no problem because there was a minimum seasoning. At night, I asked the guide to pay an additional fee to participate in the night tour to see the Amamino Crow Rabbit. The room is also 2 stories large, and I think it will be pleased with families with small children. It is recommended for those who want to relax in such an environment, where there are few buildings around, few people meet, and surrounded by nature. Also, I will take care of you when you go to Amami Oshima. Thank you!"

"I book this villa for its outdoor jacuzzi, but turns out that the jacuzzi does not work!! I contacted the hotel email and received no reply for my 2-night stay. The shower hose on the jacuzzi tub got only the shower head without the tube, and so the "jacuzzi" renders to a big bath tub, which of course makes a difference to having a real jacuzzi. The location is also quite remote. The hotel is situated inbetween pieces of land where the locals pay tribute to their ancestors (you get what I am referring to). Personally I am fine with that, but nonetheless want to point out for prospective guests to take note. I have rented a car to get to the hotel on its GPS. I am not sure if its remoteness makes the car unable to arrive at the hotel on its GPS resulting in me going back to the car rental seeking for help. If it is not for a local staff there to take me to the hotel, I probably won't be able to arrive at the hotel relying on GPS (note that the car's GPS is fine getting to other places on Amami Island, just unable to locate the hotel). Apart from the above, the hotel is as described per her other facilities (except of course the jacuzzi). It is clean too. Still, I would not book it again."

"If you don’t speak Japanese or have a car, do not stay here. The taxi driver had no idea where it was and no signs when I got there. It is very ramshackle and messy, with little indication of where to go for the cottage. 5 mins to the beautiful Tomari beach and there is a restaurant. The locals took me to a festival which was fabulous, but other than that I didn’t see a soul for two days."
