"I had booked a holiday here in December 2025 to travel in August 2026. A few days before we were due to travel, I emailed reception with a few general queries. I received no response from them, so (luckily) I followed this up again, to be told that my booking had been cancelled 3 months ago. No one had told me - ok so this in part was the fault of my booking agent, although they claimed they didn't know. So we became a family with 3 young children with no where to stay, 5 days before we were due to travel. Carme Villas simply said that there was a problem with their contract with the hotel supplier and this had been cancelled 3 months ago - even that would have not been ideal. Avoid booking here unless you would be happy with your booking cancelled with very little notice (if any). What also struck me was the coldness of the reply I received - it was very abrupt and just said that they now have no availability so please get in touch with your provider and they will relocate you. As if it is that simple 5 days before travel to find another 5* villa with a private pool in a location that isn't too far away from amenities! (We couldn't - and so had to fight with our booking provider to cancel the whole holiday). I would never ever book here again based on their lack of sympathy and the fact that they thought it was ok to cancel 3 months before and not let me know. If you are due to travel here - please make sure you email them to confirm your booking. If I hadn't, we would have turned up and had no where to go late at night. If they ignore you like they did me, please follow it up again!! It's a shame as I'm sure the villa and place would have been lovely, but if you are looking for somewhere reliable then avoid this place."

"Overall great location (great restaurants in the area and the beach access was great), fantastic cleaners (they were very kind) and nice staff. Everything else was shockingly disgraceful. I was very unsure of what food I was eating, at one point I ate a “meat” that looked like an unknown substance that had a strange consistency. The food was more despicable than GRU in the first Despicable Me, for a few days straight I mostly just ate carrot as the other food did not look appetising in my opinion."

"​Our stay at this boutique beachfront hotel near Rethymno was nothing short of spectacular. From the moment we arrived, we were struck by the incredibly quiet location and the serene, peaceful setup of the property. If you are looking for a tranquil getaway where you can truly unwind right by the sea, this is the perfect place. ​The rooms are beautifully renovated, modern, and spotlessly clean. A huge shoutout to the cleaning ladies, who were incredibly nice, warm, and kept everything in pristine condition throughout our stay. ​What really sets this hotel apart, though, is the exceptional, personalized hospitality. The owner, Manolis, goes absolutely above and beyond to accommodate every single demand with a smile. His dedication to his guests is unmatched. And right by the bar, Sifis the bartender was an absolute delight—so fun to chat with and always mixing up great drinks with a fantastic attitude. ​The combination of a stunning location, flawless rooms, and a team that treats you like family made our stay unforgettable. We cannot recommend the Aegean View highly enough and are already dreaming of our next visit!"

"Unfortunately, never again for us. The rooms are good, and the beds are fine too. The view was the parking lot. Too little storage space. The family room has 1 wardrobe and 2 nightstands; that is 2 too few. No rack in the bathroom for your belongings. No drying rack on the balcony. The air conditioning was very weak. After reporting this, we had to wait 4 days for a technician. It was only after a fierce argument with the manager and demanding a different room that the air conditioning was fixed. I don't find that very hospitable. The food is very mediocre, cold, and very limited. Breakfast is the same every day except Monday, with very little choice. Fortunately, there are plenty of restaurants nearby. Sunbeds by the pool are always occupied and there are far too few of them. Sunbeds on the beach are for a fee. The pool is clean and the water is nice, but you cut your feet on the filters. It happened to all 4 of us, and to the point of bleeding for my daughter. Swimming shoes are therefore a must, even for the beach. The staff is friendly, though I found the manager less friendly after our confrontation. We have stayed in better 3-star hotels in Crete."

"We have just come home from a lovely week in this great hotel. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Rooms were clean and serviced daily. The pools were great, especially for the kids, 3 big slides and 2 splash pools and 3 other outdoor pool, plus 1 indoor with a small gym. Massive shout out to Rico from the entertainment team! He is such a lovely guy and kept us all entertained with quizzes, yoga, games and a mini disco every night for the kids! Food and drink was good with lots of choice! Rethymno a short taxi ride away, we paid €17 each way, is a lovely town with a fortress to visit and beautiful streets to wander. Overall a brilliant holiday!"

"Ok, so nothing really can be done about the location, it's in the middle of nowhere, nothing to do, no places to walk to, unless you get on the bus (buy tickets from shop in advance) or a taxi or hire a car. (Note 1hr20min direct taxi from Chania airport). Which is why it was a huge disappointment that there wasn't an animation team, no entertainment by day at all. On a Monday night for 2 hours there is a "disco party" and on Thursday night some greek dancing. That's it. There are not enough (old, uncomfortable) sunbeds for the number of guests and the pool is not big enough to accommodate everyone. €10 deposit for a towel. You need beach shoes if you want to swim in the sea, it's a rocky beach. On the plus side, the food was excellent at every meal (although lacking an a la carte or other options), the staff are fantastic, shout out to Santosh at the pool bar. Only the beach bar was open, which could cause long delays at times for drinks, closes at midnight, AI until 11pm. The sunsets are incredible. We had a lovely room with great views over the pool and beach. Please improve on the awful bars of soap. Would I stay here again? Definitely not due to the location and lack of entertainment. I would only recommend it if you are looking for a holiday where you do nothing but lie on a sunlounger all day, that is, if you can get one..."

"Lovely hotel a bit out the way , but lovely views , there is a regular bus to rythamon , and we did some great excursions with loci travel,the is a rep in hotel lovely pools , plenty places to relax we never had a problem with the food always something for everyone roof top was lovely to sit and relax watch the sun go down all in all we had a brilliant stay and never slept so good lol"
